FL Gators: Me too!!! And that's only because of the internet. I'v never seen so much people go at each other like this. Even the young NLers who knew nothing absolutely nothing about Nigeria are so ready to be tribalists/ innocent tribalists. Tells you how much the internet can influence you true I take breaks from NL because I dont like what i read on here. but i definately experienced some of the onlytruths meksxxx types in person but they happend to be female, few and just du.mb like platmnk lmfao. My parents are sooooo yoruba I have honestly never heard them talk about anything if it isnt yoruba stuvs. SEFAGO: yeah me neither, but thanks to mekusxxx . . . I should sue the pot-bellied man. Its also a very male thing. Most of the women here are small-time ethnocentrist, and fake ones too except for Tpia and FLgator, The Amaka
Men are usually the ones quick to take up a cause that seems to insult their pride. As you can see 95% of the ethnocentric threads come from men, the women are more in the romance section looking for love lol |

Mekusxyz: Sjeazy8 Then Yoruba voted for Obasanjo massively in 2003? Igbo did vote for MKO in 1992. You are again twisting facts Mekusxyz: Vote Breakdown and Analysis
Voter turnout was higher in the south than in the north. The Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Moshood Abiola received over 8 million votes, and won in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The National Republican Convention (NRC) candidate Alhaji Bashir Tofa received over 6 million votes and won in 10 states only. Over 14 million people voted. Abiola won in Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kwara, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Taraba, and Yobe states, and the Federal Capital Territory. Tofa won in Abia, Adamawa, Bauchi, Enugu, Imo, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Niger, Rivers and Sokoto States.
Abiola’s victory was comprehensive as he won almost 60% of the total votes cast. Only in two states (Kebbi and Sokoto) did Abiola fail to obtain at least one-third of the votes. Abiola even defeated Tofa in Tofa’s home state of Kano.
http://maxsiollun./2009/06/11/16th-anniversary-of-the-june-12-1993-election/ Lol im not a goat . Why lie to yourself? only Anambra voted for Abiola |

Katsumoto: The above does not make sense. Are you following the progression of the thread? So if Odua becomes a republic and Arewa declares that it must have access to the Atlantic Ocean, will Odua not be forced to fight or given in like cowards? Why should you make a statement such as that highlighted in bold? You are further perputating the myth that Yorubas are sell-outs. Yorubas arent sell outs because they dont have an agreement with the any tribe or region. One there will never be an arewa republic because of the norths dependence on ND oil. Even sultan of sokoto wouldnt want that. Two why would any sensible yoruba join Federal Republic Of South Nigeria with those who have anti yoruba sentiments in them? When have the East and West ever agreed on anything? Yorubas voted for olu falae, the East voted for Obasanjo Yorubas voted for Mko abiola, the east voted for Bashir Tofa Yorubas voted for Awo, the East voted for Zik Abacha killed and imprisoned many promninent yorubas, Ojuwku befriended Abacha Three Federal Republic Of South Nigeria is a joke as if the East or west wont try and secede on their own. Im being realistic |
Politics › Re: Federal Republic Of South Nigeria by sjeezy8: 2:35am On Jan 03, 2010 |
Why would yorubas want to fight a battle which doesnt concern them?
The battle or civilwar isnt that of the yorubas and such, its between those in the North and South east/South south. Im still wondering why the yorubas havent sold the rest of the south to the North, because the oppurtunity is there.
Becomeriches plan isnt far from possibility aside from the edo, bayesla delta joining benin part. Why have a Federal Republic Of South Nigeria when they can have an odua nation without any people in the west(including non yorubas) being involved in a war? |
Politics › Re: Is Cecelia Ibru Really Worth $7bn? by sjeezy8: 2:20am On Jan 03, 2010 |
SapeleGuy: For example, the properties in america are being linked on the basis of surname, you need to prove that she gave these other ibru's the money to buy the properties. If you can't do that then you have wasted everyones time. Ok IBB/Obasanjo are not a thieves then since Nigerians cant prove they stole money or have done any illegal things in a court. |
Politics › Re: Is Cecelia Ibru Really Worth $7bn? by sjeezy8: 2:03am On Jan 03, 2010 |
SapeleGuy: You are too quick to play the tribe card. All I am saying is that we should make sure there is genuine evidence and not the disgraceful submission that was made with the ibori case.
The fact that someone is in possession of large amounts of money is not a crime you need to prove that the money is the proceeds of crime or money laundering.
Convictions are made in the courtrooms and not the pages of the newspapers. Do you think obasanjo and ibb are thieves? yes or no |
Politics › Re: Is Cecelia Ibru Really Worth $7bn? by sjeezy8: 1:53am On Jan 03, 2010 |
Whats a lie the 7billion dollars or the stealing?
Its seems some of you have come to her defense so quick, esp the deltans. Im a yoruba and i could honestly say akingbola and bode george are thieves in one way or another. So whats different about Ibru, unless its the amount we are talking of?
If you are saying shes couldnt have taken 7bn dollars ok that would make some sense, but if you are saying she and ibori are innocent, you people are very silly.
and if thats the case obasanjo and IBB are not thieves either. |

The same MEND that was asking the Igbo to join them, the same Niger Delta which consists of Bonny, a majority Igbo speaking island? The same Ijaw who marry all the Igbo women that come past them? When did MEND attack Igboland? I can remember it attacking somewhere else. . . . . True and the same thing can be said about (yorubas and edos) also (kanuri and hausas) but if Nigeria were to split. Edos wont join yorubas and Kanuris wont be with the hausas-fulanis . . . and this thread is wack now too much insults |

Oduduwa State not a do or die matter –Ooni Friday, 01 January 2010 00:00 Joshua Dada
Ooni of Ile-Ife Oba Okunade Sijuwade has blamed the disunity in Yorubaland on politicians who capitalised on the disagreement between Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola to sow the seed of discord in the Yoruba nation.
He said in his palace at the press conference organised to mark his 80th birthday anniversary which comes up on the 1st of January 2010. Oba Sijuwade remarked that effort is being intensified to re-unite the race.
According to the monarch, Yoruba leaders all over the world will converge on Cotonou in the Benin Republic in March 2010 to discuss the way forward.

Politics › Re: Federal Republic Of South Nigeria by sjeezy8: 8:41pm On Jan 02, 2010 |
No2Atheism: Actually I think Itsekiri would want to be part of Odua . . . cus from history, Itsekiri can technically be considered to be a group of Yoruba people whose language is much more different from the standard Yoruba language . . .infact i think i have come across archealogical reports that say that the Itsekiri language is closer to ancient Yoruba than the present day Yoruba language . . .
It is wrong to say Itsekiri would be marginalised. . . all you need to know that such a statement is not really true is by merely considering the Itsekiri names . . .infact you would find a hard time differentiation between certain Itsekiri names and Yoruba names in general.
Hence as far as Odua is concerned . . . Itsekiri would want to go along with Yorubas as they themselves are actually Yorubas. . .
Benin/Edo is a nation on its own with its own history, hence my suspicion is that they would prefer to stand on their own rather than join with the Yorubas . . . True i should have seperated binis from Itsekiri instead of typing "binis, itsekiri . . ." |
Politics › Re: Federal Republic Of South Nigeria by sjeezy8: 7:55pm On Jan 02, 2010 |
SEFAGO: Kai seems everyone loves the Niger Delta- this is exactly what i expected Yorubas dont love it Lol funny stuvs ND should have their own republic. Though some of them were with the East and West before, things have changed. Esp with Ken saro wiwa and ojukwu. So yea things have changed since before, The west consisted of edo and co . . . but today that can never be and binis, itsekiris are they're own people, and (many yorubas) wouldnt want them to be in a odua country anyway. They wouldnt want to be in an odua nations aswell thats like asking to be marginalized, until a obama of theirs emerges. So yea ND republic should include all ND states rivers, edo, delta, bayelsa, cross river, akwa ibom,- that seems more eqaul than any of those states joining odua or biafra. or atealst split it by ethnicity. Odua will be fine - they have major agriculture(Making Nigeria Number 1 in Africa), some Oil, minerals . . . and o yea EXTREMELY HIGH taxes. Becomerich has always made sense except for the Delta state and edo joinin Benin part. |

There are many talented people around us who are locked up mentally, this is about enabling such people. Typical goat it doesnt take a genius to realize no discussion can be held with beaf other than 100 percent resource control in ND in the end run, who are you fooling? |

No thank you I would rather remain in one Nigerian with the fulanis/hausas and dormant, than with fellow southerners who obviously have a problem with my region (as of right now).
LOL doesnt make any sense want to abuse SW Nigeria, then try and create a country with them afterwards. Ill say it a thousand times, just cause were in the south doesnt mean we're on the same page. If anything the SW Nigeria is along the same lines as the middlebelt moderate.
lol I can go with a odua republic but NOT for a southern Nigeria. No wayyyyyyy makes no sense nikkus |
