we have here two powerful men, one happens to be one of the thickest president from the west and the other one of the thickest presidents in Africa. God help us

For the upteenth time, no one is advocating that women are compelled to live under abusive husbands. If your husband will be abusive, you will know well before you blindliy walk down the aisle with him. Leave him!
Let us assume you were blind and you discover he is abusive after marriage, leave him!
There is nothing wrong with leaving an abusive man.

In the bid to denounce feminism, most women here have suddenly assumed that the guys are giving a direct license to men to rule their homes with a rod of iron. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Marriage is not about egos it is about compromise. It is not about might it is about love, care and commitment. Some cultures denounce divorce, there is little that we can do about that.
That some men abuse their wives does not make it right nor does it mean that all men are the same.
smile!
makes sense David, especially where i highlighted smiley

Christianity EtcRe: If The Bones Of Jesus Were Found by sisimose(f): 10:14pm On Mar 03, 2007
lets get it Right, it is not the bones of our Jesus, it was the bones of a Jesus, according to the report on the news there were many Jesuses buried in that region , it was infact a popular name. They found many many tombs with the name Jesus inscribed on them. It is a fact that my Jesus is not in a tomb,he is alive wink

yeah you are right here wesleyana
i have to tell you many churches are telling men to treat their wives with love and respect, you know how humanbeings are, we change things to suit us, unfortunately that is where we have a problem in my religion.  Still we have very loving marriages where being submissive is handled with care and respect by the man. It will shock some of you here, but that is the life many have chosen. Who are we to knock it? smiley

You are right many cultural practices are inhumane sometimes but it is down to individuals with all things, it is down to each and how they translate it into life. Just like someone said guns don't kill people, people do! same goes for relationships and culture, it is how each person handles it.

name calling is not the way to discuss on a forum, you can be passionate about your point , just make them plain and articulate them for all to churn on. No need in the names at all. See how wesleyana articulated hers? well? there are many intelligent people here the fact that you choose to call Donzman and other who do not agree with you morons, dimbasses and retards does not make anyone one listen to you. You calling another a retard does not make you smart, after all the insults you rain on him he still didnt say one nasty word back to you, Haba!. After all we are suppose to be women right? lets act like it then.
PoliticsRe: Feminism: What Is Your View About It? by sisimose(f): 8:48pm On Mar 03, 2007
donzman you should have asked why is it not ok for a man to hit a woman back? if she hits him, surely he should hit back, since we talking equality. grin

but really it is wrong for anyone to be violent to another, there should be mutual respect, if a woman hits a man he should leave her and if a man hits a woman she should leave him
PoliticsRe: Feminism: What Is Your View About It? by sisimose(f): 8:38pm On Mar 03, 2007
very articulately put wesleyana very, i like it. It makes sense to me and i agree with some of the points you talked about there.
Can i say this without any sort of backlash? grin i feel the way i do about the roles we have as women and men based on two points. first my religious belief which you touched on and disagree with, that is ok  smiley after all it is a discussion.
My second point or reason  is to do with my personality, upbringing and view of life. I simply think women should be women by just accepting the basics .
You touched on equality in the work place and i agree with you, i guess it is a very wide topic and would always lead to many other points. lol i will leave it here now, but i must say i am enjoying reading your views and those of David smiley

this is too funny, i don't believe it is thesame David i just saw type a sensible post on feminism and others that is now here sayingwhite hair is well groomed.  The hair may be silky smooth unlike our own hair but if you want to talk of grooming then forget white hair. I saw many many things with  my  eyes in halls of residence when i was in uni.Do you know that many of these so called white groomed hair  do not see water for days? please tell me you were just being naughty . No their hair is not better than ours

About the topic.
i think one person took the words right out of my mouth, here it is
debosky:
grin grin grin

@ topic, never get too far into the 'married' mentality, try to keep the atmosphere of courtship, a little romance also helps along the way
women have a big role to play , sometimes we are too involved in playing house and forget our husbands get stimulated by visual senses i.e we got to keep looking good no matter what. that is one advice my auntaunte me. Don't do tshirts and baggy joggers etc lol
