I don't know why this is always a subject of argument. The line of Kings in Benin and most Yoruba kingdoms is from Oduduwa.

The people themself might not necessarily share that heirloom
But where and when has such an argument ever taken place?? Oranmiyan of Ife has never been disputed. Oduduwa is the subject of the dispute.

All of you saying saying osimhen shouldn't go back to napoli don't know nothing, It's a shame,he actually might have won the battle but he lost the war! Did you guys know he signed a contract extension till 2027? He's been tied down by Napoli thats why conte is hinting at a possible comeback ,Going to Gala in my opinion was a temporary relief for Napoli to cope with his salary issues...
Contract extension with a lower release clause. Meaning it is easier for any club that wants him to get him once they pay the release clause. Learn how these things work in full. Saying people don't know nothing when you are the ignorant one.

I will give a detailed response later but first and foremost, please know that the claim that 97 percent of revenue was being used to service debt is the most silly lie ever spread in this country. If you think logically, you will see at once that it was always impossible.

PS: France / Corruption is not beer parlour talk. I know where Macron used to hang out in Lagos and it was a favorite hang out of mine as well. If you dont understand what's going on with France, I will take time to explain later.

PPS: If you know that the price of PMS is dependent on the USD, it is ridiculous to devalue the naira and expect that the same prices will not increase after you claim to remove subsidy. You will then have to pay more for the product again.

Later.

Well lets look at the instant subsidy removal on day one. Well, they claimed it was gone. How come the price went up again and again?
In fact the only place in the world where prices are increased two weeks after a nationwide protest was here.

The only place in the world where PMS prices were increased in one day by over 200 per cent was here.

Instantly you then float the naira and make everything worse.

Can you just look at the prices of groceries and foodstuff - and medicines?

Do you know how many people have died as a consequence?

Look, its not good enough to say he must have the NASS on his side and therefore bribe them. That is corruption.

As for the TAX Bill - it is not enough. The only contentious issue there is allocation of VAT.

This is a man who led protests against subsidy removal in 2012 on the streets. He didnt waste one second once inaugurated and removed it totally with four cynical words. Tell me, was that honest?

Okay, you then also remove electricity subsidies - drastically causing greater problems.

Look my brother, when Tinubu won, I actually thought it was a good thing because he is a visionary businessman. However lets admit he is not doing well.

Tell me, what is he doing with France? Is that not corruption? He has made this country the slave of the IMF and WB.

I dont think its right to say this kind of leader means well. He is out to destroy Nigeria and kill many of its people with harsh policies while he lives large.

Why did he buy a new jet? Was it necessary?
Why did he grant Chagoury a N15 Trillion contract - which was not approved by the NASS or even considered at all. It didnt go through any form of procurement rules of the BPP.

There are too many things to point to.
Its not enough to say "he means well" when people are being killed by his harsh policies.
You're mixing too many issues.

Let's start with the context: Nigeria's revenue-to-debt ratio was 97%. Do you understand what this means? Nearly every drop of income was going towards paying debts. This means living on more debt but already existing debtors were getting tired. Please do your research on these issues as it is impossible to have a reasonable discussion without this conctext.

1. Rising Fuel Prices

Up until recently, we have imported fuel, which means the price was dependent on the dollar. In the same post above, you have alluded to dollar being floated. Doesn't the resultant increase in dollar price then explain why an unsubsidized fuel price would then be increased? This is self-explanatory.

2. Is it relevant what he did in 2012? So if he was wrong in 2012, does that mean he should stubbornly persist in the wrong position just to appear honest? Come on. Let's have a serious talk here. Mind you, I never said Tinubu is a good person or he is the most honest person. I said he means well as Nigeria's president which he is today.

3. He is out to destroy Nigeria and kill many of its people with harsh policies

What would he gain from that? The easiest way to steal money as president is to maintain those fraudulent fuel subsidies and pay yourself as much as you like.

4. New jet is not a necessary talking point. I have agreed with you that some of the lavishing was wrong.

5. France and IMF. Now you are sadly delving into beer parlourisms.

a. How on earth can you say that having relations with another foreign nation - France - is corruption. What is the corruption there??

b. Under Tinubu, Nigeria has grown her foreign reserves and reduced her total loan portfolio. So what do you mean by slavery to the IMF and World Bank? In what way are we slaving to them? Does collecting loans amount to slavery?? How? What do they get in return other then their money back? This is disappointing and looking like you are simply hellbent on portraying the man in a bad light.

Well, while you are at it, I hope you can mention the Nigerian leader that has not collected loans since 1999. Good luck

That's your imagination. The fact is most of you sycophants only want something you can brag with not that you really care if anything improves in Nigeria. You all were the same folks praising Buhari for rice pyramids. Now that the pyramids have been proven to be a scam, no one is hearing anything from you. Same goes for the economy crashed by Buhari. You joined Buhari to blame Jonathan and you are helping Tinubu to blame Buhari today.
So your so-called hope is not because you really care that it works but so you can brag. Don't come here acting like you're so morally up there and love this country more than anyone else
Even you know that you just typed a pile of nothingness. I have never "blamed Buhari today" - whatever you think you mean by that. I have always mainted that Buhari did some good for whatever bad anyone wants to say about him. So where did you get your funny ideas from?

But I love the way you showed your emotions here, particularly the bolded. Isn't that a classic case of projective identification? My bragging, if any, is about the progress and greatness of the nation of Nigeria. You can easily go through my posts to see if you can find me "bragging" about anything else - like what? Am I a member of Tinubu or Buhari's family to brag on their achievements? What kind of senseless allegation is that even? Do you see how you think?

I hope you can now go back to your mirror and confirm whether what I said applies to you or not.

Not sure Tinubu means well. Too many other signs point to the reverse. The drastic increase in hardship since day one of his tenure is an issue. This, coupled with his lavish corruption and luxuries on himself and the NASS simply does not indicate a leader that means well.
But when you say this it sounds like you are saying Tinubu just sat down and said let me see what I can do to make the Nigerian people suffer. Come on. Clearly, the suffering is as a result of well-intentioned policies.

I agree that he has not helped matters by being lavish but you should also understand that any effective president knows that he must get the National Assembly on his side in order to push through with reforms, and Tinubu's reforms have been bold so far. Without a supportive National Assembly things like the current Tax bill would have been dead on arrival from day one.

What does Tinubu have to do with a refinery that was started and paid for by Buhari?
Well, maybe that at least he didn't tell them to stop the work and focus on Malta
And was there any point at which you stopped and gave Buhari credit for this? wink

Since you surely didn't give the credit to Buhari, you can give it to his brother Tinubu, after all, as I have often heard, Tinubu put Buhari there and is therefore responsible for all the hardship Buhari brought. So also the good deeds of the Daura man. No?

Dele never fought or ignored court orders. Yahaya Bello was "at large" and continued to avoid the EFCC. When he was apprehended, he was not only allowed to walk freely, but was also accompanied by a large number of praise singers and banger boys.

Dele, of course, "will deal with it," but remember to pray never to have a problem with a power-drunk "big man." Only then can you understand the distinction between Nigerian judges who declared a fourth candidate the winner of an election and the UK judge who sentenced Ekweremadu to prison despite your government's attempts to influence the proceedings.

I was shocked the first time I saw a photo of former South African President Jacob Zuma in handcuffs on X. But realising that South Africans don't even consider it a big deal was all I need to know that Nigerians are a finished, mentally trapped creatures.

It is totally wrong. Handcuffs are only to be used where the detainee has displayed an inclination towards violence or to being unruly.

Yes it's mostly seasonal but the difference is too much and it's happening way too fast so clearly there are also macro economic shifts at play.
