Romance / Re: Why Do Cheaters Keep On Cheating Even After Getting Caught? by Skii(m): 4:44pm On Feb 29
It has to do with the brain and how we are wired!

Once a neurological association has been made, that is, if the brain got a dopamine hit from having sex with someone else (other than ones spouse)...then there's almost no going back once the connection is made.

The stronger the hit, and thus the connection, the more difficult it is to get off the hook. This is how addiction works and is applicable to smoking, drinking, womanizing, porn watching, masturbation...etc.

This idea then will be to break the connection, or reverse connect with another dopamine releasing experience to the brain that produces the expected behaviour...in this case faithfulness to a spouse

Selective Justice!
The lady is wrong to have pushed an officer of the law so she deserves what she has got.

But this is, to some extent because it's on camera

How many injustices go unaddressed because they are not on camera...both by the citizenry against uniformed officers and by uniformed officers against the citizenry?

Romance / Re: Finding A Wife Is Really Not Easy O by Skii(m): 9:48pm On Feb 06
Mcslize:

It doesn't work like that. If you don't believe the power of prayers, it will be very hard for you.

If you think you can choose a life partner by your own human discretion, it will be very hard for you.

You will meet the right one not when you want it but when you less expected it. That is if only you can genuinely pray about it. God will make both of your paths to cross each other in an unexpected way that you don't even expect. That's how it works.

It will happen when you less expect it. Go and watch how Moses Bliss met his correct partner. He didn't plan for it. But he might have been praying about it.

The lady was the one that even tagged him when she made a video dancing to one of his musics, and she tagged him to the video. That's how they met.

So, if you are the type that don't believe in the power of prayers or don't believe there is someone called God that exist up there, and you rely on your own understanding to selecting a life partner, it will be difficult for you to actually select the right one or come across the right one.

So, it's up to you whether to put it in prayers or doubt the power of God like others do.

The ball is in your court.

I was considering to respond or not..but thanks..you have spared me the composition of a response.

If only the OP will read your opinion.

What I will just add to this is that the cattle on a thousand hills are His. Just ask God sincerely, that out of the multitude of women out there, He should send you your own wife...and that when she comes by, you would recognise her.

God brought Eve before Adam and he recognized her as his wife. Follow the other God orchestrated examples in the Bible. Isaac, Rebecca...Ruth and Boaz. All the ones that chose wives by/for themselves also leave an example...Samson and Delilah...David who coveted Bathsheba (don't go for a lady who is already involved with someone else).

Look for maturity and show some vulnerability. See how she handles it. Also, watch out if she shows some too. Have the wisdom to handle her imperfections knowing fully well that you are equally as imperfect. Afterall, the man and woman were naked and felt no shame.

Finally, when you see her and your time truly comes (and if you have genuinely and consistently prayed)...you will just know....nobody will tell you but yourself

My only comma with your article is that you end it with wanting to teach men how to up their game.

I would have loved if you put forward a couple of practical steps to CONNECT or RECONNECT (as the case may be) as a way of overcoming porn as an addiction

Oga, go and read history.

Not here to argue.

Crusaders are just one of the numerous death merchants in Christianity.

Death via Christianity is like x 3 of that of Islam because the former is older and more widespread than the latter.

Do your research.

https://www.quora.com/What-religion-is-responsible-for-the-most-deaths

Bro...neither am I here to argue.

But in your effort to offer a resource for me to research, you refer me to quora.com? Thats like saying I should check Nairaland.com 🙊

Anyway, history is written by the victors of conquests. And thats for those who cared to document like the christians/crusaders.

I think the Arabs may not have cared that much to document or record at the onset of their Jihads...until documentation and records became widly available to those who would do it on their behalf.

Again to the point, I don't dispute that people died at the hands of Christians, what I am saying is, deaths from Jihads, or Arabs or Islam is not learning...not at all. They are not that far behind!

To says it is 3 times greater is an overkill...

If only you know the number of death caused by 'Christianity'.

Islam is still learning.

They belong to the same source.

I admit that there were deaths caused by Christianity. I dont admit or agree that Islam is still learning in that regard. I share a different view.

The massacres committed through Jihads is not as documented in history as the massacres from the crusades. I am not saying they are the same in terms of number killings or one is more than the other. I don't have facts to prove that on hand right now.

What I am saying is, if you go by the documentation of recent history, and add to it, the televised renderings of this history, through the media, film makers etc, you would get the impression or sense that the crusaders wrecked havoc on the world and thus did more killings than jihadists.

Family / Re: My Personal Observation About Nigerian "Adults" by Skii(m): 2:34pm On May 27, 2023
Nazgul:
Don't blame them. Nigeria isn't working so once people see any business that gives money, everyone would dive into it and over saturate it.

Look at POS... around 2016, you can rent a shop and run POS and make reasonable money. In fact you could live comfortably with POS business. Today, you'll find over 20 POS operators on a single street. So if you're planning on going into it, just be prepared cos whatever you make from it obviously wouldn't be able sustain you.

Look at Uber/Bolt. I know someone who is in Canada today courtesy of Uber. He started out as an Uber driver as far back as 2017. Today because there are no jobs, more and more guys (and even ladies) are going into uber. This had made Uber become over saturated . And if their drivers are honest with you, they'll admit that it's not as lucrative as it used to be.

Same with provision shop, you can find more than 20 on one street all selling the same thing. How on Earth would they make profit?

Is it korokpe or danfo bus...that one is worse, there are some routes you'll ply, when you reach and park, before it reaches your turn to load again, it might take up to an hour because there are lots and lots of other buses ahead of you.

In the late 90s and early 2000s, one of the fastest way to make money as someone who wasn't fortunate to attain university education was to do hire purchase. Find someone who would give you a bus, and within a year, you've paid him back and you have the bus all to yourself.

Today, bad economy and inflation has made it impossible for these guys to deliver, so even though they're in possession of the vehicle, they would find it very difficult meeting their daily target.

It's not that these businesses aren't lucrative, they are but because there are so many competitors, profit becomes very slim. This is why so many of them aren't making it.

If the country is working, people wouldn't be eager to do any kind of business, this means that businesses wouldn't be over saturated, so those doing it would easily prosper.

The country isn't working!

And I wonder how it will work any time soon with the kind of human resource harvesting thats going on right now in the name of immigration! It feels like a form of illegal and yet legal human mining.

All these countries are creating programs to lure the middle class, a good piece of that remaining 20% that should have been driving Nigerias economy.

I hope Tinubu's administration will choose an experienced and practical economist (and not a theorist) as well as seasoned banker for leadership in the economic/finance ministries and the CBN.

That potholes will be left unattended to, to the point they grow into craters only happens in under developed countries.

In the first place, when the roads are to be built, the correct quality and quantity of materials are used and only the right type of vehicles permitted to ply that road do so. They are also well designed so puddles don't collect on one spot and form potholes but rather drain away. We can go on.

In developed countries, the system of governance works so that potholes are immediately fixed to prevent further degradation. In some cases, citizens even report potholes to the authorities to get them fixed on time.

To your point, the bulk of these things, all that was mentioned, are prevalent in underdeveloped societies.

Career / Re: What Skill Can Call Member Learn During The Service Year ..? by Skii(m): 5:46pm On Jan 30, 2023
Murphy870:
Help, I’m a call member serving in Ibadan, i want to learn a skill but I’m confused about the type of skill to
lean and I don’t waste the whole year..All suggestions would be appreciated!

What an opportunity! And very good that you have asked. It means you are wise (or at least want to be) and don't want to make the mistake of fools. In no particular order, I will share part of my experience -what I did, what I wish I did and what I would advice (my opinion) based on what I now know...

1. From a vision/purpose point of view, the thing that you know that God created you to do is what you should start pursuing now. Start quickly, so you can fail early and fail fast (no shortcut to success. You must first jam block before you scale am). Once you have the early failures behind you, you path to success and success itself is assured.

2. If you are still unsure of point 1 at this stage, then go with the band wagon. Learn something tech related like someone has advised. But be weary of the dangers of easy layoffs and fierce competition. Except you are skilled enough to carve a niche for yourself (but you need these last 2 sentences in almost every endeavour)

3. Latch on to free training programs that these professional bodies offer corpers and students at discounted rates.

4. Belong to and actively participate in CDS groups. The skill will become invaluable in the future as, for example, things that you did outside your usual work when you are interviewing with an employer.

5. Depending on your religion, join NYSC Corpers Fellowship and do Rural Rugged. This one is for you to be rich towards God by sharing the truth of the gospel. And if you belong to another religion, do likewise.

6. Meet people and keep their details, especially those that you would consider better off than you are. Be close to one or two of them (not all, because people can be jerks las last). They may come in handy in the future.

7. If settling down is on your agenda, keep an eye out...many future and would be spouses are found during NYSC. Forget all this nonsense on social media. Good girls still dey.

8. BUY AND READ BOOKS. You would be surprised at the magic that is still in the tradition of reading. Forget all this online learning videos and courses. Not that they don't help, they do...but in my experience, nothing beats reading.

9. Make impact in your PPA. Add value, so that in the event the window of being retained opens up, your would be employer wouldn't think twice.

10. Catch cruise. Take life easy. Don't be too serious. Have fun, drink beer and flex (in moderation)

As stupid and as irrelevant as the opinion from this "actress/celebrity...whatever" is, I cannot but question the demand that gives rise to the supply in the first place.

Shout out to the silent, weak, morally devoid, morally corrupt and indisciplined men who covertly or overtly create this market in the first place.

But its a viscous cycle...to dabble into the downward spiral of unending reasons and excuses as to why this is so. From individual shortcomings, to inadequacies in parenting and upbringing, to decadence in society and ultimately government failure...gosh!
Romance / Re: Office Romance Gone Wrong by Skii(m): 7:29am On Jan 21, 2023
Op,

I trust that by now, you have learnt your lesson. "Don't shyt where you eat"

That being said, you can try the following:

1. Still keep her, the cleaner, in the loop of things till you can gradually douse the vibes between the two of you. Don't act strange or cowardly. Na man you be.

If you try to ignore her or give her distance, she will smell it and like someone has alluded previously "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" especially when they are streets.

2. You can run point 1 till the new employee, being a woman as well, detects the chemistry between you and the cleaner. That way, you will sacrifice the vibes between you and the new employee for your job security and sanity. Its a price you may pay for shytting where you eat in the first place.

3. With point 2 in progress, you can start your dissociation from the cleaner for total sanity and peace of mind.

Not point 4. If you are given to the dark arts (evil grin) set her up with another guy in your office to "catch them in the act". Bros over hoes. Then like a dog tied to your leash, you buy her silence forever, continue to shine her congo as you wish and even resume paroles unreservedly and with full throttle on your new employee.

5. But as per sey na diligent responsible man wey you be...ultimate advise is to free work related parole. They almost always don't go/end well. Your boss or other senior men fit don dey eye the new employee and God bless you if anyone of them be don dey shine the cleaner kongo... na there you go know sey you no get work. Then you go come open another thread for nairaland...

grin

Cost of this advise is $25 playstation gift card
