there is a website a friend of ours here did for N1.2million when i heard it shouted he said why, i said the price now, he said make i leave story if i no beilve,
let me tell u you can even charge 2million depending on the client and let me tell you your location really matters too, the guy who did that site for 1.2million has an office at ikoyi area

it doesn't matter if you can't design a world class site, but your person matters. if u can 1.2million job, that means other jobs that comes in you will want to charge more than that, just for you to create a standard for yourself and the sky will be your starting point.

mine for an instance, i went to sheraton hotel to pursue a job worth N500.000 and you think i should dress on jeans and shirt just like that huh ? when the security alone is on Suite. hahahaha make i tell you the first time i went there for the deal,  i didn't put on tie, when i saw everybody looking good on their shirt and tie thing, 

The next time i was  suppose to be there i was wearing a tie looking smart and with my laptop,  infact the IT manager was impressed i saw it in his face,  the way u are dress, thats the way you will be address,  one Software developer like that an elderly man ,  intimidate me. asking me if i'm from 21st Century Limited  i guess you know that company !

Maybe why he asked was because of the dress nobody knows,  but it always adviceable to look good when going for a big contract even if it is 80k jobs,  you don't know who is who

okay what's the big deal if an entertainment got the best look in this world and can not work as an entertainment website as it been refered to ? back there in the United state  6 teams can build up a programming website that fuction very well,  you guys are just making big noise,  afam do this afam do that  @onydic cause you do graphics doesn't mean you can do half job of what has been done on that entertainment website,  his simply good at Web Programming 4geting the fact, that his core jobs,   nonetheless that shouldn't tell you guys he doesn't know anything about graphics or whatever you guys call it.

what there about what he did ? his because he never fomartted the text or just because it looks so plain,  i agree entertainment website like soundcity got the whole graphic, flash and whatever you guys want but bet me he doesn't function like this one i'm seeing here. it diff 4 someone to have creative sense and it is a diff ball game to have good thinking of what you want your site to function like.

Afam accept it or not  you a core programming person and don't mean to say u don't know anything conbining colours or graphics togther,  i will say it and i will keep saying it,  Afam like doing is things is own way.

you can't compare someone who does graphic and someone who spent all is life programming.

Hm, where to begin. As can be expected Nairaland. Useful reviews are rare and far-between. I usually dn bother reviewing such sites, but you seem like you want to make a difference so,

First, I believe what's killing many nigerian websites is this mentality of multi-tasking and it's-mine-so-ill-do-it-alone. If you know you have weaknesses in design, then why don't you get someone who's focal point IS design, instead of creating something's that sub-par, and justifying yourself?

The site, I don't know. If you don't have an eye for aesthetics at all, then you can't understand the way i feel. EVERYTHING's WRONG. If it has all the functionality in the world and it's not easy on the eyes, people will get bored and walk away, not expectin much. Kinda like a bashed up car with fancy features.

1. The colours. What exactly is the colour scheme? I always say this, before u start throwing up a css, it helps tp create a graphic of what you ultimately want the site to look like. Photoshop is my tool of choice. Play around. Try to avoid using so many unrelated colours. Cos thats the only way i can describe using orange and maroon in one place. Try online colour scheme choosers if your not too good with complimentary colours.

2. The gradient header and footer thingy? No. Just no. Nothing screams unprofessionalism like graphics that look like they were created in MS Paint.

3. The different navigation bars are inconsistent in width. Why aren't they straight and alignned at the edges?!?

4. Fonts too big and too drab. Refrain from using Arial. It's easily one of the dullest fonts EVER. IMHO. Try stuff like Tahoma, Verdana, Georgia, and Trebuchet MS for dynamic text, then try other fonts for headers titles that won't change often (which can be saved as images). http://dafont.com. Just don't go crazy.

5. It's boring. Thought it was an entertainment site? Add more graphics, use rounded edges for corners, put images, SOMETHING. I don't think you've visited enough sites, or you would have seen what im talking about.

6. For goodness sake please do away witht that HUGE orange ad. Ads shouldnt be so distracting from the content. It's annoying.

7. Just start design again. I didn't talk about functionaity because thats not my area. I strongly suggest getting a graphic person.

oga 2cent, actually those pictures you saw there are coming from sheraton hotel, the fella who gave me the deal is the IT MANAGER at sheraton,  so he has ask me to use those pictures anywhich way i should just bring a demo, so that he can introduce me to one lady director like that at sheraton and deal will be sealed, 

Humm you see my laptop crashed and what i have left now is ma desktop computer, i will install FF and get those thing Fixed, 

To that invoice,  i think i will have to covince them more in my proposal on how they can benefit from it. no need to take invoice to Bank, all they will have to do is to take Invoice to the Customer care and he/she will confirm that in the database and handover the room keys to  customer simple as that !

Really an Hotel website should be able to allow customers to book online and pay via interswitch or whatever and give them their invoice after payment made, i want to put features like Live Chat e.t.c you guys should let me know other feature i should put again !
