it 's as if they actually left me here alone lol, i could remember when we discovered nairaland newly and we were about 8 top guys who were frequent here especially this webmaster forum  i shouldn't be saying this oo you know every now them don go they have more serious things to do  instead of coming here,  and they get banned for just notting  have been banned twice  where is timmy, skima,my2cent,afam,tundewoods, them plenty jareeeeeeeeeeeeeeee  we are those who actually started well on this forum  but now i can see reason with them  e bi like say meself no get work lol

see i don't want to start mentioning names,  but few people i know well are the brand development Agencies  they work on brands  like your logo,  business cards, e.t.c and don't forget that ad agencies does samething but gusssssssssh this agency don't have website or even design one for people. most of them you see underconstruction are the ones you will see for a year  still undercontruction,  it's only this brand development agency who also builds website  take PLATFORM for instance,  they manage skyebank account  they create their commercials too and also branded their website all their marketing  materials infact   if you ask AAAN to list all the agencies, you will discover that we have close to 300 and more  in nigeria  try to see www.platformng.com what am talking about  that company is a full agency,

A friend of my got a job in an Advertising Agency and i asked her what is the name of the agency and she mentioned one name like that well known agency but when i try to google the company  no search came out  so i wondering why will an agency exit and you woun't be able to find them online ! that means they are not practicing what they preach

I think Website is another means of advertisement any message you convey through the use of visuals and imagery are all called advertisement.

For instance if i google up an agency from the US, i could easyly find them on the internet sharply but here in nigeria, with close to hundreds of them just 10 of them that i can figure out got there website why some their web aren't working either,  or maybe their website is badly designed.

i expect an agency to atleast have it at the back of their minds that website is also a means of advertisment

if i tell an agency that i'm starting a new company and i want  them to create a branding for my company, i should expect them to include website to their quotation.

this agencies abroad,  create online campaign for their clients,  but the ones we have here don't do it,  don't know why they are not considering website design as part of advertisement.

hey why the love-vendor ? so you never hear about am before anyway sha  james as his popularly knowns abinibi and also his always called CreativeFx among friends who does design too.well his a good designer with good sense of creativity.

but you know have always say this,  if you a graphic designer and you've not been challenged with some ads in the advertising industry or better still work in a advertising agency then to me you have not really started as a designer  because advertising deals with you thinking out of the box and creating things that are not real just the image of that car you put up there,  and i was telling you i could put an image right into the car and it will feel asif the guy was actually sitting in the car, Advertising / creativity  gives you that thinking, an ordinary designer woun't think that way, i'm right ??

And most of the guys here say they know one stuff or the other in terms of some other design software  i bet you is not about knowing all the design  software but for you to able to work with it,  and determine which one is better for a particular projects,  and also all neccessary resource to put you on track is rightly needed. abinibi is very vast in the use of PS, FW, AI, some other programs, got a bank of Brushes, Plugins, Extentions, and got sense of creativity, but i see him use PS, often.

Yah, how do you start your first project huh ? a client called you for a pitch or he/she gave you a brief of what he/she wants from you, lets take a Logo / business Card design for a case study, i don't expect you as a designer to jump on the system and start designing your project,

And i don't know maybe you were taught in school not to do that, or with the years you've been in the industry do you think it should be that way

Well nobody is perfect regarding to this. i take myself for the case- study just one day i felt " gosssssssssh" i don't need any skech up to for this design jare-- let me start cooking, at the the end of the day i fell into a big ditch,

Just yesterday a client who i actually crafted a prototype biz card had to call me and told me he wanted a logo like this, after given him a logo carved before, now he was trying to tell me what he will like the logo to be later,

thereafter he showed me the logo he drew on paper and wanted something similar to that

Firstly when i saw it, i was like hummmmmmmmmmmm chieeeeeeeee this guy na big work ooooo and see the logo, it's more than what you think, it just like an Artistic job, whereby your artistic creativity is needed, hope you understood what am saying right now

Now as designer, advicing you if you have any project, firstly get a pen and paper and take a skech of what you want and firstly show the client if possible thereafter start using your computer,

if it is something you can scan, then scan it and give it some colours with your photoshop and when you are done, you will be amazed about your productivity,

And also if you think you can't draw any stuff, why not try opening Adobe Illustrator and try to draw some skeching or better still use any other design program you conversant with, bra voooooooo!

It's better to take a skectch for a design before you start your project, even the builders for your house did that too,

You are given a brief and you need to pitch for a particular job and you ready for the game, many creative guys and gals are people who i feel they should be paid alot of bucks for just thinking out of the box ! without this guys i don't think any company or products can survive out there, despite the compition around,

As designers i belive you full of enthusiasm and you ready to put your creativity to work, so tell us where do you inspiration comes from ?

Alot of peeps get their inspiration anywhere, why i particular derive inspirations from Ladies, yah ladies i mean, their lifes are full of fashions, i also get inspirations when i'm lonely just i alone, maybe trying to nap and all that., i also get inspirations from already made things you see around, last i aslo get inspired by something manufactured by someone,

As designers, we all work very hard every day at coming up with the best and most creative solutions for our clients. Sometimes, it takes a conscerted effort to get the juices flowing and develop original ideas. We do the research, work on the solutions for the project, and refine them down to the best of our ability to be presented to the client. What happens when a colleague, competitor, or someone else out there accuses you of copying or stealing their work?
WWYD - Situation 4

Here's the scenario. You're working on a freelance project and you go online to find images and ideas to communicate the solution for your client. You're grab some images to use for your concept board or to further study to create your message. You also get some verbiage or quotes from the Web to add to your creative process.
You find one image, in particular, that would fit perfectly for the campaign, but you're not an illustrator and don't know how you would reproduce it effectively. So, you place it in Photoshop or Illustrator and basically redraw it. You may even tweak the original image in order to make it "your own".
You present your final work to the client and he loves it. The job is a complete success and you go away from it with a smile on your face and a pat on your back. Suddenly, out of the blue, you get a phone call from an irate artist accusing you of stealing her artwork and threatens to sue.
You really don't think you've done anything wrong and try to explain that to the artist. She'll have no part of it and hangs up. Suddenly you're worried that you'll be billed, or served, in the next few days. What would you do?

The above scenario may have happened to you. You may "borrow" certain aspects of another artist's work for your own purposes, but change the details and nuances to make it fit in your campaign.
