stanisbaratheon: Does that mean customers would still be charged even when the transaction didn't go through? Yes, that's what it means. The fee is for TELCO. A fee to grant u access to the USSD platform where u carry bank activities that the TELCO has no control over the transaction's delivery or failure. It's like using a bank's mobile app, u need INTERNET right? Same Internet u buy. So the session fee is like data to access the USSD 'app'. Whether the transaction is successful or not, u would have used some amount of data/session fee. U gerrit? |

TeamLeader: Please I need some education here. Dey con de charge me around 11pm. De tink say I go don sleep.
Abeg help me out This charge is the USSD session charged borne by customers that use their bank's USSD service and to be Remitted to Telcos (MTN, AIRTEL GLO OR 9MOBILE) depending on what network the customer's line belongs to. The USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) is a Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) protocol that is used to send text messages. USSD is similar to Short Message Service (SMS). ... This means USSD enables two-way communication of information, as long as the communication line stays open. An integration is done between banks and Telcos to host their banking services using the USSD platform hence, the need for telcos to charge N6.98 for each session (max 120 seconds) used by bank customers already enrolled on their ussd short code service to access financial services. The cost was formerly borne by customers using their airtime to dial USSD codes and carry out banking functions, then later borne by banks, until last year when some Banks failed to remit session fees to Telcos leading to a rift between banks and MNOs. It took the intervention of CBN and NCC for an agreement to be reached, giving birth to charging customers an agreed fee of N6.98 per session for onward remittance to the telcos. Most banks have switched to the automated session fee service where customers are automatically debited N6.98 as soon as their bank's session code is dialed. Some banks debit the lump sum once a month while some allow the system debit instantaneously. The USSD is popular with bank customers that use feature phones since they cannot use the bank apps. However, due to the convenience of the USSD service for banking activities, even people with smartphones have been endeared to using their banks' short strings. For you to be charged this fee, you had already consented to being charged (see screenshot) for each session (120secs max) per time. I hope this clarifies things.

Fintechs lavish money on people moving from banks because they believe they have the experience. You can always go back to the banking industry and even get grade 2-3 steps higher. A feat that might not have been possible if he stayed in the bank for the same number of years. |

He's not ready for any form of commitment, nor to experience any form of restriction because he's in a relationship. Considering how much ladies these days take advantage of the fact that they are dating a celebrity as to go overboard with demands as well as social media rampage on any of their relationship issues, he should enjoy the fun and freedom that comes with not having a gf. |

NGpatriot: This great leader is not interested in your hatred and bitterness, he's busy employing and giving thousands of youths to grow and prosper in life.
Asiwaju employed and is putting food on the table for hundreds of Nigerian youths at TVC in Lagos and hundreds of more youths at his Radio station in Abuja, all in all with his businesses, at least a thousand youths are putting food on the table courtesy of Asiwaju.
The best presenter in Nigeria is Igbo, courtesy of Asiwaju who gave him the platform and opportunity to shine and prosper, opportunities that your own useless and incompetent leaders can not provide..
The joke is on you.
God Bless Asiwaju Tinubu. Asiwaju's pikin. I understand you're fighting for your daily bread. But it is sad that this struggle of yours beclouds your sense rational thinking. It's a shame. |

LegendHero: These ones are confused.
What is bad in the FG paying WAEC fees? At least some governors are currently doing that for their states so I don’t get where all this grievances from so called Nigerians are coming from.
It is this same Nigerians that were complaining that Jamb fees should be scrapped, now someone wants to pay WAEC fees for student and they are wailing again. It seems everyone is confused in this country.
He has done it before for Lagos. Tinubu was one of the first governors to pay state student WAEC fees and he even extended it to non-indigenes in Lagos during his term as governor.
He also mentioned insecurity that needs to be tackled in that video so I don’t know why these so called bitter Nigerians are fuming over what he said using insecurity as an excuse.
