Well.
The Ibibio and Annang are getting greedy in this Ibom independent country by thinking they can cut off their brothers in Cross River after stripping them of their oil through legal litigations( not many people Know that Cross River currently don't produce a single ounce of oil, she lost all her offshore fields to Akwaibom in a bitter legal battle).

What they(Ibibio/Annang) don't know is that Ibeno and Eastern Obolo people don't see themselves as Ibibio. They had developed their own independent ethnicities and are constantly bickering about Ibibio and Annang using their oil wealth to develop Uyo and Ikot Ekpene.

If you conduct a referendum today in Akwaibom, the Obolo and Ibeno people would vote for their own independent state, (the Ijaws are even there in Ibeno and Obolo, introducing more trouble) Likewise the Oron. Take away Eastern Obolo and Oron from Akwaibom and Akwaibom will become "almost" (Ikot Abasi has access to ocean though) landlocked and would lose all her current offshore oil claim.

The way I see it, the Ibibio/Annang are the beneficiaries of current Nigerian arrangement.
If they push their luck too much with this Ibom country thing, Nigerian government who gave them Akwa Ibom will take it away by giving autonomy to Obolo and Ibeno and instigating Ibibiophobia there.
Oron already have their own follow come Ibibiophobia and always wanted to be with Efiks who they are more related with.

Ibibio are not in position to be chanting Ibom republic and be greedily excluding Cross River while counting on Ibeno and Obolo oil wealth that doesn't belong to Ibibios.
It's madness.

I hope they realize early and stop the greed by going back to the more inclusive AkwaCross union that we( Ndiigbo) always wanted to see.

I attached the map of Akwaibom for you to see my point.
Atleast 90% of Akwaibom oil wealth is offshore. They don't have much onshore oil Wells. Take away Eastern Obolo and Ibeno and Oron who are not Ibibios and it's game over!
Hmm. Very critical arrangement.

But they can all sit together and have agreements concerning distribution of the oil wealth.

However, I've not seen or heard much concerning Ibeno and Obolo wanting a separate entity. Oron, yes.

The derivation matter is the biggest tragedy. The same north that Boro connived with to fight the Eastern region are the ones that totally erased resource control. From 50% up until the time of Ironsi, when Gowon took over he removed it totally by 1969. By the time Shagari took over it was 1% derivation
They have virtually lost everything. But you know what the real kicker is, his people if given the opportunity will repeat exactly what Boro did: get in bed with the North again!!!

Good and fine.
But you have to know you have your own "Ikwerre" problem right in Ibeno and Eastern Obolo.
If given the choice to choose, they would cut you Ibibio and Annang off and proclaim independence too, like you Ibibios have cut Cross River off.
So I would advise you all calm down.
I hope this your quest for Ibom country is not hinged on offshore oil wealth in Ibeno and Eastern Obolo, because you might get a rude awakening.
Be sure you are ready to still have this Ibom country with or without Eastern Obolo and Ibeno, because the way I see it, that's likely going to be the outcome. The FG will simply give Eastern Obolo and Ibeno autonomy from you hinterland Annang and Ibibios, and your game will be up.
And the Oron seem to want their own independence too.
There was an Oron guy here in 2009 who was campaigning for Oron independent country, and you have to know that Oron feel more affiliated to Efik than to you Ibibios and Annangs.
From my angle here, your Ibom country is standing on shaky ground and wouldn't be very hard to squash using fissure lines already existing the state by deploying efficient divide and rule tactics.
So Ibom republic get all these matter. Wahala plenty o. grin grin grin

But I hear it is only Igbos that don't love themselves. Ndi apari grin

no.. am on the moon for for this great news... my fight was that no single south south tribe form republic with biafra...

my mission of preachin the niger delta republic was to frustrate arrogant ipob work since 2012...

i have been advicing every other south south tribe secretly to form tribal republics... i advice many ibibios and efiks to go for akwacross republic...but i dont know why they come up with just ibom...
i think the people of cross rivers need my preaching very well..

as long as i adakaboro8 is alive no south south tribe will join useless biafra..

Buy landed property at Uyo now that's still affordable. Lagos is congested. Calabar weather is better but town is tiny. Uyo weather is harsher than Calabar but it's a more advanced town with better roads than most States.

There's little connection today between Opobo, Bonny and Alaigbo. Ijaw has roped all of them in cry

As for Ogoni, I don't know for sure.

Story story. Biafra of old doesn't exist and will never exist again.
What we have now Is Alaigbo republic ,ibom republic though Efik will most likely join them, ijaw republic ,ogoni nation. Ikwerre will remain with Nigeria or join Alaigbo or ijaw republic and be dealt with. Those fools will pay for their treachery if they ever join Alaigbo republic and ijaw will deal with them as they did in old rivers state.

Ikwerre fools will pay dearly and will lose their land to either ijaw or Alaigbo republic because we will send them to Benin . They are Benin migrants and will be sent back to Benin sooner or later.
Guy this your comment too sweet grin grin grin

All six states of south south should form a country, but with a very weak center. Don’t let this IPOB deceive you. There is strength in numbers. They are only happy because they know they can bully you if you form small insignificant countries, which they can later take over. See how they are rejoicing on IBOM republic.

Also you will have significant international investors if you have a huge population to attract them.

^^^ This news portends another problem. No Niger Delta republic for Benin, Urhobo/Isoko/Itsekhiri and Ika/Ndokwa anymore. There's a small hope this subset can form a country though. But Oduduwa looms large from the West grin grin grin.

we Niger delta republic (ijaw gang) have gone silent.Anyone who knows Akwaibom and cross river people will know that they won't subscribe to that Niger delta republic- they will go solo.

As for opobo- it's royal house will determine its future- nobody else. So who ever wins them over carries the day
The ikwerre man's best option is for a united Nigeria- because in any division, the will definitely loss obigbo and egbema .Making them a minority whichever republic the join.
Very funny situation they find themselves. Ibom will never accept them. They won't dare go with Ijaw republic. They are being chased by their shadows in Igbo affairs: There is an innate fear in Ikwerre that Igbo will pay them back should they find themselves in an Igbo only Biafra. Problem plenty o grin grin grin

Chai, see analysis. Nobody wants to associate with Hausa Fulani, yet the president says the leaders from these regions are in support of "one Nigeria".
Good questions are "who are the leaders supporting this union that doesn't work?" and "How much are they paid?"
If I say the people spoiling this country the thread will be derailed.

Have you not noticed that in this Nigeria, only Igbo really have foresight? If this shithole had given Igbo leverage to lead them, they'd have been out of doldrum long ago, but hatred and jealousy won't let them. The Igbo country will shock Africans and the world.
After 50 years plus it is now the others are catching on. It's annoying to be in the same space as slow thinkers.

Believe me, all those years of Ijaw machination to claim those places can be overturned with just one month of intensive Igbo moves to reclaim that space. Ndoki Igbos, with whom umu Ubani feel the most kinship, will be the spearhead of such a move. Ijaws will stand no chance
Fingers crossed. I do hope for a positive outcome for us.
