Hello Guys.

Please I want to write ICAN November Diet foundation exams. Due to my very busy schedule and the fact that I don't know any chartered accountant close to my location, I decided to go through a popular education consulting agency close to me. Since July up-till now, I have paid a total of N35,000 to the agency. However, I am yet to see any proof that I am actually an ICAN student. I thought I was supposed to individually fill a form but because I told my agent that it was taking too long, he called me the next week to ask for my details over the phone. The only time I get to see him otherwise is on Saturdays when I don't go to work. I received this said call almost a month ago and till today, I am yet to see my registration number on the ICAN platform. I am about to lose my cool. I personally need at least 2 months to study because of my work schedule. I will still have to seek exemption before I get my study materials hence the N35,000. i find it hard to read on my laptop, I'm more of a book person. If by the first week of September I hear nothing, I plan to call off the whole thing and ask for a refund. There's no point writing an exam I'm not sure I'll pass. I just want to find out from you guys if any one registered around the 1st week of August but is still yet to get a registration number. Please this is urgent. Thank you.

when you say agent, do you mean tutorial centre?
I have never heard of any agency for Ican. I did all my registrations myself and got exemption after finishing the process. You should have gone to a tutorial centre and pay that 35k for classes, they will help you with your registration for free.

If you can get back your money, please do, but do not call everything off....being a chartered accountant is something you shouldn't joke with.
That's your passport to greater opportunities in your career.

A friend resigned from his previous place of work were he was earning 140k due to some issues he had. He searched for a decent job for a while, but he couldn't find, so he took up a contract work for 45k as a single guy.

He got married within the middle of the year he started the contract work. Before the end of that same year, the company confirmed him as a full staff with 300k and an official car.

You're not getting the point. Its not simply about writing ICAN exams, the "person" wants to be able to get a decent job, anybody can write exams; getting decent employment is a different thing.

Your ICAN qualification can help patch up your 2.2 degree, I do not think it can make up for a 3rd class degree, good employers will probably not overlook the "3rd class"

what do you mean by good employers?...The only thing his grade can do is to limit him from some opportunities...it doesn't totally take him out of the job market.

There are employers who don't really care about your class of degree. What they want is someone who can get the job done.

Did you guys also read about his ex-girlfriend who was there for him and his brother all through their struggles, and lost her job because she gave them key to her company's apartment to live in.

You will register first. when your registration is processed and your registration number sent to you, then you can apply for exemption.
