orjohn24: So according to you, it is impossible to have a technical service outage for two days. I hear you. Not worth continuing this back and forth with you because how does asking people to submit at DHL fix the service outage? Please have a nice day! |

Bkoks: I've waited almost a month for biometrics confirmation despite multiple submissions on the web form. VFS claims to have submitted it, but the system shows "application requires biometrics." I've attached the confirmation slip on web form but response is they haven't received it. What else can I do? My friend’s mum had this same issue and she ultimately got denied. They had to re-apply and reach out to people that worked in VFS via LinkedIn before it was resolved. Not to scare you but try to look for contacts at VFS that you can speak directly to. Wish you the best. |

orjohn24: My brother submited for passport stamping after permanent resident approval in same lagos last week and no issue , vfs is not even connected with dhl as a company so who did you pay ur 22500 as courier fee ? In nigeria becos of our corrupt system nd mindset we see every excuse as a fraud even without proper investigation of root cause! I’m not sure what you’re on about. I shared mine + my friend’s experience which you did not witness and asked if anyone else has experienced it and you go on full mode defensive. VFS is not connected with DHL but they have shared services, no? If you think Nigerians would not find a way to exploit it, then you’re just being dishonest. For anyone else going to submit their passports, please be aware of the racket going on and don’t fall for it. |

Lanrebobokay: Lagos Price is better ooo 22k lolllll Abuja wont allow 3rd party Passport collection if you cant come in person to pick up you are ask to do DHL and pay 40k plus No, it was submission, not pickup. In this instance, he was actually at the VFS office. They told him no network and directed him to DHL downstairs where he had to pay. Doesn’t make sense to me that VFS doesn’t have network but DHL can accept passports… which is why I think it’s a racket. I don’t think they allow 3rd party collection in Lagos as well. |

orjohn24: No racketing becos system is down and they give you option to drop at dhl or come back another day for submission Oh I see. Looks like the system is down everyday because this was yesterday and today (different instances). They are literally charging each person 22,500. |

I think there’s a racket going around with passport submission in the Lagos Centre. My brother got into the centre to submit and was told there was no network and he had to use DHL. My friend called me and said her driver was told to pay the same.
Has anyone else experienced the same? |

My mum’s PPR is finally out… 3 days shy of 6 months. I sent another webform and sent a message to the Member of Parliament yesterday so that may have pushed it out. I’m a PR btw.
For those that have been waiting longer than 5 months, you may explore those options.
Cheers. |

technix: It's largely a matter of luck. It takes 6 months to process 80% of applications. So, some would be faster and some slower than the 6 months. I did visiting visa applications for two people recently. The first person (who had never travelled before) was approved in 2 weeks, and the second (who had travelled to Saudi Arabia) in 4 months. I’ll have to agree that luck plays a huge part in the processing times. Applied for my mum since October, and haven’t gotten any feedback yet. Applied for my mother-in-law last month and she already has her PPR. Pretty much same profile - both 60+, both retired, both 100% sponsored & invited by us and both zero travel history in the last 10 years. As much as many people think they ‘know’ or understand IRCC, they don’t. |

Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Sleek05(f): 4:33pm On Feb 06, 2025 |
Sholzyy: Thank you so much for your support. I will not apply soon since the visit is for my Christmas leave.
Like I state on my post, my 6 months salary is less than 3M and I have 29+M in my 2 accounts with I submitted both.
I also have travel history which I don’t abuse my stays. The longest I have stayed in a Schengen country is 5 days and UK is 3months and that’s because it was for study.
I really want a clarity on the statement “The applicant's current employment situation does not show that they are financially established in their country of residence”… considering that ‘they’ was used, please are they referring to my job or myself?
My husband said they are probably referring to my job since I’m the only one that applied and he doubts if the ‘they’ for used for me. Please I need clarification on this and how to address this in my next reapplication.
Thanks ‘They’ is a gender neutral term commonly used in the western world. Because they do not know your pronouns, they safely use ‘they’ for everybody. In your case, it means ‘she’. I think the previous comment has summarized the possible reason for your rejection. Your salary is low and the VO probably calculated 6 months of your salary for this trip which can cause doubts about your intent. I wish you all the best with future applications. |

Have you gotten it back now? 3 months is an incredibly long time to wait. Vuproff: Please what did you do to get yours back. I submitted on the 3rd of January. Last update was on the 13 of January. That It has arrived tge accra office for processing. This is 3 months now and no updates yet. I have called, chatted and sent multiple emails and even raised web forms. All I get as response is that the passport is still under processing. Just yesterday, I had sent In mails requesting for the return of my passport either stamped or not for other urgent use. I am yet to get a real response apart from the auto reply mail acknowledging the mail.
Please oh, I need advice on what to do. 3 months for an application that took less that 5 months for approval and ppr and all green checks on all fileds. Please it is 3 months and counting. God abeg oh. 🙏 |

I’m yet to get anything tho, I’ve refreshed my email like a million times since I saw this. I tracked it too, it’s still giving that same response. I’ll keep checking it IRCC / VFS have a mind of their own when it comes to passports. I know people that submitted after me in Abuja and got their passports back since last week. So sorry for the expense you had to incur. Your passport is coming soon. Please keep us posted. |

I am applying for SINP but I am kind of confused. I studied English Language and I am currently working with an Advertising Company in Lagos.
I am confused on the NOC Code.
Please can someone help me out It depends on your current role... but if you are an advertising specialist, choose 0124 if you are a manager or 1123 if you are not. Do your research and choose what works best for your role. BTW, this is the old NOC system which I applied and got PPR with. I know its been changed to a teer system so you may want to check that as well. |

Let's all stay positive and hope for the best. gbems90: Good morning house, I got passport request December 12 and I forwarded my passport and all documents to Ghana through Vfs Lagos on the 13th. The last update I got was since December 22nd, when the passport got to Ghana Visa Office. Up until now, I’ve not gotten any update. I called Vfs Lagos last week and I was told my passport is still at Ghana Canada Embassy which is the same information I get when I track it on their website. It says “ your processed passport has been forwarded to the Canada Visa office on 22/12/2022”
