Nice write up! But seriously, if we run from women the moment we identify any of these things, who then shall we marry? |

Well I think the thing about the acceptance of rap music (as we know it-especially in the american/foreign context) has to do with level of education and exposure. There's too few of us that have and show appreciation for rap music in nigeria thats why its not making it as much as other music genres in the country What we have instead is guys that have taken the rudiments and fundamentals of rap and have applied it to the nigerian setting-where there are many under educated and unexposed folk Da grin and Olamide as well as many others have applied this principle in a strictly nigerian sense What MI does is that he blends the two together in some tracks, applies either in different tracks This is not a mode9 diss...but this may be why his music may seem uninspiring, dull and generally unappreciated, simply because he doesn't apply this rule. Ruggedman was the first shift from a sole application of the foreign rap style to a blend with nigerian style Now about mode9's legendary status, I strongly disagree. He was only fortunate enough to fill the silent yearnings of those of us grown, nursed and exposed to rap the foreign way. We silently longed for our own nigerian kind. So there he came. Because there was no alternative, we rejoice in his advent. It wasnt until MI showed up rapping that we knew mode9 was not it, because strictly speaking, MI is way more talented than 9 is. (This does not necessarily confer legendary status on MI, even though he is close, I am almost impressed with him) |
Mehn, I just had to chime in on this one In my opinion, olympus has fallen only just slightly edges white house down. One of my favourite parts in OHF was when it appeared like they were gonna shoot that lady secretary of state in the back when they ordered her to walk, before Gerald Butler popped out and took their attention. In WHD, the girl waving the flag, though emotional (whipping up most of y'all sentimemts), highly unrealistic! Plus Obama would never say "get ur hands of my Jordans"! But all the same, both movies were great though |
Excellent thread!! In addition to all that has been said, I have this for your viewing pleasure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9LelXa3U_I |

Okay, let me rephrase, has anybody ever asked about the other person's genotype? AND HOW DID YOU DO IT? |
amourpure: It is better one ask at the onset of the relationship. It could be asked in a very neutral manner for the other party not to think the person is forward. It won't be too funny if the people involved have gone far in the relationship before knowing they are not compatible. All you have said is the reason why I am asking HOW to ask? ![]() |
Guys please I need some opinions here At the onset of a potential relationship, after one might have scaled all the initial hurdles and all is set to go ahead, how does one deal with the issue of genotype? Specifically, how does one ask the question (without seeming to forward)? especially when the less favoured genotypes (AS, SS) are involved |
