Simply Alfy: Please I'm in real dismay,first I must thank and praise you for this thread. Now the cause for my dismay;while trying to fix a memory hardware(Ram) to upgrade my laptop computer at a time showed me a BSOD then afterwards it comes on but doesn't boot(fan rolls,hard drive clicks,)other indicator light comes on except the processor light,but I got to know of the hold down the on button for 30secs without,I gues it worked cos my laptop powered up for couple of mins then went off. Now,the laptop after a while comes on for the first time but after couple of mins goes off and subsequent turn on doesn't go pass booting before going off.please I really need help,cos this not happening at this time when I am flat broke and really need a pc,hope it isn't motherboard issue.waiting on ur response.Thank you so much.

Is it possible to get another memory and try it? The symptoms you saying sounds familiar to memory problems. Maybe the ram you kept is not compatible or something.

Click start ---Right click "My computer"------select properties

It will bring out an interface which when you scroll down, you'll see a button which will ask you to activate windows.

If there is no product key there, check under your laptop or around the side, you find a sticker that has the window's logo on it. the product key is on that sticker,type it in and activate.

If you cant find the activation key, contact your dealer

To be honest, you better off given it to someone who knows more about resolving computer issues as you will need to boot your computer in command prompt,check if your computers supports usb without windows and use some command instructions to copy your files TO usb

if you cant, Move your mouse around ,click and let me know what you can access?

This is quite strange if you cant do anything in "safemode". You might have to re-install but that's the last option

Find the file Winspool.drv file Right-click and then click Rename.
Type "winspool.drv.old", (just add ".old" to it) and then press ENTER.
Restart the computer.

Sorry i am a bit confused. Did you select "safemode" from the list?

If you did. it would take you into windows environment back. The normal screen you usually see and safe mode will be written on the 4 corners of the screen

log in as administrator. you should put your password in there if you have one

restart your PC and keep tapping F8 till it gives you option where you select safemode.

Na wa oo. No one is even trying to give advise to guy's sister in regards to her school issue

i will advice she should appeal against the professor's decision. i have seen things like this happen when i was in school. deadline was 3pm and you have to submit e-copy and hard copy together. if you are on the queue at 3.01pm, you wont be allowed in. You will be told you had enough weeks to prepare and finish up and not just on the deadline date.

My advice is for her to appeal against the decision.There is a form you will have to fill to explain why you could not submit on time. This type of thing happened to a guy i know who did not submit on time and was not allowed to submit . He was allowed later but the stamp "late" was kept on his essay. That is 60% gone. He appealed against it (cant remember if this is what its called). He gave lots of reason like sickness,blah blah and stuff and fortunately for him, he went to see a doctor during the time he was doing his report so he provided letter from doctor. He was allowed to re do the project but he did not pay any fee.

Tell your sister to ask around to find out how she can appeal in her school. she has to be smart about it.

Also, your sister wont pay full tuition fee if its just one module.

Definitely a virus attack. If you dont have any important data inside,i would suggest you re-install windows. that's the easiest but if you got files in it,try and see if you can force fully install another antivirus to scan. like malwarebyte. that what i use at work and its works fine.

mcvities: I bought an Hp G72 laptop but after booting i discovered that it does not have bluetooth, please, i want to know whether is it that the Bluetooth hardware (onboard Bluetooth) is not there or do i have to do any upgrade so that the bluetooth can start functioning. please i really need help on this issue. if it is hardware issue, how do i solve this problem. thanks

why not buy a USB bluetooth and attach it to it?
