He has kept none of his campaign promises. Removing subsidy was not a campaign promise. Neither was floating naira. Neither did he promise to widen the tax net. Those were not his campaign promise. Go back and read the renewed hope propaganda document before telling lies

Expand access to CNG

Stop adding audio to audio in terms of promises

If we're to go by the promises and announcements of this administration, Nigeria should be dragging with US in terms of quality of life by now
That's a lie. The promises made clearly pointed to a period of hardship. He clearly said he would:

1. Remove subsidies
2. Float the dollar
3. Widen the tax net

Etc

These are all things he has acted on. Tinubu has kept most of his campaign promises actually, and no he never promised a rosy time either.

Einstein, Tesla and Hawkings are gone, Our world moved on like its never seen them before. Bigger people and inventions came after them too

Rest abeg.
Absolutely not true. Till today Einstein is synonymous with genius everywhere. Hawking too to a lesser extent. And of course one of the world's most relevant entities is named after Tesla.

Their work is still relevant to modern science and technological development and will likely be for centuries.

And even when the world has moved beyond that level, they will still always be remembered, just as Sir Isaac Newton, Galileo, Socrates, Aristotle, Plato, and other great thinkers.

Where in this case did the judiciary do its job, where you don't have clear evidence and false records wrong witnesses from the police oga pray that Nigerian police don't happen to you, otherwise you will kill yourself. When people say they rather run to a thief than police they know what they are saying. The judiciary is supposed to educate the police as they are making judgement, it's like the judges can't add 2 plus 2 together or are not aware of the constitution. So many things went wrong that it's only the judiciary that you blame. I use to fancy a girl like that the day I discovered that are mum was a judge in Nigeria I ran away she thought it was something of a class it is but Nigeria judges are the reasons why Nigeria is messed up I don't want curses to follow my children.
What do you mean? Did you read that the suspect confessed to the offence? Granted he is now claiming to have been tortured. Did you also read that his lawyer never objected to the tendering of his confessional statement which is what he ought to have done had he been tortured into making the confession?

So with the combination of witnesses, including children, and a confession, you mean you, as a judge, still wouldn't have found him guilty?? Have you asked how little children just mentioned his name from nowhere? Out of all the people they know, why did they mention him?

There may be more to this case than meets the eye and the judge was not blameless in that the suspect was a minor who ought not to have been tried before his Court, but I think it is unjustifiable to claim that the Court's finding of guilt on a factual basis was erroneous.

Hope all these don't brew some tension between a cool headed Lookman and a volatile Osihmen. That super Eagles team has a great team spirit at the moment and could do with some lobg term peace, just that the ijiots at the NFA keep blundering non stop.

Looks like Osihmen looses only to Lookman. Lookman took over from him as the African footballer of the year. Last year PSG was haunting for Osihmen only to divert to Lookman at the later stages. Stuffs like this can breed negative competitions in a team full of young heads.
If anything of that sort should have happened, it would have happened when they were both in Serie A, and Lookman openly said he was aiming to to outscore Osimhen.

https://punchng.com/serie-a-lookman-vows-to-outshine-osimhen-in-goal-race/

Osimhen is clearly not that type of person. Boniface said when Osimhen won, he (Osimhen) told him that it would be his turn next. Well, it just happened to be a different Super Eagles player, but clearly, Osimhen is not the type to take such to heart.

You can also see from the way that he plays that he is not the self centered type.

Acidosis:
Is the blue collar worker registered for personal income tax? According to the Joint Tax Board, there are only 10 million people registered for personal income tax purposes in all the states of the federation including the FCT (40% of this population are based in Lagos). So much noise about nothing. Compare that figure to about 39 million micro business owners in Nigeria.

I don't want to go into that VAT conversation because it is a complete waste of time. The VAT nonsense has little or almost no effect on what the poor typically buys from the market. If you care about them, address the cost of fuel. This is one of the real issues affecting cost of goods/services, and not the VAT nonsense.

Every gain the government want to see via VAT removal has already vanished even before the policy document was released. It only takes an angry vendor or business owner to erode that gain.

If you care to follow my argument, you'll see why many policies don't work in Nigeria. We have mastered the act of ignoring our own realities only to run after shadows.
Okay. So is it Taiwo Oyedele's job to address the cost of fuel? Please remind me why you said he is a hypocrite again.

And since the context is tax, do share the tax reforms you feel would be non hypocritical.

Do you know any kiosk owner, shop owner, market woman, etc. in your neighborhood that pays "income tax"? Shake your head very well. These are the actual "poor people" and they pay more tax (indirect/multiple) than the so called "income tax." I do not understand how your tax bill affects the woman who has to pay money to at least 3 unions from local and state government, one baale (king/chief), touts, POS vendors, etc.
Any time you people want to talk nonsense you start with meaningless phrases. So there is a real poor and a fake poor?

So the blue collar worker earning 50k which is probably much lower than what the market woman earns, is not poor? And the so called market woman, does she buy basic good that have VAT?? When she buys medicine does she pay VAT on that? Can removing VAT on such make her less multi-dimensionally poor?

MadPolitician:
Tinubu is heavily engrossed in anti igbo politics and someone close to him should tell him that such taunting tactics do not rattle the igbos anymore. No one worries about his tribal approach to national issues as everyone knows he can't do better. Going all out to celebrate a man who was responsible for the killing of millions of igbos at this juncture in Nigerias history is just pure petty politics. It is like Nwesom Wike renaming the PH stadium over the same Gowon at the height of his anti igbo outbursts while he was the governor of RiversState. .. You win nobody over with such moves. You only stiffen resolves elsewhere.

Wike committed a genocide at Obigbo, and suddenly he became tinubus favourite politician. Bayo Onanuga went on his infamous anti igbo rant and said some of the most unspeakable things about the igbo, Tinubu rewarded him with a top position in his government. Buhari was endlessly lambasting and lampooniing the igbos..., the more he did, the more support he got from Tinubu, Obidients had their minor roforofo with Wole Soyinka and all of a sudden, Tinubu started naming streets and highways after Wole. Reno Omokiri them...
Now this..

This is a very odious pattern from a man who formed a political party whose integral political outlook revolves around petty ethnic baits and primutive taunts.
If not for having a terribly small mind you ought to have realized that Gowon achieved a milestone of 90 years and while you may see him as an enemy of your people, in the larger context of Nigerian history, he is the president who kept this country together.

Soyinka equally achieved a major milestone in age and was celebrated all over the country. In any case, how exactly can Soyinka be said to have offended Igbos in particular by his conflict with Obidients? Are you admitting something we don't know about the nature and thrust of the Obidient movement?

As for Wike, it is obvious the role he plays as a 5th columnist within the PDP. This deserves no comment.

So they are useful oh
First of all, only Niger is our neighbor among the departees. Secondly, that they have left ECOWAS does not then mean they are at war with Nigeria. We can continue to have normal diplomatic relations. Have you been to the east? For example, what do you think is responsible for having checkpoints pole-to-pole not kilometres? What logic could that be?
Yes, I lived in the east for a year and in that time I travelled by road to nearby states frequently. There are no checkpoints from pole to pole. At least, I can confidently say, not in Enugu. Not in Abia. On certain major highways, there are indeed numerous checkpoints, especially around the areas where two State borders meet, but the only thing that happened was that civilians had to get down and walk a short distance and then continue.

What you people conveniently ignore is the fact that States like Benue and Kogi have just as many checkpoints.

This is just not a FAIR EXCUSE..
It's even a very big lie.

There are terrains we really need them to have up to 100 checkpoints..
But you won't see them there.
NOT EVEN ONE CHECKPOINT..

..

THEY WOULD CLUSTER THEMSELVES ON THE EXPRESSWAYS CLOSE TO CITIES AND TOWNS WHERE THERE ARE LOTS OF CIVILIAN ACTIVITIES.
So you presume you know which terrain needs 100 checkpoints better than the CDS? It's almost as if you lack basic comprehension too. He literally said open terrain - such as on the highways, does not require as many checkpoints. The obvious logic is simple. Villains who operate in vehicles can only disappear into urban or semi urban environments where there are roads for their vehicles. Thus, more checkpoints are needed around such areas.
