Idowuogbo: Trust me, its stressful going natural. I tried the whole natural thing this year, bloody expensive.I agree with you, step by step info on how to care for natural hair is difficult to come by. It sounds stressful but when you get used to it you will never settle for anything less I went completely natural two months ago |
Smhart1: you call that inferiority complex, i call it less stress. I cant inagine myself going on natural hair again know the hours i cry when getting it done and combed. I would rather relax my hair and style is as desired for weeks or more when not in the mood for braz. Than cry like am about creating an artificial river all in the name of natural look.....You need to add deep intensive conditioner to your hair regimen and you will not have problem with combing your hair. Hand de-tangling while you are conditioning is a must, it reduces the tangles, breakage and it leaves your hair softer, easy to comb when it is rinsed off |
blackweaver: op does your gf leave her hair natural ? mine does and I know the stress she goes through, besides I can't count the number of times she's told me that some lady told her that if she doesn't use some other kind of hair, her man will leave her for someone else. don't get me wrong, i prefer natural hair or at least real hair, but it's easier to complain about how a woman wears her hair since YOU don't have to wear it yourself. truth is it's not as convenient as those weave-ons. besides if men really made it clear that they prefer natural hair - and I don't mean complaining to your girlfriend because of the money you'll have to spend - many of the people complaining her won't even give a woman with natural hair a second glance - if at the club or bar, it's the woman with natural hair that gets the most attention, believe me women will start to go natural. it's not a matter of self esteem, it's a matter of what's in high demandDon't you think it is time we changed the way society perceives our hair? |
Caracta: I don't wear my hair natural because the Nigerian weather isn't good on it. It breaks easily and hurts. Our weather is not damaging to our hair, this is like saying the weather in Europe is damaging to Caucasian hair. The solution lies in good hair regimen. Cold weather is damaging to all hair types #FACT# Most Importantly, I CHOOSE to go un-natural because I look tidy and cute when I get my hair done. I don't need to go everywhere with a comb or brush. Its economical and weather-friendly...attractive, protective and easy to maintain. It's not healthy to have your hair unprotected at all times, especially in seasons of Harmattan.Basically your natural hair is ugly and untidy, it needs to be straightened to look tidy and cute. Your response is typical answer you get from a racist Caucasian ![]() Within four to five years of good hair care regimen like the above your hair should be exactly like this or even longer https://www.rehairducation.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/20-weeks-post-update-2.jpg http://blackgirllonghair.com/2014/08/will-naptural85s-25-minute-co-wash-and-detangle-method-work-on-waist-length-4c-hair/ Do you know what they all have in common? GOOD HAIR REGIMEN Any NAPPY HEADED WOMAN CAN ACHIEVE THAT LENGTH |
Caracta: You have a point. Inasmuch as I don't use false nails, false lashes or false booobs, I strongly believe everyone should be allowed to choose freely. We all ain't the same and I hate to call people names or tag them because they don't believe in what I believe in. Come on, we really can't be the same! When it comes to hair, people have a right to choose what they do with theirs But the issue with relaxed hair is entirely different, to MOST black women it is more than a choice, it is psychological #FACT# https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m-4qxz08So https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrJamE_hcck https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Cv0ji7LumI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mz8av9MBUok |
Well, I have always been natural, I was on low cut while in secondary school. After high school I decided to grow my hair longer but it became a problem when I moved to study in the UK. Despite several friendly advices to get it relaxed so that I would be able to manage (I hate that word) it, I declined because I have never never liked the texture of relaxed hair or the look. However I did straighten it with a straightening iron for a while but the effect lasted for a couple of days before it reverted back to its natural state. I also had braids for a while but I could not maintain because I hated having to shower with a big load on my head, it made my hair dry, it was hard to wash and also strenuous to undo without uprooting all your hair. This was the period I decided to read more about black natural hair, and I came across several websites like curlynikki, rehairduction, blackgirllonghair and other YouTube videos. It was definitely an eye-opener for me and it found it surprising that the average black hair can also grow as long as other races. it took me two years to finally make my decision. The reasons were because I found it too expensive, Most natural hair products are mainly found in the US, the exorbitant prices plus the postage fee was daunting I was going through another blog of a natural enthusiast who lives in the UK and I came across a list of all natural hair products in the UK, Most of them were very expensive but I finally made my choices. I had the option of choosing between Tresemme naturals or Rainforest from Bodyshop, they were the cheapest from the list. The latter was more expensive however more natural than Tresemme. I read the reviews of both products and realised that Rainforest would be a better option. So I got two 60ml bottles, £2.00 each. It was so small that I knew I had to incorporate the old saying that 'a little goes a long way'. ;.

datalossvictim1: Lol thanks. I wash it with baking soda and very warm water. Nearly hot. Then if it needs de tangling, I de tangle with conditioner(I use tresseme) then I still use a bit of warm water to rinse the cond off so that my cuticles are still raised. Then I apply coconut oil to my whole hair. I then pour cold water on my hair to close the cuticles.I will advise you against using baking soda as a shampoo, it is great as a clarifying wash but for a long term use. It is a no-no. Google has several reviews on its long term use, mostly negative . http://blog.kanelstrand.com/2014/01/baking-soda-destroyed-my-hair.html The link would help to clarify the problems with using baking soda as a shampoo |
Sagamite: Obviously .................... analysis.Wow, good for you. You are one of the luckiest. |
When are we ever going to get 'it' just right? I am starting to think that being black is a curse |

Okijajuju1: Two wrongs have never made a right. He hasn't committed a crime under the law which I suppose is the most important You cannot lump him with other 'bad' people if he deducted the percentage he is entitled to and return the rest. |
I concur ![]() |
I just saw an interesting survey done by the UK's Guardian newspaper asking over 1,700 UK university students and graduates which universities they regards as being equal to (that is, of the same quality as) their own university. http://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/interactive/2014/jul/24/interactive-which-universities-think-equals Analysis re ....What do you do for a living? |
Gflat: It sounds better coming from a man cuz its your responsibility to care for the "needs" his wife is suppose to be the "helping hand" or rather "back-up plan" instead of the "bread winner"Maybe However you and I know that that the crux of this matter is that you have nothing else to offer in the family setting other than money ![]() |
rickkid: Is there a single thing in that link which is a lie?Yes sir, you are depressed. Seek medical advice ASAP |
rafhell: keep living in denial and keep defending the most pissful, barbaric and bloody religion on earth. If that is what you call living in denial, I am glad to . Thank you very much for your time .Good night Sleep tight |
cirmuell: I know a normal human won't be this extreme...but even normal people are fast embracing this ideology. And you think that is normal? I consider myself, my brother, and some Arab guys I know normal and you know what none of them would never make such ridiculous decision because they are normal. If I were Cameron, I will simply revoke their citizenship status because they are cancerous to the society . |
![]() Go to sleep, darling. It is way past your bedtime ajibolabd: islamists=monsters. |
cirmuell: I know who you are.Fact: You will never see a normal Muslim kid/Youth that would support this type of Jihad. I have had first hand experience + research. The groups of people that are targeted for recruit are troubled kids, delinquents, people brought up in poverty ridden environments, people with little or no relationship with their parents (strained reltionship), people that rarely have their parents attention (busy parents), people who have suffer a great loss (lost relatives when the West invaded their land) and people with no purpose in life (just living life). believe it or not, it is the simple truth. They were able to find solace in the myth that they are fighting for a cause most of them are not even practising Muslims (find that hard to believe?), they may appear to be collectively but individually they are just there. |
rafhell: like muhammed never killed.....? like muhammed never murdered....?Don't make me answer that pleaseeeee ![]() |
careytommy: Christians check my signature link and know the plans they have for you HERE IN NIGERIAI read somewhere that depressed people tend to believe conspiracy theories. By depressed I mean, sad, lazy, dumb, fat and lonely people. Are you depressed? |
cirmuell:Unfortunately for you, I am a Muslim, ISIS or Boko Haram would slaughter me the same way they did this so-called Christians without giving it a second thought. Get it? Terrorism in the name of Islam is far deeper than what you assume it to be, OK? |
rafhell: exactly what muhammed practiced during his satanic reign of terror on earth. Are you sure? Get real |
ajibolabd: islam is evil.Abi o Another propaganda, ISIS is executing anyone whose ideology differs from theirs, they do not care about your religion, be it Islam, Paganism or christianity. So you guys can stop getting emotional and stop pretending like you really care. Lets us join hands together to rid this world of |
cirmuell: about what, dude i don't like unnecessary quotes...gerrit? ![]() |
cirmuell: Saw this pics at linder's a while back...really gory, don't know where the world is turning to.Are you sure about that ![]() |
None because for starters this is not ISLAM ![]() Lilimax: I expect the Muslim world to be protesting cos of these inhumane acts going on in Syria but none. |
macof: Why should an Obas body be taken to a mosque?? It is Oba and not Emir??This is expected only IF the Oba were a practicing MUSLIM, however if he wasn't or did practice both religions together they would not have buried him according to the Islamic rites. |
antartica: It pains the heart. ![]() Who cares if it pains the whole body? ![]() |
Ouch ![]() antartica: That kind of culture that makes people kill their relatives that finds happiness in the name of honor.Quite an unprecedented culture. |
anago9010: balderdash I'm a southwestern living in abuja, the biggest mosque in wuse in a predominantly large Hausa enclave have Yoruba imam, where is your theory of they don't pray behind you.I agree there shouldn't be any discrimination but you cant pretend to ignore something that is glaring. Take a trip to Bodija market and see how prayers are conducted. Like i said earlier he isn't the leader if he were,. he would have taken account of the sensitivity of the subject at hand and have acted as such. Isn't there a national committee for that? Were they informed or was the proclamation a unanimous decision? You have no idea what this issue is all about and the damage it has caused, There had been efforts by the SW Muslim leaders to address the issue of false moon sightings with the Northern leaders and this is what we get in return. The day Northern leaders begin to act as Muslim leaders then i will reconsider my stance on them, till then |
