Culture › Re: Evidence That The Igbos Are The Oldest Group In The South Lies Along The Coasts by SlayerForever(op): 4:41pm On Nov 27, 2021
If in doubt of the Igbo language's presence in this other tribes tongue one can carry out an independent investigation to verify this claim.

Culture › Evidence That The Igbos Are The Oldest Group In The South Lies Along The Coasts by SlayerForever(op): 4:33pm On Nov 27, 2021
This language map shows what the coast may have looked like perhaps a thousand years ago.

In the map there are 47 languages scattered across the coast. Out of that 47 about 42 were either partly formed from Igbo and other languages or have Igbo descent. This may support the fact that many other tribes met the Igbos on the coast and thus were influenced by the enduring Igbo tongue as they stayed close to the Igbos. Also many were formed by one Igbo ancestor and another non Igbo ancestor. Check Yakurr ethnicity.

If Igbo impacted so much languages it is likely they were the biggest tribe around. Much much much bigger than Nigeria wants people to believe. There is reason to believe that the Igbo tribe occupied an area far and wide into present day Yorubaland. And a recent research by an Igbo linguist Maazi Ogbonna Okoro revealed that the Igbo area still stretches far into Kogi state to the North. If the Igbo area was so large it is only probable that they occupied the nearly the entire coastline down south. Along with the Efik people(another very old tribe). These other small tribes along the coast with languages numbering near 50 probably came around later on from external migrations. Or may have been brought by Igbos from their far journeys in other lands. There is also the possibility they existed in their area all the while with the Igbos but didn't have the vigoristy or influence of the Igbos, and the Igbo wide population spread didnt allow them grow in population much. Those who are big today absorbed a lot of Igbos and it shows in their large number of Igbo speakers today.

Depends. There's also the Igbani alternative.

On the side, those who don't know Abua, Andoni, Okrika, Bonny can see their locations on this fine map. Let's remember Abua has just officially exited Ijaw National Council.

We can also see how far away Bayelsa Izon is claiming Bonny and Opobo. How na? grin

Politics › Igbo And Ibani Language In Bonny by SlayerForever(op): 3:34pm On Nov 27, 2021
I'm researching on the dual language spread in Bonny. I've not gotten much but it would seem in Bonny's heydays the Kingdom expanded into Kalabari territory to the west through war and greater influence. This may account for a more pronounced "Ibani" presence there today.

However, the cause of the friction today is not whether the Bonny kingdom expanded into Kalabari or not. The issue is Izon people using the Kalabari to manipulate the Igbo founders of Bonny into dropping their Igbo identity through state politics during and after the war and up to this moment.

Both the Kalabari Ibani people and the Izon in Bayelsa know quite well the Bonny area was founded and governed by the Ndoki subtribe of the Igbo nation before Bonny expanded into their side. Hence they can't claim Bonny confidently so they go through the kingship, fabricating Perekule and all that gibberish.

The problem now is the language. The Ibani there call Igbo bush language and Igbo in the hinterland bush people. Well, technically we are "bush" people thanks to the dense rain forest we were blessed with by Chukwunna. They can't seem to eliminate the bush language and it has remained a bone in their throats.

Okrikans are ijaws talking about being mix or not, Every tribe and ethnic groups in Nigeria are all mixed including igbos. So what are you driving at Mr?
Igbos are not mixed. Okrika is a mix of Ijaw, Igbo etc to make a unique tribe. Some practices in Okrika are not found in Izon and vice versa.

You did not make any face saving propaganda, I checked your contributions on the thread and it was more of Igbo exceptionalism and perfectionism, I had to figure out a way to mention you we really need to get on solution and only engage in tribal fights on our leasures they would be shocked on our approaches, all roads leads to Rome
One thing I've discovered is that, though the online arguments are not as impactful as an on the spot sensitisation it still helps the Igbo course. Though on a slower pace.

People actually see this arguments.

They are not yorubas , not igbos ,not ijaws not akwa cross n not even a mix of any

They are totally absolutely unique

Abua .. unique people tho
They are related to Efiks like Andoni
Politics › Re: Abua National Council Aplauds Ijaw Council For Deleting Abua As Ijaw Clan by SlayerForever: 9:41am On Nov 27, 2021
For those who don't know, Abua history tells of a migration from either Cameroon or the Efik area thousands of years ago. It is even possible the Izon met the small Abua group on the coast on their arrival. So it us insulting to say that Abua is Ijaw.

This is only the beginning of the destruction of the Ijaw hegemony in the Niger Delta.
