Asapchris: But not everybody fortune to be governor or Dangote or bill gate, and because the man is a driver doesn't mean you should disrespect them, even people sale pap. CU's that is their profession and you must respect them. Or do you think they happy doing those jobs, or you think they don't wish to be their own boss huh.... Respect is reciprocal. Assuming the lady talk to that man respectively, do you think that man will not be happy to talk to her and keep her company while going. I honestly understand your point and I respect it but we attach too much importance to trivial things. So if that man had 10 clients that day and 9 insulted him, he would send the 9 clients out and go home empty? Would he cook respect when he gets home? And what was the insult if I may ask? Saying "your head is not there" is not an insult, just a slang. Baba should take a chill pill abeg! If that lady really meant it as an insult, she won't be the one putting it out there |

Asapchris: Sorry brother, but how would you feel if your dad tells you that someone ( Lady) told him, his head is not there? if my dad told me that and he is a conductor, I will laugh about it because statements like that will always come with the job, but if my dad was the governor of my state, he won't be the one telling about the lady, I would probably be reading it in the dailies. The moral of what I'm saying is, you can't be a laundry man and be complaining of water splashes....driving a taxi brings every form of humans from every sphere of the world and statements like that won't be far fetched! |

Excuzeme: Even Caucasians stil respect their Elders or have you not seen them reserving a particular number of seats for them on Buses and in public places? Have you not heard and seen them give free passes for Bus and train rides, for their Senior (Elderly) Citizens? It is not just a Nigerian thing but a moral and right thing, to respect elders.
The man cannot be sacked for any jack. it is his taxi though Uber is the "payment intermediary" between them. Nigerians just need to go back to factory settings and learn some basic rules of humanity, especially people from the South East.
And by the way, "Customer is always right" does not go as far as hurling abusive insults at the Customer Service Personnel, if you insult people at their place of legitimate work, they have the right to throw you out. I have seen ithappen uncountable times.
Go into say a Police Station ans tell them because you are a Customer, you have the right to insult the Policemen there and see what happens next.
NB: This si not a criticism of your post, just an addition to it. Everybody keep saying she insulted the man, abeg which insult? She hasn't said too much, "your head is not there" is a slang and it is usually used for jokes. That man should calm down abeg! |
Nairaland General › Re: Driver Kicks Lady Out Of His Car For Telling Him “Your Head Is Not There.” by sleek82(m): 2:45pm On Oct 21, 2019 |
rentAcock: Silly child. Just because he's a taxi driver, that doesn't give her any right to insult him. Kids these days have no respect or morals. if that man is looking for his mates, he should go to the senate building in Abuja and stop forming old man when you know this kind of job will always bring insults and moreso, he doesn't need to take life that hard, the young girl was probably joking. The man looks frustrated to me, he is probably not happy with his job in the first place! |

Crime › Re: 'From Charging My Phone, I Landed In Prison' - Suspect by sleek82(m): 5:06pm On Oct 18, 2019 |
jimmy74: This reminds me of an incidence way back then at MTN head office, Abuja. As an applicant, a friend told me that mtn is collecting applications. He arranged 1k for me as Teepee. I quickly left his office in Asokoro to Maitama. Just after settling the bike man and heading towards the gatehouse, a plain cloth policeman grabbed me on the belt from behind and immediately ordered me towards their waiting van. I demanded to know what my offense was and simply replied that, I should keep shut till I get to the station. I put up some resistance to protest my innocence and he pulled a gun at me. In a moment, I was in an open van with about 3 other suspects to be quickly joined by another guy on a business trip from Lagos whose only crime was leaving his room in a nearby hotel to buy fruits for himself. We were taken to a police station in Maitama and accused as touts reselling mtn SIM Packs, a practice the company was highly against within their vicinity. I pleaded to the inspector on duty that, I am just an applicant who just went there to submit an application but, was ignored as I didn't have money to bail myself. The other 3 suspects who were obviously the culprits and carrying several SIM packs on them quickly pay 30k each and were release immediately. I and the guy from a hotel were left to our fate. The poor me could not afford a GSM phone let alone call some one for my bail. The guy eventually secure his release too after several hours of negotiation leaving me alone around 9PM in the station. I eventually got my cousins number, whose office sent him on errand to far away northern state and put a call through a phone offered by a lady police who became sympathetic to plight. This angered her colleagues as they realize the guy was even out of town. As the seconds were ticking off towards midnight, I intensified my pleas hoping I will be let off the hook from the detention area sitting on the floor. But, little did I know the stone hearted cops, 'supposed friends' were preparing a space for me to join other inmates in the detention room. By midnight, about Ten girls were brought into the station as night crawlers, some screaming to high heavens to be released. The buoyant ones among them were able to settle their way out as usual leaving the rest behind. At this point, I was ordered to remove my shoe and leave it behind with my documents taking along with me to the detention room just a token (N100 or so) so that, I will not be severely tortured by the older inmates. At this moment, I felt some tears rolled down through my cheeks and was eventually taken into a room with over 30 inmates lying and standing. I was immediately ushered in with hot slaps, punches, dragging to remove the money in my trouser. I survived the first phase of the torture session and was immediately assigned the task to fan through out the night their " Chieffo" who was one of the few previledged to lie down. To cut my narration short, I was released the following morning after my cousin arranged with his friend to come for my release. Sorry, this happened in 2001 when GSM just came on board.. and my very first experience in a police station. OMG! Just reading this is disturbing! Thank God you were released. I learnt that is how they do to people, especially if you don't have money and there is another criminal with a lot of money, they could pin the crime on you and let the criminal go |

The police that made the arrest may think they were doing their job but they were unknowingly sowing curses for themselves, How can you just arrest some random innocent citizens for two years without trial. No wonder Many of them die a gruesome death. I'm close to tears my dear, that is how these bastards are oooo. I once listened to a man on radio in 2015, I cried for him. He was arrested and wrongfully charged, a sitting Judge sentenced him to death! This man spent 15 years of his life in prison awaiting death until he was proven innocent after 15 YEARS! 15 years wasted just like that! |

tomju: This Headies award matter is very simple and straightforward. If Zlatan Ibile feels he is bigger than the category he was placed, he should simply reject the "honour". Yes. Being nominated for an award, any award at that is an honour in the first place. Winning it is the icing on the cake or a confirmation that you deserved it! Think about it, after all these hullabaloo he didn't win the award, what will he do? Fight? Sometime ago where I worked I met this proud dude who saw me mopping a restroom at work. He gossiped about me that how can as senior staff mop! The guy told him that the tap was left overnight and the water filled everywhere. Mopping was necessary as I was the first to discover it before the cleaners arrive. He said him sha cannot mop floor! For wetin? Cut the long story short.. Later this proud dude enter trouble o. One transaction gone wrong and EFCC picked him. Detained him almost 2 months. When we visited him, I asked him how is the place? He exclaimed.."bros no be small thing o. Na me dey wash their toilet o. As I no pay house fees"! How much is house fees? He smiled and said bros no worry dem don grant me administrative bail! Humility is a virtue. You cannot build a house from the roof. You must start from scratch. Stay humble! good point, well expressed too! |

First guys, OP needs to change the topic to vehicles you should avoid if you are buying a used or tokunbo car and taking it to Nigeria. Some of these vehicles truly have bad second hand values but it's a totally different ball game if you are buying it new, you have the servicing outlets around you and all that. Infact, there are a lot of things to consider for second hand vehicles |
