Actually, Every where in the world, you don't need to be instructed to winddown your car window when you were being stopped by an officer of the law... it's just common sense...If u don't, they will knock on your window and make a sign for u to winddown.. it's a normal process.

You don't alight from your car when you were being stopped by a police officer, except if he/she instructs you to do so...Because they ( the officers do not know the weapon you have within you).... doing so without instructions shows sign of aggression...
Maybe they should also train Nigerian motorists on what to do when approached by an officer because most of you don't get it..

If a policeman doesn't tell you to get out of the car and you do, the highest should be to restrain you or use taser unless the policeman sees a weapon (then that's a different story). We have countries whose police don't even carry guns!!!

Why not wind down your window? You were cold?? That was the reason you couldn’t and didn’t wind down and window and at least say a simply ‘Goodmorning or good afternoon officer’…..how difficult was that?

Nothing justifies the violent action of the policeman but com on….mr Abdullahi should’ve responded differently and more respectful. He ignored the policeman and also didn’t wind down when he was approached.

If u were stopped by a police officer, the first thing to do was to switch off your Radio so u can hear, bring down your window to know what he/ she wanted...

An average Nigerian man is totally aggressive... The way he was talking to this reporter, assuming he used that same tone, I don't think there would be a problem...

Indeed police officers needed reorientation and training on how to handle humans in more respectful manner in Nigeria...

My mom is lovely but lately I'm getting fed up with her. She is someone that requires people to do every single thing for her without lifting a finger. Asides earning money to train her children, which I'm forever grateful for.

I can say that all my life, I can count how many times I've seen my mother cook or pick a broom, talkless of lay her bed.

Growing up, I thought it was very normal since our culture is one where you have to be very respectful and help your elders. I have many siblings so we all did everything for the house and for her. But lately, with the older ones settling down and moving out, I'm left with her.

It has gotten to the extent that my unmarried siblings also avoid the house because it's not easy living with her. We got her a maid to help around but it's not a permanent solution especially with expenses.

I'm a student and I came home this break while the maid travels back home for Christmas. The whole situation is quite tiring for me. I was baffled today when, while I was choked up cooking Christmas food for us and guests coming later, she called me to rub cream on her foot, like why can't she do it herself. The fact that she didn't even help with any of the cooking and arrangements was painful enough.

My siblings have given up on her as they believe she's used to it already and she can't change. I've been told that my late dad pampered her and got several maids for her so she has been doing this for so long already. My father died when I was little.

I've taken it as not a big deal but I'm beginning to think of moving to another state after graduation just because of this issue.

I don't know whether to confront her about her attitude. Or whether that would make me disrespectful or ungrateful to her.

you already have the solution to your problem....move to another state and see if she won't cook for herself or clean her surroundings when she is alone

if you have the money for MSc, it's the place to be...ofcourse getting a job is sure after your education and becoming a citizen is even easy after your education. (The most important part is tuition, if you have it then you are good to go)

Please understand that regardless of how old you are, you will always be his baby and much so the only precious soul he has to look out for after your mum's passing. Your dad will loosen the ropes after you prove to him you have become a man. Don't think it's all by making money that will prove your adulthood, sometimes decision making can prove this to him also. Take charge of your surroundings, run his business or shop like it's yours and focus on becoming a great man, he will loosen the ropes when he sees all these attributes in you. Study hard and get into the university (please don't join cult)....he will surely treat you like an adult in no time!

The only sister i and my other siblings had met a Man around 2008. He's from Imo state, a deportee from Germany who was in his late 40s when they met. My sister was just out of high school then and struggling to secure admission into any of the tertiary institutions. Luckily, she got admission to study law at Unilag after her second attempt. Sadly, there was no money to process the admission, she lost it. She was the first and only daughter of our parents. My parents were incapacitated financially to support her dream

My father never wanted her to work then, for guys not to take advantage of her or something. Having lost the admission, she insisted to work inorder to raise money for her studies. My dad got no option than to obliged

She met this man barely a year she started working. She was in her early 20s and full of dreams. Lest I forget, she was staying with our grand mother due to distance. This man got my sister pregnant and we got to hear about it. My dad got the man arrested and beat the hell out of my sister. He wept bitterly claiming this isn't the life he envisioned for his only daughter

He beseeched her and talk sense into her but she insisted, claiming she loved the man. This man was deported after spending almost half of his productive years outside the shores of Nigeria. He came back home with nothing and the next thing he could do was to got my sister pregnant claiming he loves her beyond words

My sister moved in with him and they started living together. We lost our grand parents (paternal and maternal) Yet, this man and my sister never stepped their foot in our house to commesorate. I lost my eldest brother, same thing happened. They never showed up. I was the 4th child of five children. Though, only four left now. She hardly call our parents nor we her siblings. To cap it all, my sister had stopped using phone ever since she moved to pourtharcourt with this man

This same man always attend his family function and very much into his family but isolated my sister away from her family. My sister never called throughout my days in the university just to know how I'm fairing, despite knowing our family condition. A very close friend of mine noticed this while in school and i did explained everything to him. He felt so bittered. He asserted the man might be diabolic, he's from the same town with the man in imo state

My parents are in their early/late 60s respectively and aging gradually. They couldn't felt the presence of their only daughter. Interestingly, family members got suspicious and they kept asking after her but my parents are bent on covering up, claiming she's fine. Yet, they goes to their closets to cry bitterly for the life of their daughter. I asked my dad why covering up, he claimed to have known his family pretty well, that they would do nothing

I'm just a young graduate, still job haunting. While my elder brother is gainfully employed with 50k as his monthly take home. He's being supportive with day to day running of the house and that of our last born studies.
