What genocide? It was war, don't bite more than you can chew, right now these idiots are killing cops and burning down police stations, you missed that part? When the Govt bring in its war machine now, them una go dey cry genocide again huh?
And twitter removing the comment of a sitting president is literally an insult to the country, it's not just about Buhari. I mean, I'm sure newspapers carried that comment he made, did the sky fall? Nope, life goes on.
And no ethnic group in Nigeria is civilized, i can't even count how many Okechukwu armed robbers i've seen in the news over the years lol.
Why do some ibos keep thinking they are special, none of us are, we are just people. And every Nigerian group(s) are oppressed, are notherners all rich? Nope, it's a country of the oppressed, being presided over by thieves and dark soul mother effers.

p.s:
knock yourself on the head instead, take one for all of us, i think 60 times should do it

hunter21:
I wish I could give everybody on this thread a proper knock on the head,
What National security are we discussing with an illiterate military dictator that bans a company because of personal reasons.
This is a man telling us that he would repeat the genocide of 1967.
If you abokis don't know the meaning of civilization, go and have own country and leave southern Nigeria alone.

My state is on fire, call the army.
herdsmen dey my town, call the army.

bandits dey forest, call the army.

I remember back in high school when we were about to write our Waec and neco or whatever its called now, few of my classmates went to see some herbalist, and he told them he's done all the work necessary(after taking their money) and that during the exam a spirit will float in and hand over the answers to them. i swear this na true story lol. and these boys believed him, they didn't study or anything lol. they failed miserably. Who in their right mind would believe sh!t like that

DubaiLandLord:
What of pastors and Alfa's wey dey use human parts do juju?

that just makes no sense. anyone here ever said believing in God meant you are bulletproof or that it would bring development? or what are you comparing here? why bring up Islam or Christianity.
When you think black magic works, why is it often used for evil sh!t and not for good.
it's silliness to think charm would stop a bullet, that's the convo here. no need to shoot me, I'm not dumb enough to think I'm bulletproof. But you are free to shoot yourself though, let us know how that works out grin
And be a good boy and live stream that sh!t for us to see. perhaps the result of that would spare us your constant bad news articles in the future grin

DubaiLandLord:
Why is Christianity and Islam not been used to develop Nigeria?

When you're back in Nigeria you can let me know. But after you shoot me, I'm also going to shoot you at the exact location you shoot me and I will also use the same gun you use.

Twitter removes Nigerian president's 'abusive' civil war post

GOS (Reuters) - Twitter removed on Wednesday a post by Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari threatening punishment for regional secessionists blamed for attacks on government buildings.

The social media firm said Buhari's tweet, referring to the 1967-70 civil war in the southeastern Biafra region that killed 1 million people, violated its "abusive behaviour" policy leading to a 12-hour suspension of his account.

Buhari, who served in the army against the secessionists and was Nigeria's military ruler in the 1980s, tweeted on Tuesday that many people misbehaving today were too young to remember the deaths and destruction from the civil war.

"Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand," he warned in the tweet that was taken down.

Nigeria has seen a spate of arson attacks on electoral offices and police stations in recent weeks, especially in the southeast. Officers have also been killed.

SEPARATISTS

Authorities have blamed a banned separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and what police call its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network.

The IPOB has repeatedly denied involvement.

Buhari posted a series of tweets on Tuesday, the day after towns across the southeast were quiet and businesses shuttered since the IPOB urged people to commemorate the war dead.

Some social media users criticised Buhari's tweet before it was removed, accusing him of targeting Igbo people from the largest ethnic group in the southeast. IPOB is influential in the region and its efforts to revive sentiments over Biafra have prompted a crackdown from security agencies in recent years.

Nigeria's Information Minister Lai Mohammed was dismissive of Twitter's action, saying Buhari had every right to express dismay at violence by a banned organisation.

"Twitter may have its own rules, it's not the universal rule," he told reporters. "If Mr. President anywhere in the world feels very bad and concerned about a situation, he is free to express such views."

these are the same guys that will now constitute a new police force and military? lol. right now dem never get power them dey abuse civilians. I can bet you that nothing will change if that new country ever happen. a select few will form a cabal and the stealing and looting of treasury will continue

can't wait to see this awesome Ibo killing squad lol.
someone actually thought killing a few generals will destroy nigeria? wow. ok
to accomplish 5% of what Mossad did, you need discipline, infrastructure, technology, funding, space etc. Ibo land is still controlled by the central Govt, as it's applicable in all of Nigeria, so unless you want to get millions of igbos killed, going after Nigeria's military leadership would be the worst mistake they will ever make.
In this case we aren't talking about foot soldiers whose death are overlooked by their superiors. we are talking about these leaders being hunted, hmm. the response would be brutal. Not even the President can stop it.
This guy want compare these undisciplined brutes to the mossad lol. funny

Based on what data?

DaddyGoo:
The diaspora and the access to finance that were not there in '67 for me are the scariest.

Without finance and a large diaspora, the "rebels" in the East held the FG, which had unprecedented Cold War support (US, UK, Israel, Egypt and Soviet),for 30 very bloody months.

Presently the diaspora contribute US$25 billion a year as at 2018/19 to Nigeria.

And truth be told majority of them are Igbo.

FG needs to calm the hell down and use brain, not gun for this.

For context, Buhari was a Major in '67 in the heat of the battle.

Today, he is a Major General who has been retired for over 30 years.

I expect far more wisdom and tact than what is presently being done by the FG, seeing as old soldiers are supposed to be wise.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 2:36pm On May 30, 2021
Think it through chief. break it into 100 countries with no strong central govt in each, once again what you will end up with are independent territories with warring warlords, it will never function.
we simply aren't mature enougto do it right. Greed, tribalism, lack of trust etc will never let those new states be viable.
with proper reform, it will be better. Autonomy while the fg provide oversight over each state, this make sure no governor abuses his or her office or infringe on the rights of minority groups. Just one of many things that can be done.

Valkrie:
So because of the fear of Nigeria breaking into 50 nations we should all bound together and be killed like fowl everyday...? Haba e no make sense nah...as long as there is peace and progress and no blood is further shed for nothing...Nigeria can as well split into even 100 nations...You forgot that people are already tired of this union...forget others keeping quiet..once all is set everybody would find his or her level..the glue holding Nigeria is already expired and that is the bitter truth unfortunately and I dont think anything can salvage it...The only maybe close thing that can still bring people together is to create their different nations, self governing and only agree to a union for old time sake, that way nobody can lord it over anybody, all would progress at there own pace and any who is tired of the union can simply back out without any shouting match....!!

It so so unfortunate to see us come to this level but what can any do?

We are all waiting to see how the situation pan out...!!
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 9:11pm On May 29, 2021
Not much to negotiate over, what Nigeria need is to give a great deal of Autonomy to it's states, and that could do it. And while they get that autonomy, let them start having their own economies without the FG sharing money with any state unless if aid is required.
Nigeria can never allow Ibos to secede , they do that, and that's the beginning of the end, Yorubas will follow and others, then of course there will be no more nigeria, now what would happen to other ethnic groups within those breakaway regions? What if they also want to go their own way? Then you will have over 50 countries carved out of the present day Nigeria, and the large ethnic groups in the new country most likely won't allow it, then you have civil wars all over the place. Good luck with that.

It's a partition barrier coz of covid, over here they use something similar at banks, grocery stores etc.
At least that's what i think it is.

TabletMan:
U We can drag this topic from now till tomorrow or even next month yet won't reach to a point of understanding/agreement because you don't understand the political workings of this present Nigeria.
I still have many citation to give why state police will not work under this present settings with many fighting groups showing their strength. Are you aware that the recent killing that claimed 30+ lives in benue state is not cause by Fulani bandits rather it's from their home grown militants ( gana boys) operating at kastina ala side. Then tell me how and where benue state that cannot transform their agricultural drive to mechanized farming get money to fund their security to combat both internal and external crises facing them.
Taxing their citizens won't even work because that state reeks of poverty to the extent that mud houses are in their large numbers in their capital city MARKURDI.

Dubailandlord ....
You quite know that expecting some states to raise money on their own will result to mass sack of many people in state civil service due to blockage of their normal oil money allocation they gets from FG.
Merge States like kastina, zamfara, kebbi and sokoto and they won't still fend for themselves.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 5:46pm On May 28, 2021
which is why we need checks and balances. normally official communication and documents shouldn't be destroyed, that would be illegal

GeneralFarouq:
Evidence may be destroyed within that peroid...
Take for instance, Yaradua was gover not for 8 yrs, then from there he became president... Let assume he used is term full that would be sixteen yrs... That peroid is enough for the destruction of any evidence, natural or made death of witness etc.

Did you look at the picture you posted properly? or it isn't pics from the raid? i know its been a long time since I've seen a Nigerian police officer, but i believe the two officer on the left by the door of that pick-up truck are police officers

Why is the police not taking along in this operation which they are suppose to be leading sef huh
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 2:11pm On May 28, 2021
Hell they could leave the immunity clause, as long as it expires they day they leave office. law enforcement would continue gathering evidence, once the fool is done in office, cuff him at the gate on his way out haha. but if the immunity is permanent, then that's a bad idea.
so i think even if left in place only for the duration the person is in office and they know they can be prosecuted after, then they might behave, or run overseas grin

GeneralFarouq:
In that case, section 308 of the constitution granting immunity to President and governor's should be removed so that they can undergo court process while in power...
If they could be sued in personal capacity for offences committed while in power, most of these nonsense would stop.
Even the US where we copied our constitution from don't have section 308... We copied this particular section from the British, who have the rule " the queen can do no wrong".
OBj almost removed this, but when he proposed third term, the Constitution review just scattered.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay:
Same way America maintain her roads and bridges, taxes, boss, taxes.
It's a reform we are talking about right? they put all that into consideration when reforming the systems.
for example gas tax, when you fill up your car, you get charged tax, that money can be used for roads etc, toll gates, among other things.
Like right here in New York, when i pay my monthly gas bill, i see MTA tax, mta is our transit system, now why on earth is that on my gas bill, but it is, because those fools are running out of money to maintain the transit system.
So there are targeted areas they could focus on and get tax money, then direct that towards operating a more professional police force.
Tax laws should be strictly enforced in that country, over here when you get a letter from the IRS, you are about to wet yourself lol. they take their tax money even if you buy a pencil, because that money is Crucial to America's survival. One thing we haven't learned.
Here we pay local, federal and state taxes every single time we get our paychecks. naija could do the same. enforce those tax laws, make sure everyone that runs a business register such business and disclose their profits/losses etc, make low interest rate loans available to businesses, deduct social security payment from those paychecks every time you get paid, that money will then be there for you when you retire and don't have to rely on your children to feed you. grin
you will see billions come in. strict enforcement will do it, under that reform or restructuring.

TabletMan:
Now is not good because state governors are finding it hard to pay salaries, how will they be able to fund security upto maximum expectations to quell crises rocking their respective states?
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 11:15am On May 28, 2021
That's not an excuse chief. there's never going to be a perfect time to do what's needed. reforms can be carried out regardless of what atmosphere is there. The will to do it is what's lacking. if we are to wait for that perfect time or climate, we will wait for eternity

TabletMan:
I said present political atmosphere for a reason. Nigeria is very bad presently because our political class always find a way to utilize power/authority to favour them.
What of salaries, promotion and recruitment?
How about pensions and gratituty?
I think it's good to just strengthen our local vigilant group for now. Till we have strong institution and law , I am not supporting state police.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 9:55am On May 28, 2021
It's all about having checks and balances in place, US has state and local police and no Governor will dare abuse his authority by askithe police to do anythingillegal, if he do that, the Attorney General will launch an investigation and prosecute him.
If we have certain things in place, then no reason why we can't have local and state police.

TabletMan:
That road is located at Owerri city center and you can clearly see the Imo state shuttle bus in the background.
My brother, let's not get emotional while/when trying to solve a security problem cos it might led to another bigger problem.
The present political atmosphere in this country will make state police to be useless. Imagine what Obiano will use state police to do to his political opponent because of Anambra upcoming election, then reason how El rufai will use state police to intimidate and harass groups in southern kaduna like SOKAPU.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 9:29am On May 28, 2021
Then you might as well look into the mental health of most Nigerians.
The idea of brutality seem to be something engraved into us as a people.
No be that same country una dey stone each other to death? burn people to death etc?
What do you do to thieves when caught? strip them naked, sexually abuse them, pepper them etc, Were those soldiers doing all that as well? It's sadly our nature (perhaps current or not) to be brutal towards one another. It's a mentality that should have been gotten rid of in the military, i doubt the military is the cause.
Ordinary Nigerians on the street open their own eyes and commit murder in broad day light, imagine someone stole a laptop from some random stranger, then more random strangers gather around the thief and beat him to death, even though they were never victimized by the suspect.
How many employers are out there brutalizing their own employees in Nigeria? even sexually assaulting them, are they soldiers too?
If we need to build a better country, we have to change our nature, and that can only be done through thorough executions of law and order, and education, even education is debatable, but it will help because in the long run the crazies will get weeded out. But law and order is key.
I mean, we have university students in Nigeria committing serious crimes, so perhaps introduce course in civility, that might be a good start, if they don't have that yet.

GeneralFarouq:
Some stuff we allude to military brutality may fall under PTS.
I still believe looking into the mental health of soldiers would solve most of these issues.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 5:30pm On May 27, 2021
That's some ignorant statement chief. there are people in. their 30's running multi billion dollar companies or leading an entire country.
you could have made your statement without stating that, because if you had thought about it, then you'd know better.
so much for thinking huh. grin
Could show you men in their 60's with no common sensesmiley
Being young is no reason to not have an opinion.

Jimi24:
This is my problem with Nigeria. People don't sit down to think anymore. The discussion space is now taken up by 20-somethings and 30-somethings who no nothing about anything. The 1963 constitution also failed. Of course it failed. It led to military incursion into politics. Yes minorities were suppressed in the regions (and this is not as benign as it sounds). It was state creation that made some of us realise that not all northerners were Muslims and not all S. Easterners were Igbos. We need to be careful that one track minded binary thinkers who can't think railroad us into errors of the past.

If you check these pages you'd see videos of Nigerian military personnel going through similar training, on ships, structures and buses.
what you talking about

Kaeboy:
Depot is not doing any serious tactical training make we no decieve ourselves. Most of what they consider training is just torture and punishment, which is reflecting in the way they treat civilians.

Other advance country military training academy will create real village for training purpose just to put reality and what is obtainable in real life situation into the training.

I watch a particular training of a country one time like that online (I can't remember), they put people who act as hostages in bus with other ones acting as abductors, then some guys on training had to rescue them.

Nigeria forces are only training men to be cruel.
