Hi guys... I'm putting this here because I don't know the best place to. Kindly help out because I think I'm running crazy. I bought this POLYSTAR washing machine from Konga. I ordinarily would not buy one as small as that but it looked big and the picture said it was 8kg so I thought it was a good deal. After getting a plumber who milked me dry to fix it, I operated it. I've been using my parent's washing machine for a while so I know how a washing machine works @ least. I tried to operate this and it washed well, however, the drainer has a mind of its own. While I'm washing, the water drains off sometimes. Sometimes the water stays even after washing. There is no knob or button whatsoever to control it. Funny thing is the manuals asks to select 'wash rinse' or 'drain' from the drain selector which doesn't exist. In d labelling of a skeletal diagram, they do not label any drain selector for me to see that it is there. Any1 used this kinda sick washing machine? How do u operate it? Because I feel like I'm going crazy. |

Hi Nairalanders, I need an answer to this mystery. I attended an interview last week Tuesday after being recommended by a friend of mine. The company recruiting used an external HR person for the recruitment. After an interview with the HR Manager, she directed me to the client and the interview with the client was superb. It was more like a conversation and assured me that I got the job. Asked me when I could start and did a run down of what my major duties will be. He asked me to send my CV as soon as I could and he'll send my appointment letter before February 2nd, my resumption date. He even introduced me to his other colleagues as the new to-be-hired staff. I called the HR Manager to inform her of the outcome as she requested me to and she told me to copy her when I send my CV to the client and that she will do the paper work and send. All these happened on Tuesday. Then my reference called me to say she called to give a positive feedback after the interview with me. By Thursday, I hadn't gotten any letter and I called the client who told me to call the HR Manager. I didn't hear what she said well, All I heard was i'll get back to you. I had little doubts but when I remembered the guy's assurance and conversation, the doubts cleared. I sent a reminder email this morning as I still had not received any letter, only for the HR Manager to inform me that they are still conducting interviews for other candidates. I was dumbfounded!!! What could have happened? Nairalanders, HR Managers.... is this the new trend? I'm super confused! |
Hi everyone. Kindly confirm and agree on price and be clear on it before accepting to work on any writing job. It may shock you to know how minute and inconsequential the compensation can be. A word is always enough. |
Hoping keh? U get ur result immediately after writing the test. I wrote it yesterday. |
I don't understand why Lordmykel, whoever that is, is joking with this matter and trying to trivialise it. I get it, he's probably guilty of same and is using whatever 'playful' means to save face. I think that's silly. It's much better to be quiet, you don't have to comment on every thread. This is no trivial issue. @ op, the level of abuse in this country is way overboard. It has gotten from bad to worse overnight with the rotten stories of older men sleeping with younger girls. And it is because the generation before us has chosen to keep quiet about it for so long that it has eaten deep into the fabrics of our community. One in five girls in Nigeria has been abused (I stand to be corrected) mostly from cousins, neighbours, uncles, brother's friends etc I've gotten so scared of this abuse tingy, I was carrying a 2 year old girl in church on Sunday. Some guys, about 12/13 years old wanted to carry her and relieve me, I vehemently refused. Not so much because I wanted the girl all to myself but because I was scared. Parents, please don't shy away from this, it is real and it happens everywhere. EDUCATE YOUR KIDS! |
Pls get a nanny, not a little maid. You don't know what these kids are capable of when you turn your backs. |
Good Morning Nairalanders, I resigned from my job a couple of months ago and while waiting for another job, I decided to take a few freelance writing jobs. I saw a couple of vacancies on this forum and decided to apply. I got them. Now, the first one needed an Academic writer. I have a Masters degree and so that was no problem. I did the job and submitted after two days, all about 15 pages. I made one mistake however, we did not negotiate the amount i'll be paid as I was more concerned about impressing her. We know what PHCN is like in Nigeria so I fuelled the generator, used data from my Swift modem and committed two days to writing this thesis. She loved it and told me I was in. Then she offered me 1k. I lamented about how much time, money and sweat I spent on the project. The 1k barely covered the money I spent on fuel for the generator. She was hell bent on not paying more than that and covered up with the fact that her clients were selfish and I needed to start small yada yada. She just did not get that I ran at a loss, or pretended not to. Her moniker is 'eri pecs' on Nairaland and I could post a couple of screen shots to substantiate my claims if I have to. She eventually sent 1000 worth of recharge card. Lol Second Experience I didn't make the mistake of not negotiating amount with this person. We did in fact on a weekly basis, albeit a paltry sum but it was better than nothing. My job was posting on an entertainment blog called 9ja olofofo, with an average of 8 to 10 posts in a day. Although I had a couple of issues starting up as the site had issues and my phone would not post but I eventually worked it out and posted religiously for a week. There were times I did about 13 posts in a day because I was beginning to enjoy it. Then it was time for pay for the first week and this person began to post me. He has asked for my account number twice but has refused to pay or give any reasons why. What I get in return when I ask is an attitude. Today marks one week that my pay was due and I really am over it now. He has a partner who I would ping to tell what was going on and that one would lie and cover up for him and they were both playing me. I am posting this so as to ensure that other Nairalanders/Jobseekers don't fall into this same trap. The feeling of being cheated is a very painful one as at some point, all you need, even if the person in question cannot pay is a sincere apology and not an attitude which I got from the persons in question. If you know of a smarter way to deal with online job 'employers', please share as it will help others. |
This is so sexist! |

goldfish80:naijasinglegirl is responsible for the humourous write-ups. kudos to her |
Usually I don't agree with Charles Novia... but I think he made sense with this. I totally agree. |
You write really well. I'm sure you'll get yourself something nice soon. |
Gboliwe:Hi Gboliwe, I served in Enugu and attended hotr. I know all d government palava that made them move to d hotel. Question is have they gotten their property back, because I remember it was near completion back then in 2011 before the government took it. |
tundabolt:Oga, I tire for these bad belle people o. Its like they are just looking for something, like some huge profit initiative to tie 'The Experience' to and when they found none, then they turned around and said 'Worldly Concert' because some Babe dressed and was dancing somehow. So it's now d organisers' fault that d Babe was dancing and distracted you when u could have just found another seat. One word for y'all though, the Lord will build His Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it! I haven't recovered from the experience... The worship and praise of our Father in Heaven, the live renditions, the lovely rhythms, the 'baraje' dancing... One God, One Voice! |
mencade4:All these people that were not there that are just talking nonsense.... Must you always find a way to indict the church of God? Can't you just shut your mouth and mind ur business? And I even wonder how Donnie Mcclurkin singing d national anthem is supposed to be some form of show off... very daft reasoning. After Pastor Paul talked passionately about the state of the country, Nat Bassey, Angella Christie, Onos and Sammie Okposo sang the national anthem. Thanks OP for posting those pics. U must work for Rock media to get such clear pictures amidst such crowd. |
tunshe:Sorry to disappoint u brother. No offerings were collected. From the gate fee, to the VIP pass, to the magazine, to even small chops and water.... Everything was FREE. Now say something else ![]() |
Hello. A dsa is a contract staff and if you are to move to another bank, you will be placed on thesame level. You can only get a higher level if you were a full staff in your previous bank. Your best bet is to apply for a graduate trainee position. Hope this helps. |
Hello. Clicking on the blog said blog not found... im interested anyway- |
On my way to Ibadan from lag, I saw a soldiers' van parked and about four of them were seriously slapping and hitting a man who was parked behind them. The man had his wife and kids crying close to him. Wish I had a camera to record d ugly scene. I kept askin myself, wat in d world could an unharmed man with his wife and kids have done 2 deserve such an inhuman treatment. Wat kinda country do we live in? I thought we had transited from d military regime 2d civilian regime... If d man was a minister or commissioner, would some bloody illiterates have treated him d same way? Do we have a judicial system dat treats such cases with utmost integrity. I still haven't found answers to my question especially because it could be my husband's turn tomorrow. Such a lawless country... Really sad! |
Its not every trend that should be followed blindly. Its just an eye sore! Dats wat most girls in unilag now wear and could be really transparent at times, u get to see their panties and even d colour. Wat these girls are trying to prove is what I don't get. Really dirty scene! ... I'm a very fashionable person but indecent fashion is a No No for me! |
Awwww. I was in dat house just last week. Surprised it wasn't combated early cuz dere are always people dere. Really sad! |
