First of all, I'm a black person, I'm a Nigerian and I'm from Yoruba tribe. Now to the topic. What's so special about having a phd in a program that it has to make a frontpage in the most popular forum in Nigeria? We need to stop all these celebration of mediocrity. She is the first black to have phd in biomedical engineering from Canada (which I'm very sure is not true) and so freaking what. I can bet with anyone that there are many blacks that would have had phd in biomedical engineering before June 2017 University of Toronto McGill University of BC Queens University University of Montreal University of Alberta Waterloo etc. All offer doctorate in biomedical engineering. Are you now telling me none of those schools have ever had black graduate before now? This is not something worth celebrating abeg and very ridiculous to see people jubilating on this ![]() |
When are we gonna hear the end of this BBN? |
My dream is the day black people will unite and see themselves as one. It is time we released ourselves from mental shackles and uplift the black race. As regards this news, I hope is not true but if it happens to be true then it is time for the Yorubas to order some popcorns and take no side on the issue. Any Yoruba that clamor for one Nigeria afterwards must be a bastard. Let Igbos have their Biafra, and let hausas have their Arewa. We absolutely don't need any of them to develop. Lagos and Ogun are the only states in Nigeria with IGR greater than federal allocations. I repeat, Lagos and Ogun states are the only states with IGR greater than federal allocations. We are more than capable to develop into a 2nd world and 1st world country of our own in a short period. We have been dragged back by those we seem to care for for so long Fyi my Yoruba brothers and sisters, crude oil is gradually becoming insignificant, and the price will remain in mid 40 to 50s for a very long time to come. Now it's time to develop new technology and position ourselves where the world is heading to. We have the land, we have intelligent minds all over the world and we have unity amongst ourselves. Now it is time to end a relationship where we give others and still get insulted by those that receive from us. |
Shortyy:My dear it is mental slavery. Control people's mind, and you control their lifes. What the pastors are doing is synonymous to hypnosis. The hypnotized people do not have a clue that their minds are being controlled |
All these religious insanity should be frowned at. The black race is being ridiculed by the world everyday. We black people are too intelligent and smart for all these stupidity. No one should mix spirituality with insanity It is high time we started mental revolution as a race |
Nancy2016:Thank you very much for the support. It has become a daily thing on Nairaland for at least one thread containing a very gory image to grace the frontpage. Like you said, not only is it disrespectful to the relative of the deads, it also depicts lack of regards for the black image. There was attack in London last weekend and another one in Orlando yesterday, but you will hardly see the gory images of the victims been splashed all over the internet. |
Seun please can you do something about the graphic images making front pages without being blurred? Sir, let's start respecting the black bodies and preach against lynching of criminals irrespective of their crime |

softwerk:It only prove that Trump is a dumb stupid bigot. With all the travel ban, deportation and hate speech he had made, one will think that a mass shooting will not occur in US. Americans kill americans 100 times more than any foreigner kills them. Just for your info, the homicide rate in the city of Chicago alone is greater than the homicide rate in all of the cities in Canada combined last year. A country where every idiots and fools have access to gun, you will always have mass shooting every now and then |
Amberon11:I usually don't open the threads too but I think putting up those gory images without filter is a disrespect to the black body and also a terrible mental images for people that see them |
He is not rich. If you're really rich, you don't make efforts to show people you are rich. People will know you are rich. |
Seun, I will like to use this opportunity to make a comment on what I'm observing on Nairaland. I notice that threads with graphic images such as a burnt body, a beheaded body, a dumped baby etc. always make the frontpage with the images not been filtered. I will urge you and the mods to always blur these gory images because it is not good for the general public psyche. Thanks for your understanding |
So you guys have done 51 summits and west africa still remain one of the poorest region in the world. We black people need mental revolution |
DEXTROVERT:You call a factory built by a multinational company with over 1 billion dollars in annual sale a small indoor factory. Dude your stupidity is beyond words.
|
I guess she took poison too. Since it is hard for many Igbos on Nairaland to fathom that it is possible for someone to die at an old age without foul play. I don't intend to derail this thread. I wish Mama Rest in Peace and for God to give Obiano the fortitude to bear the loss. |
taylor88:Unlike others I won't abuse you. Doing so won't reduce your stupidity. What I will do is to list very few good people/things that have come out of Ogun and Osun state. I have just one question to ask Who carry democracy give us in Nigeria? |
It should be Luanda. Just saying ![]() |
Some people take everything as joke As quoted from from this source http://www.goaskalice.columbia.edu/answered-questions/will-just-one-testicle-tamper-sex-life-and-fatherhood "Medically, as long as you're healthy, and producing adequate viable sperm in your remaining testicle, your lone testicle will not impact your sex life or ability to have children". |
The fake life most of the celebrities live is baffling. This is why I laugh at an average guy or girl that try emulate them on social media. |
Lubbish This is what happens when you make a nonetity with absolute no talents or skills a celebrity just for sleeping and chatting around in a house for weeks |
And what have they done with the money? |
Agathabishen:Thanks for your response, you are truly a genuine person. I wish you all the best |
Able acting president |
Agathabishen:How much is hectare of land in the region? If I may ask, what is the prospect of farm equipment rental in the region? |
Very disheartening |
He had prospect but got too carried by power |
LordOfNaira:You post is sensible except the bolded. Don't fall for all these Igbos fabrications and propaganda. Awolowo did not take his life. Awolowo just like any old man of 78 years died of natural cause. His corpse was displayed for the world to see for weeks and he was given an open casket burial. If there was any form of poison, the effect would have shown on his corpse in days. All these lies and fabrications by the Igbos are what we need to correct. If anyone has to die of poison between Awolowo, Azikiwe and Ojukwu, it surely has to be Azikiwe and Ojukwu because Azikiwe was abandoned and neglected by Igbos for supporting Nigeria during Biafra war while Ojukwu was depressed from outright failure during the war and the fact that his Igbo people didn't vote for him once as senator and twice as president of Nigeria. Awolowo on the other hand was referred and honored by Yorubas as elder stateman till the day he died. |
Butterworth:Good that you know the nutirtional and health benefits of Ewedu. You probably need to start consuming it for your own good too |
hammer6:Awolowo was given an open casket burial, the whole world saw that he died peacefully of natural cause at the age of 78. Azikiwe on the other hand was ill for over 7 years, he fainted and went into coma many times before he eventually died. No one saw the state of his corpse before he was hurriedly buried. Ojukwu on the other hand died of depression in UK far away from his dream Biafra country. The shameful coward general lived and died in UK that was his enemy during Biafra war. We shouldn't forget how the Igbos abandoned and neglected both of these their fathers |

Bloody Coward!
