JOSCOFELIX:
Please do not ever quote me if you don't have information or fact check about any of my post. The video was copy from a solider account, on Instagram. I advised him to shot down the account which he did. The video did not happen anywhere around the south east. The operation done by the military in a local government at Enugu state was a joint task force between the military, dss , sts, police. Led by commissioner of police , and major Gideon. He said the military police have invited all of them which went for the operation in that video. I will not mention the location which the video take place inanother not to implicate the solider . But using weapon and firing anyhow should stop.

Gunmen Sunday morning allegedly attacked the Nigerian Police Division at Unwana, Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi state and killed three policemen on duty, including a constable and two inspectors.

A source from the area, who spoke to our correspondent noted that the gunmen stormed the area around 2:am ,adding that one of the gunmen was killed by the police during the attack.

He said: “They killed 3 policemen: one constable and two inspectors and the police killed one of the gunmen. Nobody knows the identity of the gunmen and police have taken the remains away.

“The incident happened around 2am. Nobody knows the route they came from. All we heard was gunshots for about 10 minutes. At the moment, there is no information to know if they destroyed or stole anything from the police station.

“The men were masked, but the one killed had been unveiled by the police to ascertain his identity. He also had red clothe that looks like a charm tied around his waist.”

still not as bad as elsewhere though, US has lost over 700k people, and that's with their advanced medical facilities , a country like Nigeria alone would have had double that if covid was bad in Africa, we would have known, no one can hide that many deaths, but we haven't seen such, so i think Africa truly got lucky with this one, a huge luck, so with or without testing, we would have been wrecked hard and it would be obvious, we got lucky, smart leaders would be preparing for the next one, because it is coming, whether we like it or not.
And i think countries on the continent that experience winter weather had it worse, Northern parts and SA, i could be wrong though

Africa also isn't testing at the same levels as Europe as well....more tests more positive cases

lol, me know? na just article i saw and decided to share. what do you think about the dead count? thought that was high

SamuelAnyawu:
How are we killing ISWAP leaders? Through Soldiers on ground or Air strike.
The way our security personnel are reporting these deaths is kinda quite confusing.

Here in Borno it is claimed that Al-Barnawi was injured in an ambush by loyalists of Shekau around mandara area.

LAGOS, Nigeria (AP) — Nigerian security forces have killed the new leader of an Islamic State-linked extremist group blamed for killing hundreds in Nigeria and neighboring West African countries, a senior security official said on Friday.

Nigeria’s national security adviser Babagana Monguno said that Malam Bako, who recently succeeded Abu Musab al-Barnawi as leader of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), was “taken out” by troops earlier this week.

Bako's death could not be independently verified and there was no immediate confirmation from ISWAP. The development would be another heavy blow on ISWAP following last week's announcement by the Nigerian military that al-Barnawi was killed.

Bako was in August appointed a member of the Shura Council, ISWAP’s consultative assembly, as the militants consolidated their position in the Lake Chad basin following the death of rival leader Abubakar Shekau of the Boko Haram extremist group.

Monguno praised Nigerian security forces fighting the extremist rebels in the northeast and the Lake Chad basin for doing “an excellent job” after eliminating ISWAP's leader and his successor within a span of a month.

He said the IS-linked group is facing a leadership crisis and that Nigerian military operations have put “a lot of pressure” on ISWAP and its rival Boko Haram.

The reported killing of al-Barnawi and Bako have refocused attention to the conflict in Nigeria’s northeast, that began 12 years ago with an insurgency launched by the Boko Haram.

The Nigerian military recently announced that about 6,000 militants have so far surrendered following Shekau’s death in June this year. Security experts told the AP that most of those surrendering were forced to join Boko Haram under Shekau or didn't want to associate with ISWAP, which has been Boko Haram’s rival since the groups' 2016 split.

Unlike Boko Haram which often violently targets civilian populations, ISWAP targets the Nigerian military and those who aid soldiers.

IS has also tried to capitalize on Shekau's death by launching a massive recruitment drive and gaining more Boko Haram-held territories especially within the Sambisa forest.

The United Nations Development Program estimates that the conflict has resulted in 350,000 deaths, with 314,000 of those from indirect causes.

Is that the only rail line in Nigeria? just asking, i don't know. if not, what about the rest?
I haven't seen any country that does this ( protecting rail lines), i remember taking the train from New York to Georgia, took about 16hrs or so and the darn thing passed through bushes most of the time lol, there i was thinking i'd enjoy good scenery, nope, just bushes, in other words, unprotected areas.
I think Nigeria should focus on tapering down serious crimes, that's the only way, we don't have the resources for this. Deal with crimes in the country, dominate these forests i keep hearing about and provide opportunities to the youths, otherwise that country will continue to burn.

Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 11:45pm On Oct 21, 2021
My issue with the cam idea is distance and response time, not to talk about the kilometers the train path passes, it will require tremendous resources.
if the idea is to simply warn and stop trains from proceeding, it could work i guess, but still doubt it. , but no way they will catch the perp

youghs:
Cameras will make you know if there's a threat ahead na. And if there is, the train will be asked to stop or return to station while the security agents move in to probe and neutralise the threat.

So what do you call those women and children we've seen trooping out of the jungle from BH and ISWAP enclaves? aren't they civilians? if anything bh and co have more civilian captives and relatives in their midst. So how does that matter as regards to bandits and not to terrorists? personally i think they are one and thesame by the way

Faithful007:
The reason behind the restrictions on the use of the Tucano's is because of the nature of the current North-West Crisis. "Bandits" take many civilians hostage and live among civilians as well. The Nigerian government in desperation, has adopted a ruthless approach of effective but indiscriminate airstrikes, leading to substantial civilian casualties which may not make the news.

Also, some government officials even suggest an end to payment of ransom, so airstrikes would be conducted, whether civilians are held hostage or not. This would be in direct contravention of the US Foreign Policy. More specifically, Section 502B of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended in 1978: "No security assistance may be provided to any country the government of which engages in a consistent pattern of gross violations of internationally recognized human rights."

So hope you guys get it, it's not about designation. Peace out.
