Olanlere11: Any English speaker will tell u in clear terms that men of low estate as used by ur Precious Pastor means the proletariates as Karl Marx would call them. Bakare used low estate synonymously with shoeless. The shoeless here refers to GEJ'S political campaign slogan. Haba Skii, why are you denying the obvious. Is it because you come from a wealthy background? Does the world for the rich not have provision for the poor like us? is leadership skills an exclusive reserve of the high estate? Should we stop going to school, or stop developing ourselves just because we are of low estate or shoeless? If Bakare wanted to say moral decay, not morally upright, ethically backward, he knew the appropriate words to use. He meant to abuse the poor, he wanted to restrict us to followership, he wanted to distinguish between the rich and poor. Must a man of God segregate? Tell him that We the poor now know his agenda and will resist him with all our might.Bakare is not my pastor…I only admire his courage in what he is doing. I wouldn’t consider myself as coming from a wealthy background and neither a poor background…and again that is relative…it depends on the context that you are referring to. By the grace and mercies of God, he enabled my parents to provide for me. You can only be as poor as you choose to be. As I have said before, not having materially doesn’t make you poor. Excuse my saying this, but I would please enjoin you to stop referring to yourself as “we, the poor”. Obviously you possess wealth in articulation and command of the English language (at least better than Patience) so I wouldn’t regard you as poor (in the Nigerian context). Consider that I learnt a new word from you: “proletariats” By being shoeless as Jonathan used it in his campaign rhetoric, I would have thought that it was to signify or identify with the poor masses (which it was intended to). But as I have said in another post, it was a farce, used only to win the compassion of the electorate. It only masked what has been rightly pointed out in tunnytox’s post…you can come from a humble background but still not have CLASS tunnytox: Dude do you understand what is called CLASS? Class is not about money because money can't buy class! That's why you'll see some rich people behaving like money miss road. |
@tunnytox For the sake of some humour, let me shoot myself in the foot.. I'm so loving your post ![]() I'm trying so hard to make these folk gerrit, but they just dont wanna ![]() |
tunnytox: Dude do you understand what is called CLASS? Class is not about money because money can't buy class! That's why you'll see some rich people behaving like money miss road.Where were you since when I was trying to get my point across? Nice one ![]() |
@Juju master…I really doubt that you were patient enough to read and understand what I wrote. I enjoin you to do so again. Regarding “low estate”, I think you might be the one who is missing the context in which Bakare is using it. Well I think that pouncing so hard on the statement by Bakare as referring to the poor in general is ridiculous and a very cheap attempt to underscore divergent views about the man! We all know that he could not have been referring to the entire poor except a certain category of men as I have tried to point out. What he has said is simply true!! When people who are inherently morally deficient, who lack exposure, discipline, accountability, who have had their norms eroded (again, these are the some of the things that describe “low estate” as is being used) find themselves in power, terrible things are bound to happen. Sisi Kill has highlighted this with a proverb that describes Patiences’ recent behaviour Somebody that hasn’t seen wealth before will misbehave when he/she sees it You need to read the post, it also has a sense of humour and cynicism in it… Here it is, incase you missed it Sisi_Kill: Rotflmao @ Pastor Bakare! |
Vehicle Chassis or Car Body = Body Petrol (as the name implies, Premium Motor Spirit, PMS) = Spirit (life force of the car) The Driver, You, = Soul (the most important) Thats why Souls are won to Christ!! |
Regarding Patience, Bakare makes an excellent statement, “It is the timidity of the inferior that prods them to cover up. Deep rivers flow in majestic silence.” This is very true! The natural instinct when faced with a situation beyond you is “fight or flight” Bewildered by the vast amount of resources before her, she opts for flight (another trait of people of low estate) rather than to fight the innate desires of greed and fails to demonstrate self-control, so she is trying to acquire as much accolades as she can before she is no longer there. This is a typical manifestation of someone that is poor in many areas. For heaven’s sake her husband was a Deputy Governor, Governor, Vice President and now President!! What more could she want? Permit me if you are a Christian but Jesus teaches in Luke 12:15 “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” No matter how much she tries to cover up, it won’t hide the fact or erase from the memory of Nigerians and the world that she is eloquently and articulately POOR!! Except of course she continues to bask in the presence of those who she shares similar estates with… |
Olanlere11: It beats my imagination why people can't read between lines, or draw a simple analysis and sieve out facts. Bakare said when shoeless people, or people of low estate rule, terrible things begin to happen. This implies that for terrible things not to happen, only rich men should rule. Or what is the meaning of shoeless, or men of low estate? Pls, the defenders of Bakare are those that are rich, we the poor must rise up and defend our rights. Nigeria belongs to all of us, period.Ehen, what were we saying… “When the shoeless takes over, he does clueless things. When such men of low estate find themselves in power, terrible things begin to happen.” He added, “It is the timidity of the inferior that prods them to cover up. Deep rivers flow in majestic silence.” Shay this is what Bakare said that you are deducing he meant Nigeria is only governable by the rich? For a start, what or who do you define as poor? Because in truth, the word poor is relative and it depends on the context in which it is being used. Either way, it means not having or lacking in…but not having or lacking in what? You want to tell me that someone who is very intelligent and highly intellectual is poor? Or someone who is highly talented in art, music or any other skill is poor? Certainly not!! It is only in Nigeria today, that being poor generally refers to the lack of material things (whether you agree or not) and this is a pity. But I really cannot blame those who think this way. Years of “suffering” brought about by the terrible things (such as corruption and embezzling of state funds MEANT FOR ALL) that happened when such men of low estate found themselves in power and their celebration has brought upon them this mind-set. These terrible things that have been perpetrated over the years and in all corners of power (not just with Jonathan or the FG) have eroded all the moral and value systems of our society to the point that the real things that should describe wealth or richness that ought to be rewarded such as sound character, honesty, accountability and STANDING UP AGAINST THE INJUSTICE AND PERVERSION OF POWER are now being discredited or ignored. It is now the other way round… SUCH men (and not everybody) of Low estate as is being referred to here is the classifying or umbrella term for those who are not necessarily lacking in material things but are POOR (lacking or not having) in morals, having no shame or character, lacking self-control and self-discipline and the likes!! Bode George, James Ibori, Alameiseigha (however his name is spelt, the one that dressed like a woman to evade identification at the airport) are examples of men of LOW ESTATE!! |

Poster HOW ON EARTH WOULD YOU DRAW SUCH A CONCLUSION FROM BAKARE'S STATEMENT?? I strongly disagree and I crave the indulgence of the MODs to do something about this thread!! Please change this header BAKARE DIDNT SAY ONLY RICH MEN SHOULD RULE!! STOP IT!! |
edicolove: Seriously dude, what did you score in your WAEC English language or JSS III english, whichever applies. Because what you posted up there is one of the most ridiculous English explanation I have ever seen. And to imagine that you termed it "higher" level of understanding is the pinacle of absurdity. This is what we call ignorance gone on rampage! I don't even know where to start to reply you from. It feels a little bit demeaning having a conversation with you, seriously. Please get a copy of brighter grammer and learn some comprehension! Duh!So what is wrong in what he has said now ehn? Oya you give us an explanation that is not ridiculous You just want to show that you can speak english and you sabi grammar? mschewww..."Because what you posted up there is one of the most ridiculous English explanation I have ever seen"...gbagaun master and it is grammar not grammer.... |
fr_evangel: Which true compatriots are you talking about? I am an evangelist, I also read and make comments on politics on various blogs and websites daily, but I always no which ground I am speaking from. If I come to your house as an evangelist and start talking politics and Nigeria(not to even mention insulting our president) how would you receive me the second visit? As a bible student, I learnt from David, when he had the opprtunity to kill Saul, he refused and made a very remarkable statement when he said he would not touch the Lord's anointed no matter what. We all know that the Spirit of God had departed from Saul at this time and David himself knew for he was the one brought to play the harp everytime an evil siprit took over Saul. I thought he(Pastor B) should be there praying for the president and the nation. Anyway, since he became a political opponent, I am of the opinion he is no longer in the right position to speak against the president like God is the one speaking.Mr evangelist in the house...that ur last sentence needs adjustment as long as you speak the truth, i will always welcome you in my house |
ipagzee: we should allow him to say what ever he likes, because talk is cheap. if you go to his church how many of his church members have he empowered as in improving there standard of living. At least he is trying to effect the building of a Nigeria that all of us can afford and not buying up private jets or building universities that his congregation cannot afford |
1Dray: Am begining to be so ashame of this 'Pastor'. Is this what you were call into? By now your congregation would 've bn so starved and malnurished spiritually. How do you expect God to feel, looking down from the heavens and seeing you feeding the sheep He gave you care for, been fed with poison (political hate) instead of feeding them wt edifying and building spiritual food and winning souls to Christ? Why get yours so eaten up with hate, as it is so obvious and shows. You rain insults on someone and tell me you are a pastor. Well, it is not for me to judge but do u realised how many people you might be misleading because they might now think raining insults and abuses on someone are no more sins. Is the prayer that you were supposed to be leading your congregation to pray for the nation and also the President and other leaders? How would this kind of 'sermon' edify the sheep you are sheperding? If I may ask you, can you successfully combine priesthood and kingship together? Oh, really? Then you've gotta be the one and only Melchisedek, the only biblically recorded King and Priest (at the same time), and you know what? You've gotta kidding me... Melchisedek wont act the way you've been acting and carrying yourself. #SoMuchHateInYourEyesAndVoiceIt is only in Nigeria where someone stands up to speak against the immoral conduct of those in power that it can be labelled as political hate. A pastor is supposed to remind the people, the leaders and the led, of the teachings of God, at least thats what the levites used to do. The fact that other pastors do not do this but rather dwell on prosperity teachings doesnt make pastor Tunde any less of a pastor In fact from my post, I deduce to myself that there are prosperity teachers and there are justice and equality for all preachers |
Jonathan is using all the points of poor people...in fact he is wasting it...because if a poor man comes up next time to run for president, people will be skeptical...they might probably ask if he had shoes while he was young |
aryzgreat: Six JTF soldiers and 2 civilians were killed yesterday by boko haram, Tunde Bakare did not say a word of condemnation nor has he organised a prayer to seek God's intervention at resolving this insecurity issue, ask me why? Because he knows that if he should pray against boko haram, definitely he is bringing down Holy Ghost fire On BURARI the chief sponsor of boko haram. Tunde Bakare u are a shame to yoruba people! We av seen how desperate u are! you and buhari WILL NEVER smell Aso Rock in ur life time since u av decided to play politics with human lives. Can u please organise anoda OJOTA RALLY against BOKO HARAM not only subsidy! Mutherfuckerrrrrrr!speak for yourself...I'm a yoruba and I say he is no shame to me |
klax: @Okija-Juju Qoute" What more is there to say..Boko Haram is a symptom of the problem. and Bakare is doing well to address the problem itself...CORRUPTION!! The obnoxious greed of the first lady to secure as much as she can, to the detriment of the masses...don't you know that if greed and corruption is removed, and the money is judiciously used to set up vocation and training centres for these Boko Haram recruits...do you think we will have them today? |
Mr.chippychappy:i agree with you on the concept of love...if our leaders practiced love, they would be touched by the sufferings our people and choose not to embezzle state (meant for everybody) funds Mind you, on the old testament, some pastors use concepts from there and project them to the time of today to preach their "prosperity" messages, eg the widow of zarephath. |
Mr.chippychappy:That is sectioning of the bible...its not the only thing the bible teaches... In the old testament, God raised Judges for the Israelites to judge them and lead them in times of war against their oppressors |
noble84: This man is just a disgrace to pastors.and i think he is a stooge in the hands of his devilish master.disgrace to which ones? |
Mr.chippychappy:I like the name and the post, it helps to point out the stupor in this discussion |
nagoma: I don't know Mr. Bakare but I respect him as a true and corageous man of God. It is the duty of the clerics to purify the hearts and souls of people ( including DR.& Mrs. Jonathan) and to equip them with good morals safeguardingbthem from tyranny and egotistical desires, and the opposite of tyranny is justice. A man of God must invite leaders and other people to putting knowledge into practice, he should inform them for knowledge is the opposite of ignorance.when you put such knowledge into practice you perform your duty according to the critria laid down for valid righteous deeds. In this case the constitution and the laws of the country and morality.Morality for a leader include suppressing the desires of ego, inculcating the justice, mercy, affection, forgiveness and gratitude. Bakare is great teacher and I only wish Jonathan and his wife will take notes and put knowledge into practice and they will have their names written in Gold and for ever in Nigeria and world history. In fact, it is sooooo morally repugnant that Patience can be appointed permanent secretary... |
Olu'femi Abbey:Its because people dont read their Bible well enough and so allow other pastors to "chewing gum" them with cute prosperity sermons, with emphasis majorly on the principles of sowing and reaping, as if that is the only thing the bible preaches |
God raised Moses to lead the Israelites after he heard their cries under the hands of Pharaoh...maybe He has seen and heard the suffering of Nigerians so He is raising Pastor Tunde "MOSES" Bakare for us... Amen?! |
dbty: Change your mind set and think positiveWhich one is change your mindset and positive thinking now ehn? ![]() The name resemble something and I asked does it? BY CHANCE? Your first sentence in your response was good enough. The second was totally uncalled for Na wah o... Say sorry, I am offended, otherwise, I will tell my mommy for you |
O.D.B.:What in the world does it mean? |
I think the bloodless solution to defeating Boko Haram or bringing to an end, their operations is if more and more Muslims stand up like Sheikh Gumi has done to defend their religion and stop allowing the misdeeds of just a handful to tarnish the entire image of Islam What are the real tenets of Islam as it relates to coexisting with non-muslims? Some Muslims say that unless provoked, they should fight and kill people who don't believe in Islam, others say they should teach them and if they don't accept, they should leave them and pray to Allah for them to accept. Whatever the truth is, no where are their actions of randomly killing innocent people justified, Muslims and non-Muslims alike. They should highlight and publicise the real teachings and distribute them to the people in the nooks and crannies where these BH hide (since most of them cannot read, even the Koran, so its what is interpreted to them that they swallow, hook line and sinker!!). So that by the time more and more people become aware, they will start to reject and eject them from wherever they are |
