gozmok1: Lagos is home to all Nigerians. Lagos is property of nobody. When Akinola Aguda recommended that capital of Nigeria be relocated to Abuja, too many Yorubas followed to Abuja for lucre. But too many Igbos remained behind in Lagos, contribute to development of Lagos till today. Crude oyel proceeds from the Niger delta region also helped to build Lagos. Igbos don't destroy what they built.
Only a handful of Aboki will reduce ronu f00ls talking now to nothing. Ofemanú people are illlivered. I Don't take their ranting to be serious. The only thing they can do to harm or hurt you, is back biting, back stabbing, betrayal and double standard. A typical ofemanú man is a coward! Every second line in this pile of trash contains a tribal slur. Tomorrow these ones will be on Twitter crying that nairaland is tribalistic. Clown! |

And that would seem like big money to you
But really, is it
Your #800,000 is just $500 at $1 =#1600
Note: I'm not saying reject NNPC offer. I'm saying weigh your options because your salary is going to appear to be BIGGER the more naira loses value. SO HEADS UP! You just want to talk. Jobless youths should weigh up which options? |

Thrasher2024: why did he implement it now? There could be a range of reasons - but the question isn't whether it is cynical, it is how did he arrive at the particular conclusion that killing protesters is the goal? Couldn't it just be so that they too don't join the protest? Why go for the most extreme interpretation? Beyond this, do you feel a 20% pension increment is the most immediate concern of the average soldier? If that were the goal, wouldn't they give them a more immediate benefit?? |

I was shocked one thug I know that snatches ballot box during elections said they were going to protest.Out of curiosity I reminded him that it is the party he worked for during election that is in power so why is he protesting? He told me there are some babas behind the scene that are sponsoring them to protest because people are hungry and angry irrespective of tribe or religion. So you know a thug that snatches ballot boxes and he sat down with you over drinks and pepper soup to discuss his plans for the upcoming protest.... I would really love to be a fly on the wall on your mind to see how your thoughts are formed. |

So how much did they put into the refinery? Can you see how you are stuttering with nothing meaningful tosay? This is a simple question you should be able to answer since you were very bold in making the accusation in the first place. All of a sudden its now you know that the EFCC should know better. Obviously NNPC diverted the loan which is why they only have 7%. And was that investment meant to help Dangote or it was meant to help Nigeria by securung a substantial shareholding for the country? tuzle: why would I feel threatened by what the oba said? I am pointing out the fact that in Nigerian, people have to make statement about accommodating other people from the same country just because they are from different state which is wrong. Also I pointed out the fact that the endsars thing was a one time thing and not something that has occured regularly. We have had protest after that and before that and there was nothing like destruction of property. Even during the occupy Nigeria, we didn't have destruction of property, so why do they bring it up anytime a protest want to happen like it is the usual thing that happens every time. It's not wrong to talk about hosting other Nigerians because we operate a federation and one of the principles under that structure is that everyone has what is called a State of Origin, and when you step out of that State, you become a stranger to some extent. It is also necessary on a common sense level to recognize that Nigeria is uniquely diverse, thus there are nuances in our shared existence that may be unusual in global context. One of such is that we have areas that were, generally settled by homogeneous groups with distinct cultures. For harmony between such groups, it is necessary to have some concept of behavioural boundaries. As regards the fact that there haven't been numerous destructive protests, the fact is that as we say in sports, you are only as good as your last game. So since the last game was a violent one, what else would be expected of the next one, particularly when it is being driven by roughly the same group of people as the last time? |

yemex04: When a protest is tagged "Day of Rage" there is nothing more to tell, it is self expressive. I wonder why they chose "rage" when "outrage" would have expressed the severity of the situation just as well, without the same suggestiveness of an incitement to violence. |
