Logicboy03: It is like Ayomivic has not been to churches with statues of his European god
obviously he hasn't, he is lost in his white european jesus that's on the cross. Unfortunate that we have lost our cultures and traditions and have adopted the white man's tradition, I don't see them doing the same. If you go to brazil this festival is still celebrated there as a result of the slaves that ended up there. Travel far and wide but don't forget ur heritage and traditions.

DAY11.:

Thats the meaning of PROGRESS, remember that not everyone will have the capacity to enjoy the onset of a progress. Making a mega city all diz thing must go, I feel for them sah!..But Okada must go!
I agree on progress but what plan has been put in place to support this people? What jobs hve been created? Graduate no see job na okada man lol. Expect crime rate in lagos to increase if not is done to cushion this.
Politics / Re: Okada Riders Protesting In Lagos? by sizzlinghottie: 10:36am On Oct 22, 2012
afam4eva: I knew that there's no way these Okada riders will sit and watch their only source of livelihood being denied them. Go to police stations and Alausa and see how okada riders and their families are begging for their okadas to be released. Thousands of okadas have been seized and set ablaze by authorities.
its really not fair,if you're gonn tke their only source of living provide them with other options, lagos cannot be compared to these other states,d demand for okada in lagos is very high. Fashola is making a mistake, now crime rate in lagos will be doubled if not tripled.

Politics / Re: Muslims In Jos Protest Film On Prophet Mohammed by sizzlinghottie: 7:32pm On Sep 13, 2012
The US embassy in Nigeria on Wednesday warned Americans about the threat of attacks by extremist groups following the violence in Libya and Egypt, urging extra caution.

The embassy issued the warning following an attack on a U.S. Mission in Benghazi, Libya, yesterday, which killed an ambassador and three other embassy staff.

“The U.S. Mission in Nigeria strongly urges U.S. citizens in Nigeria to consider their personal security and to keep personal safety in the forefront of their planning,” the embassy warned in an emergency message on Wednesday September 12.

The attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, suspected to be carried out by Al Qaeda elements, followed protests against a controversial movie about Prophet Mohammed made by an Isreali-American, Sam Bacile, living in Carlifonia.

The movie sparked protest in Egypt where protesters burned American flags near the American Embassy. The movie also drew widespread condemnation from the Islamic world.

The U.S Embassy in Nigeria fears terrorists in Nigeria may latch on the spreading rage against the movie to attack its citizens as security conditions in the country remained ”fluid and unpredictable.”

“All U.S. citizens should use caution and discretion when deciding to attend large functions or visit establishments identified as potential targets, and respond appropriately if they detect suspicious activities” the embassy warned.

The Nigeria Police said it has taken “immediate proactive security measures to ensure that no similar violence is replicated within our country.”

The Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, in a press statement said “the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar, has placed all police formations across the Federation on red alert.

I think before we start condemning the muslims in jos, sit back and think about why a jewish american would make such a movie to begin with, knowing it would spark up a controversy and put peoples lives in danger. These americans are fond of doind things like this, tomorrow bokoharam will vex and evryone will say its GEJ. Muslims from ancient times till now have been very protective about mohammed, is it so hard to respect that? If we christians feel its okay to disrepect our creator does that mean other religions should accept us making a mockry of theirs.

Nairaland / General / A Must Read For All Nairalanders, You Might Be Saving A Soul. by sizzlinghottie: 5:56pm On Sep 04, 2012
On wed the 29th of sept, my bestfriends younger sister Ms.Chinwe(19yrs) left for work in the morning and was expected as usual to return home by 7pm, she works as a sales girl in one of the boutiques in lagos island. Chinwe never made it home that night and when I was told, like everyother person I felt maybe she went to a man's house, next day chinwe still wasn't back then we knew it was serious because its unlike her. 48hrs later her family reported to the police and filed a missing persons report, sebi na naija we dey, police filed their report and we didn't hear from them again. Each day her mother spent in the church praying to God, crying and visiting hospitals around. Broadcast messages where sent with her picture but no one had a clue as to where she was, following Ms Cynthia's case (RIP) we began to fear the worse. The past sunday I decided to pay them a visit and be there for my bestie, 30minutes after I arrived a call came in to her mothers phone and behold it was chinwe sounding dazed and confused, she had no clue of how she got to where she was, it sounded like she temporarily ran mad. Chinwe was far away in Awka, unizik junction to be precise, with a lot of phone calls, we finally found a good samaritan that went to pick chinwe up and took her to her own house. The good samaritan (destiny) called us and informed us that chinwe was safe and waas beginning to get herself back gradually. Now am sure evryone is wondering how chinwe got to Awka, well when she left work that wednesday she boarded a bus at apongbon, instead the bus took she and other passengers straight to an uncompleted building all the way in abuja under what seemed like a spell ( you can see and hear but can't move), chinwe was amongst the lucky few that was allowed to leave that hellish place, and I don't even want to imagine what will happen to the rest left behind. Chinwe escaped with another girl, dazed and confused to Aawka. I want to happily say that she's back home with her family and has been taken to the hospital for check up. But its baffles me that things like this are still happening, we are not safe in this country at all, everybody is much more focused on boko haraam that we continue to leave room for things like this. One can leave his house and only pray that he gets home. Please kindly inform your friends and family to be wary about the buses and cabs they enter.

Politics / Re: Ogoniland Declares Independence!!! by sizzlinghottie: 11:40am On Aug 03, 2012
Your comment is very ridiculous, its as if you don't even know your history or maybe you skipped social studies in secondary school. What has "Nigeria" as a nation achieved since independence? A country that has 521 spoken languages, different cultures and religion, how do you want to put that under one roof. Am surprised we lasted this long, but enough is enough. Its high time we divided and freee ourselves from our colonial masters. So don't call them daft just because they are doing something that should have been done yeaars before you were even born.
lacasa: We r at a stage in Nigeria where anybody has the chance ϯo do,say, act n declare whatever he/she likes..However hee/she liks..Whenever he/she likes undecided

Sadly, we αve truly n absolutely become a Failed Nation.

A Nation full of daft people, daft groups anϑ daft governments at all levels.

Its plain "Absurdity" at its highest.

Please @vicjustice and @justwise kindly answer
sizzlinghottie: Hello my nairalanders, my cousin was with her exfiance for 5years and had a kid with him and she adopted his name just for one of her bank accounts which happens to be her most active account right now. She is been sponsored on a trip to the uk but would have to tender her account statement as ECO procedure, a contact to bank said that name change can be done if she has a newspaper publication to prove it, but then again she was told by the newspaper agents she called that she can only do a change of name if she has a marriage cert or divorce cert of nysc cert and she has none of the above. Basically she has all her documents ready to apply just her account statement, is it possible she can attach a sworn affidavit to the statement and also explain to ECO that she hasn't updated her account hence the reason why her name hasn't been changed. Please any advice or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Go to the nigerian immigration and meet with an officer (avoid street touts).
Travel / Re: E-passport Renewal/extension by sizzlinghottie: 4:39pm On May 04, 2012
Vikin: OP, Initially it used to be only in Abuja, but Lagos has started the renewal process. I wanted to renew mine last month, called the imigration officer in lagos, he said it will take 3 - 5 working days for express renewal about 18k.

Items required is that you come yourself with the old passport. At least that was what the immigration officer told me.

Goodluck

@Viking please can I get your contact in the lagos immigration,I also want to renew my passport. Going to abuja is absolutely ridiculous, in this day and age they should find an easier way to help people instead of stressing. An average man would have to pay over 50k( transport, hotel, feeding) all because of passport. God help us all.
Romance / Re: Would You Tell Your Colleague/ Friend His Wife Is Cheating On Him? by sizzlinghottie: 6:32pm On Mar 27, 2012
Dogberry: I picked this topic up from a conversation I heard in a Lagos bar. I thought it would be interesting enough to make it into a public discussion:

If you know the wife of your colleague/friend is cheating on him, would you tell him and risk losing the friendship if she talks her way out of this? (according to the speaker: she has talked her way out already several time when being caught calling or texting).

Fair enough I answer first:
I would discretely provide the proof and anonymously submit it to him and make sure he doubts her loyalty so much, he starts investigating himself. If she talks her way out of that, he deserves to remain blind!
I second that.
Romance / Re: Need Urgent Advice- Online Dating by sizzlinghottie: 1:02pm On Mar 27, 2012
MRbrownJAY: ^^ lady, you would be surprised to know how many 9ja girls are being taken for this online dating scam. women are women and sadly, when love is in the air, many will do anything to meet/please their Don Juan. what the previous poster was telling you is that, if you have to send him money (for whatever reason) then it "may" be a scam.

the difference of planning to go straight back with him is HUGE! remember, you shouldnt make any plans until you properly meet him and discover if he is who he is......so if you buy a ticket to go back with him, before he arrives and spends time with you, then its wrong.

also, how exactly would you consider your r/ship? is he your BF? is he coming to get to know you or is he coming to "taste" the fruit of your r/ship? i mean, if he comes here, is sleeping together on the "menu"?

as for being left alone in a strange country, many things can happen with strangers, even if you have money.
- mysteriously lost your passport before he threw you out.
- mysteriously lost your cash/CC before he threw you out.

trust is something that should be earned, dont give it away cheaply because of sweet words, as it could be your downfall.
many are forced into prostitution abroad, many are sold and enslaved as cheap labor, many are even killed.

here is some very important things you have to ask yourself (and him too):
- why you? if he is not old or "ugly" (or if you are not the most beautiful gal out there) then why is he after you like that, rather than after someone closer to him?
- what is so special about your person that he wants you in S Korea?
- if he really plans his future with you then he should take the proper measures (after a while and before you leave), marriage etc.
- where will you stay if going to S. Korea? or will you go there and automatically live as husband and wife with this stranger?
- why the rush?
- did you do ONE webcam chat or you do webcam chat every night?
Mrbrownjay thanks sooooooo much for your honest replies. To answer your questions, no arrangement would be paid for ♍ƺ to leave before I meet with him. We have discussed a lot of deep issues so I would say we are dating and he's coming to get to know ♍ƺ more and see my folks(not 4 marriage just intro) but marriage has been discussed already and its looking positive. About where I would stay am not sure yet but I know he has his house which his company gave him. He is also worried about coming to nigeria, he's scared I might be a scam or kidnap him, because he has been kidnapped before in trinidad&tobago( so its all about trust on both ends) I was thinking if I eventually go, maybe I could go to the nigerian embassy and drop my contacts with them, they make sure I return back safely( still thinking).I get to use my laptop with wifi on weekends so we have a webcam chat on weekdays and it isn't fake because I have asked him to do somethings and he did.it is not as if he wants ♍ƺ to come and live there, its jusrt after all the internet chat we have to get to know eachother face to face. He also plans on relocationg but that's after he's contract has finished in S.korea. I just want to know of any security measures I can take.
Romance / Re: Need Urgent Advice- Online Dating by sizzlinghottie: 1:39pm On Mar 26, 2012
Which naija guy would want to scam a naija girl when there are many fishes out there, that's just plain stupid. Am not worried about scam am much more worried about drug trafficking and human trafficking.
Romance / Re: Need Urgent Advice- Online Dating by sizzlinghottie: 1:11pm On Mar 26, 2012
[quote author=MRbrownJAY]- dont make any plans until you meet him face to face and spend a bit of time with him, discovering if he is truly the person he portrayed to be online. as much as you "may" think you know him, there are plenty of things that are easily concealed on a webcam.

- also, one important point that you need to ask yourself is: if he was so desperate to see you, and has no problem to go and meet you in 9ja, why does he STILL want you to go back with him to S Korea right away? i dont get it.

- even though it is only for 2 weeks, i wouldnt advise anyone to go and meet a stranger (yes he still is), in a foreign country, with no support/friends/money.........what will you do if he threw you out on the street after an argument?!

there is no rush, so take your time.[/quote Thanks so much for your advice. Firstly, we main plan for now is that he's coming over first, he has also pointed out his fears about coming to nigeria. Secondly, I was the one that suggested we go back together, because I just felt what difference wld it make if I go now or go later. Lastly I have a good business and I am financially okay, I wouldn't leave my country without enough money to see ♍ƺ through and my ticket would be return. I just want to be very cautious. Pls if you have anymore info let ♍ƺ know.t

Okay guys I know we all at one point in time tried internet dating so this shouldn't be weird. I met this French guy online about 2months ago but he lives and works in South Korea. We have done a webcam chat, he calls ♍ƺ like everyday, we chat on blackberry messenger everday, he sents so many pictures, he even sent his compnay website so I can know what he does and I saw pictures of him in conference and special events his company had. We want to talk our relationship a bit further by meeting, he asked ♍ƺ to come over, but I've never travelled before and am scared going all the way to S.korea to meet someone I've never met before, even though its an all xpenses paid trip. So I told him to come over and visit ♍ƺ and see my family because not everyone is okay with ♍ƺ travelling, and he is absolutely okay with it and respects my wishes, he has arranged to come over to see ♍ƺ and we plan that we leave back to S.korea togther and I spend like 2weeks with him. Please guys what do you make of this? Am kinda scared but when I speak to him I feel so connected with him. Am I been paranoid? I don't want to miss probably the L♥√ع of my life because I didn't take a risk, maybe I watch too much "banged up abroad", please I need some serious advices only, thank you. w
