CultureRe: Throwback: The Most Bizarre Nigerian Freaky Myths Children Ever Heard (funny) by slurryeye2: 6:11pm On May 19, 2017
If you don't put the myth of Egbere (bush baby) that lives in the forest, your list is not complete. Myth has it that he always carry a mat everywhere he goes, that if one could steal the mat from him, such person will be wealthy beyond imagination. The problem is, it is very difficult to steal the mat, and if one does, the bush baby will use cry to finish the person's life until they give back the mat.

Taking half nude pics and gracing covers of magazines is part of d modelling profession. U get?
I guess that's true. But ain't models supposed to wear clothes since the essence of modelling is to make prospective customers buy what they are wearing?

EducationRe: Secondary School Where Students Sit On The Floor For Classes In Lagos (Photos) by slurryeye2: 3:27pm On May 18, 2017
It was quite clear from the pix that the class was an overfilled class and the students surely have desks. The buildings look dilapidated and the governor should do something about it. There are many buildings with the same structure across public primary and secondary schools in Lagos. They are called Jakande buildings, they were built in early 1980s. If they haven't been renovated or demolished, I expect their structures to be like this

PoliticsRe: Lagos Inaugurates Ibile Oil And Gas Corporation (IOGC), State Oil Company by slurryeye2:
I started respecting Lagos state administration during Obasanjo regime when despite not receiving allocations from FG for years, they were able to sustain the economy and even executed multi billion projects under Tinubu. Hands down, Lagos is the only state in Nigeria that doesn't need a dime from federal allocation to survive.
For those developing headache over this news, what you should all do is ask your governors both past and present the reason they are diverting the crude oil money into their personal pockets instead of creating a state owned oil company for their states developments.
The way governance is going in Lagos, I won't be surprised if Lagos becomes a first world state in a third world country. Lagos is the only state that has maintained continuation in governance from 1999 till date, and every governor try to outdo the performance of his predecessor. Fashola outdone Tinubu performance, Ambode is on the path of outdoing Fashola performance and I'm sure Ambode successor will try to outdo him.

CelebritiesRe: "I Thought They Put AC Outside": Olajumoke Shivering In South Africa (Video) by slurryeye2: 5:48pm On May 15, 2017
One thing that keeps this young lady excelling is the that fact that she's honest and true to herself. In the video you can see a lady honestly saying the outside temperature is as cold as AC while the other one is forming a fake accent.
I had similar experience as Olajumoke the fall of the year I came to Canada. Inside Pearson Intl airport felt normal until I stepped outside. The temperature was 10C, and I never felt that cold in my life. I remembered telling my buddy and his friends welcoming me who were wearing just t-shirts that I was surprised they aren't wearing jackets because the outside was colder than AC. They laughed and told me that if I think this is cold, I should wait till winter and see what cold really is. Lo and behold, that winter, I witnessed my first snow and subzero temperature. From then till now, I have seen temperature go as low as minus 30s Celsius.
For those of you calling Olajumoke village girl, I will advise you not to go to temperate countries especially during cold seasons because if you try to form to your hosts that have already acclimatized to the climate so that they don't see you as village boy or girl, you will just freeze to death. It is as simple as that.

Okay sir,I have heard you. But our traditions and customs are not as liberal as theirs. That was what I was referring to.
Absolutely, our traditions and customs are far from being liberal as theirs which was why I said we need enlightenment. Some of our traditions and cultures are as good as for the garbage. However, we shouldn't get liberal to stupidity level where a girl of 12 years will be slapping her mother in the public or a wife decided to sleep with her brother in law with her husband's consent.

You are actually the one who lacks understanding. How does whites being more objective and less sentimental relate to melanin and inferiority complex?
Oga,you must be an educated illiterate. Schooling abroad doesn't make one less stupid and you just confirmed it!
I can see the lane you are taking the conversation to. I won't engage you in mudslinging and vilification, rather, I will try to be reasonable with you. If what I said about blanching your skin and restructuring your face makes you feel insulted, I'm sorry. The whole conversation started when you said white people believe that if a relationship doesn't work, you move on because there are other people out there for you which is the reason why their lifes are much better than blacks. I said it's nonsense because I believe moving on with life after a failed relationship is not believed only by white race. Other races believe so too. Whether it's black, asian, latinos or native americans. Also saying white people lifes are much better than black is totally wrong. Do not be fooled by what you see on movies. Hollywood is not a true reflection of what happens in real life. White people aren't less sentimental or understand relationship better than black people. Relationship is an individual thing not a race thing. Trust me, I know what I'm saying.

Don't insult the memory of Zik by putting him along with these charlatans. Zik is the greatest Nigerian in history. While the likes of awo and Balewa were playing ethnic ludo, Zik was philosophizing for African renaisance.
He is the father of Nigeria so to speak. You are Nigerian today because of Nnamdi Azikwe
If I write a piece on Zik, you will never forgive me. But ask yourself this question. Why did Zik abandoned Igbos during the Biafra war? Why did he lose presidential massively in 1979 and 1983 even lost in Igboland. Why was he abandoned by your kinsmen. Unlike you, I respect him just like I do Awolowo, Bello and Balewa. They have laid down their legacies, it is time for our generation to lay down on ours instead of whining on past and having a victim mindset

Let me break economics down....Igbo economics is based on group economics....We buy from ourselves

Then when we move out of our region, we create a niche and make money...During Christmas and Easter we all head home...So also the money

Now when Yoruba don't travel ,they don't do us...In short we enjoy it. We keep the eastern economies and south south economies to ourselves ...We keep the money at home and at the same time repatriation of overseas based ones ...To ensure business continuity and spread the over sea wealth...We just simply go back pick our kinsmen and teach him the business all these going on while you are doing great owambe and eating amala or asking for owo mi da

This is the same thing Chinese do...And that's why Igbo cities are cool today. Oh if you have e training wked to eastern cities you will understand but we don't want you to travel. We want you to assume that your place is the estimate so that we don't want your eyes to open

Chinese's are doing it in Lagos and Africa ..
Asians are doing that in Lagos and Africa
Igbo are doing it in Lagos and Africa

Fortune favours the brave ...no venture no success

But, we want you to be in your region and populate that place so that we can have a better market ..Don't travel. It is pointless, let's bring the business to you. Don't worry ...Ever heard of the term....Igbo sense

Oh we are still the most educated....So the skilled jobs in your place we take some slice off it and still have our jobs back home to ourselves

Best of both world....One Nigeria is fantastic...We must all enjoy it for now....If Biafra come....We reoatraiate forex( he will get agitated)
Be massaging your ego with monumental ignorance. You are entitled to your limited knowledge. I'm quite sure you haven't travelled beyond your village and Lagos. By the time you travel abroad (by abroad I mean western countries like Canada, USA, UK, Scandinavia countries etc and not cambodia, malaysia, vietnam, phillipines, Indonesia) reality will slap you in the face just like he has done many of your brothers I have met here in Canada. Many of them licking Yoruba asses up and down. The ratio of Igbos to Yorubas in Canada is like 1:4, that of USA is like 1:2, and UK will surely be up to if not more than 1:8. These figures are fact. Yorubas don't have to travel to your less developed region to show that they travel. God forbid us from moving backwards. Guess what these Yorubas do annually, they send multimillions of foreign currency to their family back home. Some of them even go back home to set up state of the art companies after spending years abroad.
