Currently I also have my money trapped in Meristem since July. I actually follow the recommendation or Emmasoft here to open account with them until now I am not able to trade on their system. I am just lucky it was my third broker as I have account with Morgan. So far my experience is far better in Morgan than UCAP and Meristem. I was actually opening Meristem to replace UCAP but again Meristem has shown to be the worst. For now I stay with Morgan and UCAP. I will continue to call and send mail until I get my money from them. May be they value small investor because I have also seen oga Emma talk so highly of them. maishai: Guy calm down, why don't u wait for ur acct to go through d approval process b4 making conclusions.
Mind u, u opened ur acct on sunday, a non_working day......
There is no rush in finance, ur acct will be approved, give it time
Use this as a lesson on the type of environment u operate in....
As for me o...... I still rate meritrade high as u still see a customer rep to talk with while ur bp was high |

That is what will give you PE

emmanuelewumi: Non shareholders also attend the meetings, they bring jobless people in their communities to attend the AGM.
Most of us who don't attend AGM, some people attend such meetings on our behalf through proxy. It is a syndicate between some of the shareholders associations, Registrars and the company secretaries.
Imagine having a total portfolio size of about 500k, but getting 4 times of the amount as your own share of the AGM expenses from the company.
For praise singing it starts from 5k to 100k depending on the praise singer and the level of rot in the company.
If you a member of the audit committee that one is about 20k to over 200k per sitting and they are expected to sit 4 times a year.
They don't need fundamental, technical or sentimental analysis for this, they only need corruption analysis. I am laughing so hard now.. and also learning. Now I know TA, FA, SA and today CA -Corruption Analysis. NSEMPA na the reall place to learn |

yMcy56: Since you're for long term I think the fundamentally sound, consistent Dividend paying stocks will be more like it for you....... The list you gave are good, but from my personal angle, if it's me, I'll remove Guinness and Seplat for now.......reason being that the current prices are high for me, you may consider them if there's pullback (price falls below CP). F.U.G.A.Z is good.............no shaft there for me........and, you can actually take part in the coming dividends for F.G.A.Z "if you so wish" OR wait till after markdown before entering the bus.......
Stocks in Food and consumer goods are also good. You can also do you DD and pick from the list.........Unilever, FMN, UCAP, NB, Fidelity, FCMB, APR, Custodian, Wapco, Vitafoam, GSK, Nestle, Total, Airtel, NGXGROUP..... The two Oil palm stock prices have gone up OKOMU & Presco), you can wait for pullback and pick from the sector.... There are still quite some others in the Small, Medium and Big Cap categories......such as NPFMFB, Lasaco, Learn Africa etc.
**Note** * Don't go for too many stocks * Have a strategy in place.....to be buying more and topping up the ones you have whenever market dips (price falls) * You have to fill E-Dividend forms for your stock picks and register with Nigerian broker with digital portal to be able to trade * Deal with your emotions. Not healthy for any long termer to be watching and monitoring daily price movmts of stocks. Patience is a virtue here. * Regular review and assessment is good for your picks.
* GTCO: The final qualification Date for dividend is tomorrow 23/3/2022.
Still typing...... @log1, You need to buy ymcy56 a delicious meal with natural fruit juice. this a great advice. All you need to do is DD and DD with DD....at the end DD is very important. the only next thing that is more important than DD is your investment or money psycology and strategy. Thank you ymcy56 always for you golden advice |
