VDM is responding with a strong conviction from a place of many evidences yet Falana claimed not to have met Bobrisky before

Useless fight, as the Bobrisky himself is off to a new coast

Many evidences you say... Well that's good. The right place for evidences is the courtroom so he should go ahead and tender them there.

There is no single presence of Federal Government of Nigeria in Igboland. Nigerian government has used its economic policies as weapons of war against Ndigbo.
Ive always wondered what people mean when they say this... Are there not hospitals, police stations, army barracks, museums, and schools owned by the federal government in the East? Those are the elements of federal government presence owed to all States.

What is missing? I hope you won't say Ports?

The first time I realized that Nigeria can work was when a baby I know off, born abroad in a common area country, and needed a passport so he can cross back and get a resident permit in he country his parents resides, it was done together with a new NIN within one week. that was early this year!

I was like what? So its this easy, was it because of the payment was in USD?

Here now, is some fellow getting his within 26th hours!

A serious president will first of all sack the Police force, give the Army control over internal; policing for 6 months while a new band of patriotic police force is recruited and and trained among all cadre.

Sack all lower to middle cadre members of the civil service. hand it over to a new set of contractors for six months while a new set of civil service is recruited and trained. Every one who had earlier worked can not be reemploy. They should go start a farm! Or any side hustle or work as contractors etc.

Disband the entire judiciary and hand over all civil matters to a Military court, while a new set of NJC and its judges and members are recruited and trained. for six months. All former employees are not allowed to work. If caught forging credentials to get employed...life imprisonment.

Within 1 year, Nigeria will be the most corrupt free country on earth grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

The problem of Nigeria lies in these three set of people.....Both politicians and the ordinary corrupt Nigerian needs one or all of these three to do wrong and get away with it!
Imagine pretending the military has not been in charge of Nigeria before. Gen Z?

This article is being economical with the truth, which is that the majority of these searches are likely being driven by immigrants seeking to avoid Trump's harsh anti illegal immigration policies.

In Nigeria, all our goalkeepers tend to be good with their feet because most Nigerians only become goalkeepers very late in their careers, when it's clear they won't make it in other positions. Even Nwabali used to be an outfield player.

phineas:
Then you don't know Nigeria, the higher proportion of dollar in Nigeria is not even in the official system, and majority of Nigerians access dollar needs through these unofficial sources. That's where the problem is,it's artificial scarcity due to individuals deliberately hoarding available dollars sometimes to make the dollar rate go high. There's data by the way that says up to 90 percent of dollar in Nigeria is not in the bank... Can't confirm the exact percentage but I recall it was ridiculous
Now you seem to be getting the point. If dollars are being hoarded outside the financial system, then making the little that we have more easily available means of course that it will head back into the same sources of the artifical demand, compounding and not solving the problem.

The first step to a solution is ridding the economy of artificial demand. That's what they are doing by forcing people to bring the dollars into the banks.

Apologises if I seem to be going back and forth with you on this.

Even with the possible adherence to federal character principle (which you are not certain about and which makes it all the more intriguing why you are sticking out your neck to rationalise the matter), don't you still think there should be clearly stated criteria to enable as many eligible candidates have a chance at this opportunity?

Especially bearing in mind that the resources used in purchasing the vehicles are state resources which are contributed regardless of ethnic, political and religious affiliations?
Of course there should be. Are you saying there wasn't??

ivandragon:
Ok.

I was asking because I noticed you were one of those vehemently rationalising the alleged manner the cars were distributed, so I thought you had more details to justify your stance.
My stance is simple. The question of political parties is irrelevant as long as the federal character principle is upheld. Now if there is evidence of corruption that's a different story but even the accusers have not said so.

Please, what criteria was used in selecting the beneficiaries and what are the terms and conditions attached to it?
Why are you asking me sir? Not being a resident of the FCT, I heard about this on the news like you did I presume. That is why I started by asking the accusers to present a full case.

I then addressed their case on the strength of what they have already presented i.e the complaint that the award favoured APC loyalists.

I concluded that in the absence of other facts, this alone does not disclose an offence.

It's called an analogy and I expected it to be beyond your comprehension.

If there is no transparency and integrity in a small "youth empowerment" programme of maybe a couple 100 millions in Naira, younexoect integrity, accountability and transparency in bigger programmes running into hundreds of billions?

I also expect this point to be beyond your comprehension.

I will not bother to respond to you further.

You are right Mr SmartyPants smiley
Well your heart is in the right place but the real problem you have is that you are an olodo.

That's probably why you don't know that when you compare two unlike terms in order to make analogy, you have committed the logical fallacy called faulty analogy. Google it so you don't repeat it.

That's probably also why you have concluded on the basis of a 3 paragraph statement bereft of details, that there was no transparency in the program. In fact, how could the so called investigators have investigated the recipients if the award was not transparent to some degree?

As to your 'threat' not to respond to me again. cheesy Did I mention you or you mentioned me? What makes you think I've even taken notice of your username? What a moro.n you are!

Of course that's all that matters.

Same way criminal governors inflate contracts and build flyovers and airports but all that matters is that it was built.

Like I said, with people who think like you being in the majority, I frankly don't see a way out for Nigeria.
There is no parallel with the procurement fraud you allude to and what the minister has done here because, as I have pointed out, what the law requires is respect for federal character not political parties.

I understand what you think your point is but you're wrong.

Where do you buy dollars when you need it? That's the place to start... make it easy to get dollars.

Foreign remittances alone was more than our dollar demand in one quater in 2024
You don't seem to get the question I asked. Listen again... How do you demystify a scarce resource?

Do I take it that your argument is that Nigeria's total dollar supply exceeds its total dollar demand? That's obviously false. Market realities clearly show the opposite.
Politics › Re: 80 Cars Bought With Public Funds Delivered To APC Loyalists In FCT - Monitng by SmartyPants(m): 1:01pm On Nov 01, 2024

You take money from our common patrimony, billions of naira, and you distribute to party members in the name of rewarding "loyalty".

The scary part is that majority of Nigerians think just like you. And we wonder why the country is the poverty capital of the world?

I'm neither disappointed nor surprised. You people's suffering is just warming up.
Nonsensical talk. What Wike did was a youth empowerment scheme by way of taxi driving.
Now to take a brief detour, note that the word used was "loyalist" which is a broad term you've disingenously switched out for "party member" in order to make your tedious point.

And in case you want to embarrass your education by claiming not to get the distinction, the difference is that loyalist is such a vague term that even someone who merely posts on twitter that they support a certain party could be called a loyalist. Is that a reasonable basis to deny someone an economic opportunity?

This is the bottom line: Are there 80 less unemployed youths today as a result? If yes, that's what matters no whether they are APC "loyalists"

Take it or leave it.
Politics › Re: 80 Cars Bought With Public Funds Delivered To APC Loyalists In FCT - Monitng by SmartyPants(m): 12:34pm On Nov 01, 2024
They should share their data to conclusively prove that the 80 recipients are exclusively APC loyalists. However it must be said also that provided the loyalists-so called, cut across all regions and ethnicities of Nigeria, then there is no legal ground for complaints. Loyalists are Nigerian citizens after all.

Although this appears to be the best approach to tackle banditry and insecurity in the country, it may not be realistic, as Nigeria has many disgruntled individuals. Small conflicts can easily spiral out of control, often with fatal consequences.

If people are that predisposed to killing each other they would do it anyway, with or without guns. Most Nigerians are preoccupied with survival and making money. The criminally minded ones already have easy access to guns.

Draconian policy here, this cannot be the way to go about this.

Think incentives, think high yielding dollar funds, think easy availability of dollars when wee need it, demystify access to the dollar in Nigeria and make things easy for people, that would be a good place to start.
How exactly does one go about demystifying access to a scarce resource?
