Romance / Re: Im Thinking Of Divorce Just Few Months Into Marriage by Skoopy(m): 6:22pm On Feb 02, 2020
Petyprincess:
The truth is your wife doesn't love you no more or never loved you!! Moreover why did you forced her into marriage with you? That's where the problem started.Nw the best way is to go your separate ways since the marriage is even early nd she's already gotten fed up with you,nw that you have no kids you still can still divorce nd let her continue her single life since that's what she always wanted!! If you dnt divorce she will keep on blaming you for forcing her into marriage when she wasn't ready. Its better divorcing that getting stalked in marriage that love isnt mutual!!

Are you married? Advice like this one drives me crazy. People who are being celebrated for staying long in marriage have experienced worse.

What the OP is complaining about is just a minor crises which can be sorted out by two willing adults who want to make their relationship work. I have experienced crises too in my home, but we both came out of it better individuals.

This needs very little effort to be fixed, believe me.

iCauseTrouble:

Do you care to share about the side hustle? Maybe we can learn one or two things

Bro. Immediately I joined the company I work with which is located in one of the NPA in the country (don't want to be very specific), as someone in need of wealth, I saw that many companies were inside the port, something stroke my thoughts and i said to myself, I can provide a service to one or two of this companies. Hence during my 1hour of lunch, I would visit one company to introduce myself and what I can do for them(note: I'm still a staff of another company).

By this, I took advantage of my work environment and went into service provision and supplies. I had to employ 2 persons since I was engaged full time. Weeks turned months and subsequently years, I saw my initial capital of 300,000 grow up to millions. I pay both staffs 120,000 monthly (one staff with BSC 80k/ month and the OND staff 40k).

Today my business is a multi-million naira supply chain business with intention to grow even further. With time, I'll resign and concentrate fully on it.

Look around you, there is something you can do for an extra income.

Note: the breakthrough job I had was to design their chemical store, since I studied chemical engineering I knew the properties of various chemicals and applied same in my design, it indeed provided me with a breakthrough into the company.

Goodplace:
Pls advice... If a person is earning 130k Monthly and having the intention of getting married soonest and paying rent of 270k/ yearly can he consider that job a good one and moreover can he get married comfortably?

My salary is 177,000.
My rent (2bedroom flat all ensuit) is 505,000
I'm married with 2 kids, of which the first is schooling and school fees paid.

The only thing I did differently from many other salary earners out there was to diversify. Hence I make minimum of 200,000 in addition to my salary each month. All you need do is safe some money, think out of the box and invest wisely for additional income.

Note: I married 4 yrs ago with an income of 100k only, No other source of income. But with careful planning and God's favour, today things have Changed as we live very comfortably.

Travel / Re: Diary Of A Nigeria Student Living In Saint Petersburg, Russia. by Skoopy(m): 5:58am On Aug 21, 2019
TochiPhotos:
Hi everyone, welcome to my diary. Many of you might remember me from my previous diary about my life in Moscow, Russia. I moved to Saint Petersburg from Moscow and I've decided to open a dedicated thread to document my life as a foreign student in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

I’m a Nigerian student, I study at the Higher School of Economics Saint Petersburg Russia. This thread will basically document and share my life and daily experiences living in Saint Petersburg, Russia. I hope you guys will enjoy and find my diary interesting.

Chapter 1 - The second coming.

I moved to Saint Petersburg from Moscow towards the end of 2018 and it was mostly because the Saint Petersburg campus had suitable programs entirely taught in english, whilst the Moscow program only had Masters programs in English. The other option would have been to continue studying in Russian language at the Moscow campus, but here is the tricky thing. My university is a very prestigious university in Russia (Top 3 in the country) and the standards are very high. There is this thing in my university called dopsa, so if you fail 3 exams in a year, you'll be expelled from the university and deported. So that means that out of 14 to 20 courses in an academic year, you can't fail 3 courses or you'll be expelled and deported as soon as possible. So I basically moved to Saint Petersburg to study in English because I do not know enough Russian to study entirety in Russian language and not fall behind in class. So my moving to Saint Petersburg was strategic.

A little about Saint Petersburg.

Before I begin, I want guys to know that words alone are not enough to describe how beautiful Saint Petersburg is. I honestly do not have enough adjectives to describe how magical and beautiful this city is. I've lived in Saint Petersburg for over a year now and I'm still awe struck. The center of Saint Petersburg is a Unesco heritage site and there are so many beautiful monuments and buildings all around the center. The center of Saint Petersburg and the city in itself is an architectural masterpiece.

Some nights when I'm sad or worried about something, I just take a quick stroll down the historical city center. Nevsky propekt is so beautiful at night, brilliantly decorated lights, amazing architecture and so on... It's the city of dreams and there is no headache or worry that taking a walk here cannot heal. Saint Petersburg is simply magical and I am a bit sad that I might have failed to accurately describe how beautiful this city is and I hope the videos and pics that will come later will be better.

Life in Saint Petersburg vs Moscow

I've lived in the two cities and I honestly prefer Saint Petersburg. Apart from being the most liberal and European most city of Russia, Saint Petersburg is just not beautiful but people here are much nicer than in Moscow. Saint Petersburg and Moscow are two contrasting cities, Moscow can be likened to Lagos, chaotic, busy and over populated. While Saint Petersburg can be likened to calmer cities like Enugu, Abuja or Calabar. Life is much easier and simpler here than in Moscow and most importantly, things are cheaper too than in Moscow. But like every other city, Saint Petersburg has its disadvantages too. Because of its proximity to the baltic sea, the winter is much more brutal here. It's windier and colder here than in Moscow. I'll do a more comprehensive comparison of the two cities in the future but I'll always advise prospective students to pick Saint Petersburg over Moscow.

Racism.

I know many people are curious about this. I can't pretend or lie racism doesn't exist in Russia but Saint Petersburg is the most liberal city in Russia, so even though some kind of subtle systematic racism exists here, it is still the most welcoming city for foreigners in Russia. I will do a more in depth video or post about racism in Russia in the near future.

Black in Russia.

Like other cities in Russia, it's still difficult to see black people here. Maybe because those that came in illegally during the last world cup don't leave their apartments. But that aside, I think Saint Petersburg has a higher number of black people than other Russian cities. My university has at least 40 or more African students here at the Saint Petersburg Campus.

Last Semester, my university held its annual Culture fest and I was invited to represent Nigeria at the HSE Culture day 2019. I prepared jollof rice and at the end of the culture fest, my jollof rice was adjudged the best food at the fest. It was really exciting to know that many people were genuinely interested in learning about Nigeria's culture, food and way of life. I'll post pics from the event below.

Also with me were my friends Florence and her younger Sister Grace. They both go to my university and they are really wonderful people. Words alone are not enough to describe how amazing Florence and her Sister are. I remember last winter, I caught a cold, I couldn't breathe properly and I honestly thought I won't make it through the night but Florence and her Sis sat by my bed all night, with aboniki balm and prayed fervently for me till I fell asleep and when I woke up in the morning, I was better.
They're super amazing and you guys will see more of them soon.

Also, I just opened a YouTube channel called Afro Rossiya TV. My aim is to document and share my first hand experience as a black foreign student in Russia so please subscribe to my channel.
This is my second video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNAACpu7znM I went on the streets of Saint Petersburg and asked Russians how they feel about Africans and Foreigners in their country so please watch, like and share my videos please. The opening of the video also has some aerial shots I took in Saint Petersbug.

Follow on Instagram https://instagram.com/afrorossiyatv/ and Twitter https://twitter.com/afrorossiyatv

I will write in this thread then share videos on my YouTube channel so abeg make una follow me all platforms.

So this is the beginning and welcome once again to my diary.

Peace and Love always.

Tochi long time, how school and your parents... Onyeka and your siblings? Say me hi to all. Very best wishes from me, I'm proud to see you this way. Regards.

Politics / Re: The Full List Of All The 371 Tribes In Nigeria by Skoopy(m): 8:40am On Aug 16, 2019
Nice one OP.... But I think some tribes may have been represented more than once.

Eg. Ejagham, Ekoi, Etung -all in cross river.

Etung is not a tribe, it's a local government in cross River State with ejagham as it's local dialect.

Meanwhile, Ejagham people are also known as Ekoi people who originated from the BANTU TRIBE in WEST/CENTRAL AFRICA(modern Cameroon/parts of Nigeria bordered with Cameroon) .

This below in cross River State are Ekoi people.
1) Etung
2) Parts of Ikom (Ofutop, Akparabong, Nude)
3) parts of Ogoja (Ishiburi, Bansara) .

I will want to disbelieve what the Army is saying for only one reason... That is, though everyone know the NPF are unreasonable, they won't be STUPID to engage the Nigerian Army in gun battle, for obvious reasons being that they will end up being the casualties.

VC sounded unreasonable with this piece, is there anytime the students were briefed on the terms of using the bridge? Where they notices detailing the VCs explanations pasted before or on the bridge? They are just trying to shy away from the blame and putting same on the death.
