PoliticsRe: Lagos State Was Never Nigeria's Capital - Reno Omokri by Slytiger: 4:16pm On Jul 28, 2025
Angelfrost:
That ship might have sailed permanently...!

APC started the division on a massively scale prior to 2015 elections, in their desperation for power.

The nation become far more fragmented than ever before in history.

Add these to the antics of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho groups, and you can see the deep fissures that can never be mended in this lifetime.
So Nnamdi Kanu was working for APC in 2015?
Or was Peter Obi that weaponized bigotry in 2011 - 2015 was also part of APC?

PoliticsRe: Lagos State Was Never Nigeria's Capital - Reno Omokri by Slytiger:
I am always eager to read from Reno Omokri. I have learnt a lot from his tweets and post on Facebook.

Modified: After reading this, it is surely another banger.

I am ancestrally from Ifako Ijaiye, and I even see myself more closer to an Ogun man from Sango, Ajuwon, Ijoko e.t.c than say a Lagosian from the Island sef.

Majority of present day Lagos state was part of the Western region.

PoliticsOrganizers Of Igbo Fest In Port Harcourt Plead For The Event To Hold by Slytiger(op): 3:40pm On Jul 28, 2025
Organizers of Igbo Fest in Port Harcourt plead with their Host Ikwerre Ethnics to allow them do their celebration in Port Harcourt, after Ikwerre elders kicked against celebrating any igbo event in Port Harcourt

PRESS STATEMENT AND HERITAGE PORT HARCOURT IGBOFEST 2025: A CELEBRATION OF CULTURE, UNITY.

The organizing committee of Port Harcourt IgboFest 2025 wishes to inform the general public, partners, and all stakeholders that this highly anticipated cultural event is strictly a celebration of Igbo heritage, unity, and artistic expression. It is not affiliated with any political agenda or movement, nor does it represent any attempt to challenge the identity of our gracious host Obio-Akpor LGA in extension Port Harcourt City.

Port Harcourt IgboFest is a family cultural event intended to promote peaceful coexistence, cultural appreciation, and mutual respect among all ethnic groups living in Rivers State and beyond. It is intended to strengthen the bonds of unity, not division, as has been achieved in peace and harmony in other states. As one of Nigeria's most diverse and welcoming cities, Port Harcourt provides a perfect setting for such cultural expression and dialogue.

We recognize and deeply respect the leadership of Ikwerre in Obia Akpo and in extension Rivers State and the unique heritage of the people of Port Harcourt.

IgboFest is being held with the spirit of collaboration and community, with full awareness and appreciation of the need for cultural harmony and civic responsibility. Neither does it have any connotation to harness any ethnic group into the Igbo community, as has been suggested.

We urge the public to disregard any misinformation or false narratives suggesting political motives behind the event.

Port Harcourt IgboFest is non- partisan, inclusive, and purely cultural. The organizing committee invites all residents, visitors, and cultural enthusiasts to attend and enjoy the event in the spirit of togetherness and celebration.

PoliticsRe: CSU .. Proof: Bola Tinubu Was Never A Female But President Tinubu. by Slytiger: 3:11pm On Jul 28, 2025
Putinofrussia:
For a U.S. undergraduate degree, students from most countries will need to provide biometric information (fingerprints and a photo) as part of the visa application process. This is a standard security measure for all non-immigrant visa applications.
This is why Bola Tinubu that graduated was the one that became an undergraduate not a female.
You cannot bypass the system in USA as you would here especially if you are an immigrant.
You think they don't know. Lol.

They also know that Peter Obi is a failure and was a failure but they just want their kinsman to become president grin
PoliticsOhanaeze Ndigbo Rejects Senate Bill Naming Ooni, Sultan As Co-Chairs Of TRC by Slytiger(op): 3:08pm On Jul 28, 2025
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Rejects Senate Bill Naming Ooni, Sultan As Permanent Co-Chairs Of Traditional Rulers’ Council

In a statement issued on Sunday in Enugu, the group described the bill as unjust, warning that it sidelines apex traditional rulers from other ethnic nationalities and geopolitical zones across the country.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has condemned a bill in the Nigerian Senate that seeks to elevate the Ooni of Ife and the Sultan of Sokoto as permanent Co-Chairmen of the National Council of Traditional Rulers.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Enugu, the group described the bill as unjust, warning that it sidelines apex traditional rulers from other ethnic nationalities and geopolitical zones across the country.

The National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr. Ezechi Chukwu, expressed deep concern over what he termed an asymmetric bill by the Senate, emphasising that it disregards the principles of fairness, equity, and federal character enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution.

Chukwu said the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide is astounded by the rationale behind the bill, which threatens the spirit of inclusiveness and equality in the nation’s traditional leadership structure.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the bill has already passed its second reading in the Senate, raising tensions among various ethnic and regional groups.

He said, “The Senate in this vein has failed in its capacity as the highest legislative carrier and custodian of the nation’s democratic mandate.

“This bill is not only inequitable, discriminatory and ethnocentric, it is equally distasteful, reprehensible and objectionable.

“It lacks all the ethical considerations, objective metrics and unbiased categories for national unity and social justice in a pluralist nation-state like Nigeria.

"Ohanaeze Ndigbo called for the urgent withdrawal of the bill and the need to review it in consideration for ethnic differences, cultural sensitivity, geopolitical balance, inclusive governance and equitable representation.”

“It is only by so doing shall the bill foster national unity, peaceful co-existence and social stability,” Chukwu added.

The law can go to court. If Peter Obi's and Atiku's lawyers knew the law well enough, they won't have lost at the election tribunal hence wasted money.

BTW, if Anambra renamed streets bearing Ebonyi names and people didn't complain, why is there so much hullabaloo over the one done in Lagos?

Funny thing is that the names may change again some years down the line.
Its part of the agenda to take what's not there's.

Charlie Boy Does not Deserve a Bus Stop in Lagos

My name is Mrs Ebunola Adebusoye. I'm the Deputy Women leader of Indigenous Lagos Teachers Association

I write this in my personal opinion. My group has not authorised me to do this on its behalf, but I have to do it after consultation with the Lagos General Secretary, at least to avoid organisational discipline. I'm happy I was given to go-ahead to write my own personal opinion.

I speak on the reigning issue of the renaming of Charly Boy Bus Stop in Lagos to Badoo Bus stop, an exercise executed by the Chairman, Bariga LCDA.

First of all, I thank the Chairman for living up to the expectations of the people of Gbagada where Charles Oputa, alias Charly Boy also referred to as Area Father lived and tormented the residents for many years. As a Lagos indigene and from the Royal home, we are proud of what the Chairman did.

At 65 and as a retired School teacher, I have a sense of what morality means.

Having a Bus Stop with the name Charly Boy is an attempt to glorify immorality of the highest order.

Firstly, Area Father never had a Bus Stop allocated to him at Gbagada. When he moved here many years ago, the first thing he did was to pull down the existing Bus Stop signpost which was second Pedro named after a prominent Lagos family that had put in sweat and blood to the growth, fame and rise of Lagos.

Charly Boy was never officially allocated any Bus Stop. That is the truth. Calling the place Charly Boy was his own creation.

Secondly, Charly boy lived in this area as as a little beast. He tormented the residents, turned the place into a jungle, a hub for hard drugs including cocaine and hooliganism. I lived close to him for about 5 years. Myself and my husband had to relocate to Ikorodu because of this nuisance.

He was an extremely bad influence on youths and the core values of Yoruba.

I recall his attack on a 70 year old Mr Akinyemi who challenged his rascality. He ordered his thugs to beat up the old man who he stripped naked.

I recall the children of this old man who came to challenge him were also beaten up.

These actions if taken in any civilised world would have been challenged by the relevant authority and Charly Boy would have been sent to jail.

He was contemptuous of Yoruba people who he derided and insulted so often.

He has no respect for the tradition and values of his host.

He owed his landlord 7 years rent which he never paid. The landlady, a Yorubaland woman died of hypertension

Charly Boy converted the rented apartment into a studio that his wife managed. He pulled down the fence and converted the building to his own shape.

He would insult and harrass the woman, playing music all day and all night. The woman died.

People who support Charly Bus stop should tell us what single contributions he made to Lagos or to the people of Gbagada. Monuments should be named after heroes not hooligans and common criminals.

We hereby caution and warn those who think they can continue to spit on Lagos heritage to beware of the wrath of our ancestors and at the fullness of time, we shall challenge them BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY.
