They probably should have divided that country, gives you a smaller territory to defend, and those who want to live in a strict islamic society can do so with their taliban, the rest can live in a free society, makes the job easier, better than a total loss.

when people say afghans support the taliban, they simply meant they still have support among the masses, doesn't mean the entire population.
We just don't often make that distinction, but it should be obvious.

Are you guys not seeing the massive crowd of Afghans in kabul airport trying to flee aghanistan.
Have you seen the traffic in kabul just to get to the airport.
Many of them are cursing the US for abandoning them and some are here saying they are loyal to the Taliban.
If they all support the Taliban, why are they fleeing.

The US failed and lost the War, That's the simple truth don't try to twist Reality.

There's no doubt that alot of Afghan people and soldiers are loyal to the Taliban but at the same time There are thousands of Afghan soldiers and commanders who are ready to fight the Taliban any day any time, the only thing that make sense here is a case of sabotage and not a freaking loyalty to the Taliban.

Do you have any idea how much excess arm the US has? They simply have no use for whatever was left over, that's how the rich do it lol, the headache of having to transport those out, probably not worth it to them. And the Afghans can't also say they weren't left with nothing, except they failed to make use of what was left to them. It can be argued many ways, once again, i feel bad for the women and girls in that country.

There's no more President, those Generals are already in charge and they can't do sh!t, US secretary of defense already said they couldn't force the Afghans to have the will to fight, which was what i said before, most don't wanna fight, and the US doesn't trust them much either, which will explain why they aren't that ready for this

Iran's govt will face their people and explain that away how? You just feel sympathetic towards Taliban because everyone is against them. You need to think deeply why that is the reason. Taliban is fighting a "Jihad" and not a civil war. They have corrected it severally. Now that should tell you something about them. Everyone is weary of the havoc they could cause and the support they could lend towards global terrorism when controlling a state. But a royal rumble game is playing out here. Iran wants the US out of the middle east due to strained relationships. China and Russia is looking to extend influence. That does not make them all friends. As a last ditch effort, this will likely happen. Biden may hasten up talks with Iran and motivate them into sponsoring a war against the Taliban. Win-win. America prevents another 9/11 and Iran extends influence. China and Russia also support Iran.

You need to quit the mentality of "everyone is brainwashed by US" and look at issues how they are and play out.

US military never trusted the Afghan military, because a lot of them either fear the taliban or have sympathy for them.
You can't force people to fight and believe in what they don't want to accept, some probably enlisted just for the pay check.
After 20yrs of US presence, Afghanistan should have a formidable Army, but i don't think the US gave them all the tools they need to do the job, and that could be due to that lack of trust. For the US to still be giving them air cover, has anyone asked where are their jets etc? And the pilots? Did the US even give them any Jet ( not that it matters, but it's still an asset). Taliban did all these by road, yet they were allowed such movement, this was nothing but a coup. America got tired, simple as that.
If US want to destroy the Taliban, it won't take a week, but they will have to destroy the whole country in the process.
The talibans should be studied, their rate of movement was something else.
And to those saying it's okay for them to now rule, if you are a female in that country, you won't think that way, those poor women are about to start a very sad journey to hell. Now in areas already taken, women can no longer go out without a male escort, it's just getting started.
And Taliban have no interest in supporting terror groups anywhere, at least that's what i believe, so forget about them helping terrorists in Africa, i doubt that will happen

What's the alternative though?, once they've laid down their weapons, we can either reform them or jail them, that's sadly all we can do. their leaders in cases like this are the priority, those can be hanged .
And ppl like these should be placed on life time parole, they as much as jaywalk, they go to jail, but we hardly have the infrastructure in place for such monitoring
