Parking at Public hospitals is free in Nigeria, in some of the countries like Canada, you pay for parking. So how can Nigeria develop like Canada when we want most public utility and facilities free? We have to chose one, either freebies or underdevelopment. We can't have both.

100%. I haven't seen an hospital with free Parking in all the provinces I have lived in Canada. Even the ambulance people talk about is not free. An ambulance ride would cost around 200 - 400 dollars.

People should just protest that government bring the subsidy back and development can be pushed back to the next government like we have always done, but all these comparison of wages and bills from different countries doesn't make much sense to me.

100% in support of FG. FG has been paying subsidy for darkness for decades. I did not even know that electricity was being subsidized untik now. When we hear subsidy, all we are think off is gasoline products.

Guy. I worked in this industry and currently working in it but in capital projects in that same Canada. People pay via new connect or customer connect services. Because you just moved into a home already built does not mean the power installation had not been paid for by someone else e.g. developer.

Well. Governorment ideally should not be in the business of power supply either via asset ownership or subsidization. Let the private run the sector to minimize corruption and maximize profit while delivering excellent services. People like to use Abia as example, but that's what can happen when private get involved.

Even foreign investors might move in. The country needs to stop operating like a socialist country.

Also, there is no one on estimated billing and the power consumption for residential areas is not billed as same with industrial areas.

While I agree only 15% is to be captured in principle, if you look at the average monthly rate that N225 amounts to vis a vis the minimum wage, you will see a huge distortion. At the rate of a unit per hour consumption, the average customer will spend N135k on electricity a month with the minimum wage at 30k. Even if the minimum wage is increased, do you seriously believe it will be increased to such a point that someone on minimum wage will be able to afford to spend N135k on electricity?
When you add the cost of transport and food that;s been going out of range lately, you will realize that most of these things being pilled on Nigerians are not realistic.

The bolded is not factual. People pay for transformer install. The developers would have paid for it when the subdivision or condo, or whatever type of housing is being built. People also living on outskirt of the city pay for individual installation, but no one pays for repair.
Bills are estimated as well but they adjust once a reading is obtained.

I don't know about Europe but in North America, 25kv (277/480v or 347/600v) is more expensive than 14.4kv (110/120/240v).
However, replace elite citizen with industrial and commercial rate, then replace common man with residential rate.

All residential pay the the same rate depending on your city or state. City A may have a higher rate than City B. State X may have an higher rate than state Y. A true capitalist economy. Residential people in the same city pay the same rate.

It seems the Nigerian version which I don't understand is based on how long people have light for in a day which doesn't make much sense to me.

There are some categories of Air France customers that would prefer to fly Lagos-Paris-London:

- Examples would be customers flying to other destinations outside London e.g. Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Edinburgh e.t.c.

- Some bargain hunters that are just looking at finding the lowest cost possible. They don't mind the stopovers. Alot of students, hustlers, and low income earners would fall into this category. AirFrance would fly straight to London Heathrow from Paris. Gatwick which is farther from London will cost them extra money. That's an extra train ticket or Uber to London 1 hour away.

For customers outside these two groups, AirPeace is still a steal at its current price coupled with the yummy naija food they are offering in their flights. Virgin would likely lose more customers to AirPeace the most. BA has very loyal customers that only fly them even when Virgin Atlantic is cheaper e.g. Rich Nigerians.
