Bro, I fall in the category of the most tolerant yet honest individuals to ever walk the earth. I have got not only flaks but curses for defending aggression towards gays. I have worked with the gay community on health awareness programs and event planning. I was an occasional guest in the gay karaoke bar which is a down low bar for gays who are daytime heterosexuals. I have done research on this issue and I have worked with the gay community while in school (not in Nigeria). I know for a certainty that we have hermaphrodites. For this group, I can give a pass because the biological makeup of their DNA is obstructed by one thing or enhanced by the other. I also studied the biological deficiency of some males (e.g males who have retracted penile muscles or female who grow beard and muscular physic). Nonetheless, what I have discovered working with the gay community is that the majority is nurture and has nothing to do with nature.

I had acquaintances who were gays and from the information that I garnered from them, I could draw my conclusion, which might not be generically substantiated, however has an in-depth potential to demystifying the narrative as the one that you stated in your comment. In other words, we decline some foods, not because we are not hungry, however due to our established preference. So, in a rare state of extreme hunger, a man who had loathed a meal like snake meat, would eat it by force. What he does, is to allow that spirit to survive take over his preference. In that moment, he wouldn't believe that he is a snake eater, but a survivor.

So, a gay man who is overwhelmed by emotions or lust, will not accept that he is engulfed, rather he would go for a softer ball and IDENTIFY AS BORN GAY.
