which one is Akan people again?

Are u saying their are some truths to wat the Ashanti man was saying?
Akan is the name of their ethnicity. There are truths such that there are some similar words in both languages. And also the language structure is very similar. But the similarities to the best of my knowledge end with the language. No much similarities in culture, for example they are matriarchal society.

This is wat the Ashanti man told me.

He appears to have worked for Ifeanyi Uba and Ekweremadu.

He knows dem and their family personally.

He said Asanti and Igbos share a common origin and were separated during migration from North Africa.

They are both children of Israel abi na Jews.

He said till this day both languages share similarities and Igbos look like Ashanti in physical appearance.

Some of the language similarities are; Bia or Bra, both come.

Echi or Echina both mean tomorrow.

He mentioned many more that i cannot remember and referenced to similarities in our names such as Nwosu and Owusu.
That's the Akan people of Ghana. I've observed interesting similarities too. But I'd opine these similarities existed before a Hebrew migration into the Igbo area.

So we should argue with the correct facts.

The Ikwerre were active collaborators to the Ijaws, go and ask well. A good number of Ikwerre people benefited from that policy, and they were happy with the whole event.

Stop painting the Ijaws as villains. They didn't do anything that Ikwerres were not in support of.
It was some Ikwerres sons who led the FG forces to capture Biafran soldiers, Oriji played active role, likewise Elechi Amadi.
It was Ikwerres who requested to be part of Rivers state with Ijaws right after the war, Oriji led that agitation too.

We can't continue living in delusions, no group ever progressed by lying to themselves. It's 50yrs since after the war already.
The Igboids were active partners to the Ijaws, it was a partnership built on Igbophobia that was always going to collapse once the Igbos were out of the picture.

I don't know who did this thing to Ndiigbo. But I'm going to try to jolt us back to our senses.
Nope nope nope. Not true. There were a number of turncoats during the war, what was known as Sabo. These were the greedy few who sold out their people for personal gains. Some were Igbo in the new Rivers State looking to cash in, true. But there were sabos throughout Igbo land during the war, not restricted to the Rivers area. You may not know but the name "Sabo" was not restricted to Igbo turncoats. Anybody who sabotaged the war effort was Sabo, whether Ijaw, Igbo, Nkoro etc. Elechi Amadi was one of such fellows. He was a major figure then and the Federal Forces played on his greed and used him against the wider Igbo to push a separate Ikwerre ethnicity. Stupid man.

And Rivers was created right before the war bro. To further destabilize the already shaky relationship between the Igbo and the minorities and to weaken the Igbo heartland. Get your dates right. wink

If the groups therein weren't Igbo already, Michael Okpara wouldn't have cited the Garden City there. Remember Garden City was the Igbo answer to Lagos.

A lot has happened sha.

Pazienza nwanne m, u need to listen for once.

U are right but others are also right too.

SlayerForeve, u nailed it.
Thanks.

Ikwerre couldn't have been the main actors in the abandoned property saga. It is impossible. Ikwerre were a group that suddenly found themselves in a new Rivers State by a mere pronouncement by Gowon. After the war the Ijoid groups who were mostly jubilant with the situation with the backing of the Nigerian government jumped on people's properties. It didn't end there. The Igboid groups had to live under the deathly grip of the Ijoid people in the new Rivers State for a good 29 years!!! Sometimes, as someone from the South East it's easy to throw stones at the Ikwerre and other groups but they got it way worse and it has made them agressively political.

Understanding the background situation sometimes go a long way in explaining things.

I think it's a huge error to always pull out that abandoned property card against the Ikwerre who couldn't have been actors in it. They lost the war too along with the rest of the Igbo.

It's just today a lot of them are wallowing in ignorance and selfloathing.
Politics › Re: I Didnt Know Gov Nyesom Wike Is Of Igbo Descent by SlayerForever: 6:23pm On Mar 26, 2020
Argue who is whatever but you need to stop revising history. Ikwerre were not instigators of the abandoned property saga. At the creation of Rivers in '67 Ikwerre were not a dominant force. The Ijoid groups held sway in the new Rivers State and with the support of federal forces snatched properties from their owners. Very lazy bunch. The Ijoid people lay the foundation for the thriving anti-Igbo sentiment in the state and to get a hold of power in the State the Igboid groups started playing the same game.

Victorblaze14:
For the avoidance of doubt, here is the actual timeline and words of Prophet TB Joshua:
On Saturday, 29th February 2020, he said "a shower of rain would fall to wipe away all fears of the unknown."
On Sunday 1st March 2020, he specifically mentioned 27th March 2020 said, "It will go the way it came" - clearly inferring to coronavirus but not explicitly mentioning its name.
On Monday 2nd March 2020, he clarified that he was praying for rain to fall in the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak - Wuhan, China. On that Monday, rain fell heavily in Wuhan - despite it not being the regular season for rain - and the cases of coronavirus began to steadily drop throughout the region.
As of today, Thursday 26th March 2020 - there have been no NEW cases of coronavirus in Wuhan, China - and China have lifted most travel restrictions in the Hubei region as the disease has effectively been defeated there.
In a letter to President Trump on Thursday 12th March 2020, TB Joshua reiterated: "The noise of coronavirus will be silenced before the end of this month" and in subsequent programmes, he has stressed that the real issue lies in fear, not the disease itself.
So, to clarify, he said that "it would go the way it came" without medical intervention by 27th March 2020 - which has been confirmed as the disease has now gone in Wuhan, China (where it first came) without any vaccine being discovered.
The area of 'the noise of coronavirus being silenced is increasingly coming to fruition as medical doctors have made great advances in testing for suitable medical treatment as well as a vaccine - and the fact that China overcame has provided hope to the rest of the world that it is not as life-threatening as initially thought. After all, the majority of casualties are the extremely frail and elderly or those with pre-existing conditions.
Let's not jump on the media bandwagon of quoting a shared Facebook article regarding TB Joshua's words but see for ourselves. The full content is available on his YouTube channel for anyone who wishes to delve deeper.

Would a survivor of Covid 19 be infected again if exposed to the virus?
Very unlikely. The body will build an immunity to it.

However, the local manufacturers, my brothers, should also keep a mind on safety while at it.

I've been with the Igbophobic elements from Anioma too and I can tell you it's all ignorance. They can see the obvious similarities with the rest of the Igbo nation and they find it very compelling. Sometimes they drop their guards and relate freely. Time and circumstances will reset all these identity crises, they are all IGBO.

I don't think the Ikwerre were instigators of the abandoned property saga. That sounds like gross misinformation.
