President Goodluck Jonathan and his closest cronies are still collaborating with a tight-nit circle of military officers to scuttle Nigeria’s general elections that had been postponed by six weeks from the original date of February 14, 2015, according to revelations by several political and security sources. After failing to gain traction with the floating a so-called government of national unity, Mr. Jonathan and his associates have placed renewed hope in persuading some top military generals to force another postponement of the elections, once again using insecurity as their ruse. SaharaReporters had revealed through several reports that President Jonathan was set on invoking the climate of insecurity in Nigeria’s northeast to win a postponement of the elections. However, with members of his party admitting that Mr. Jonathan’s electoral fortunes remain dire, the president has been persuaded by hawks close to him to try a fresh tactic of using the uneasy military situation in the northeast to thwart the elections. Our sources disclosed that the latest plot is being anchored by the National Security Adviser, retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki, who has virtually assumed the functions of the Minister of Defense, Aliyu Gusau. The minister of defense, Gusau who is the NSA's in-law has been tipped to head an interim government in case it becomes a necessity. A military source told SaharaReporters that Mr. Sambo was now deploying his tremendous financial power to recruit top army generals into doing his bidding. Apart from the NSA, Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison Madueke and Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State were identified as the other important players in the latest risky gamble to further postpone elections. Whilst Ms. Alison Madueke has been providing funds to finance the new plot, Governor Mimiko has been offering strategic advice on how to combat politicians within the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) who may be opposed to the scheme. Our military sources said the evolving machination threatens to polarize the military as several mid-level officers are reported to be furious with their superiors who are warming up to the idea. One source described President Jonathan as unperturbed by the clamor for elections, telling members of his kitchen cabinet that his decisions are based upon advice from army generals fighting against Boko Haram. Although Nigeria’s military top brass had claimed that they would wipe out Boko Haram in six weeks, the evidence points to the reality that the Islamist terrorist group may be growing stronger and increasing its ability to strike against new targets. Recently, the Islamist insurgent group has launched a series of attacks on Gombe and Adamawa State, the latest state in the northeast. They have also captured a few more towns in Borno State. The postponement of the election appears to have given Boko Haram militants a new boost. In a recent video released few days ago by its leader, Abubakar Shekau, the group talked about their disruption of the upcoming elections. One security source said the latest plan to scuttle the elections would involve a deliberate effort to allow the security climate to worsen across Nigeria. One plank of the plan is to sponsor Niger Delta militants to cause havoc in the oil-rich delta region in the coming weeks. If the situation becomes dire enough, President Jonathan would then have grounds to declare a national emergency that would make elections impossible in March. Recently, political thugs financed by Mrs. Patience Jonathan began shooting at opposition rallies held in Rivers State. Such politically-motivated attacks have also been planned for several other states of the federation to create an atmosphere that would get more Nigerians to accept the unviability of holding elections, according to several sources. “The goal by Mr. President is to achieve another postponement of the elections, but this time by six months,” a source familiar with the plot disclosed. A source stated that the plan explained the fact that Nigeria’s security services have yet to schedule an inter-agency briefing with top officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to discuss a comprehensive strategy for guaranteeing security during the elections. Mr. Jonathan’s military option is meant to proceed in tandem with a parallel plan to offer massive bribes to members of the National Assembly to win their support for a six-month extension of the tenure of his administration. Several lawmakers said they were aware of the plan, but added that there was little hope of a majority of legislators backing the plan. In what represents a third plank of the plot, several cronies of Mr. Jonathan have filed or plan to file lawsuits aimed at scuttling the elections by seeking the disqualification of the APC’s presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari. At the latest count, some 11 lawsuits have been filed by persons or entities tied to Mr. Jonathan, including the government of Plateau State which has filed a case asking INEC to discard it current voters roll in favor of the one used in 2011. saharareporters.com/2015/02/19/jonathan-military-chiefs-working-still-scuttle-elections |

Forget your ex. Text me instead. My number is ....... |
firstEVA: Yeah he iswhat happened to your post/ writeup. Observe a guy well before you enter a relationship. There are romantic (guys that will make you feel happy, and ontop of the world. And these type of your boyfriend that is rough and no pleasure. |
Maybe the man is embrassed of his family house. Maybe it is one room house so to bring her to the house is something. For him to bring her to the his village even if hotel is a good step. |
besticality: I do have a simple question for the op. What surname does the girl bears ? . If she bears your name, perhaps your ex admits that she is truly yours, but if she does not bear your name, all I can say is 'hmmmmmm'. Wishing you the best sha. This writeup is weak. How do you expect the mother to give her daughter the surname of his aleged biological father. If she does, it wil lead to confusion in the future. The mother answering Miss A and the daughter answering Miss (the man's surname). That alone wil cause many problems |
The UNN Chairman of the governing council is from Enugu (alledgely or apparently) and according to fg rules to the university system. The Chairman of Governing Council should be from another state of origin where a university is situated hence the possible suspension. The FG may move him to another fed. University. |
Idi Amin: I know of a guy who is currently married to a ghost. When they were dating, he didn't know until the lady led him to her home in the village. After that, the lady still visited the guy and reassured him. Today as I'm typing this, they are living together in Lagos with kids but not officially married because his inlaws refused to accept brideprice of their "dead daughter". This is absolutely true life story because the guy is my pally and the lady in question serves me food whenever I visit them. Initially, I thought she didn't know that I knew her story until she asked me one day, ......"My name" why are you not avoiding me upon knowing my story? I simply told her that I believe shit happens because uptill now, I still hang out with my dead childhood friend. As I was growing into an adult, he was growing too. I currently live in LA and he lives in Las Vegas just few hours drive away from me. He is married with kids as he promised his mother in the dream 'according to her' that he will surely bring her kids. I also have interaction with my late dad who still send my mum messages about his investments through me. I tell you guys something, my childhood friend told me that half of residents in Lagos are his likes from beyond and I know many are here on nairaland. Let me quickly add this, I am a christian, so let no foool call me names hereThats scary. How do people tune in to the other side |
This thread should be moved to foreign section. A Nigerian/ Africa bashing tread. Discuss on China's achievements and importance to the wider world not on Nigerian/Africa |
GEJ has succesfully broken up the governors forum. They have zero to nil signficance. |
MajeMedia: Ndigbo have had a long and turbulent history with taxes, and they're seen as culturally unjust due to the republican nature of our culture. Thus governments that plan on staying implement low taxes. If Igbos were pro-tax, Nigeria may still be a colony (Aba Woman's riots, attacks and rejection of warrant chiefs etc)ude, thumps up to you. This is how political/ economic issues should be discussed not on emotions, bias and distructive criticism |
Dream of about how you and your family will attain greater heights in life and society. Dont dream about Nigerian politicans. They are all liers and big thieves. They dont care about the masses (you inclusive) |
FreeGlobe: Spoken well, I understand your point but what I don't like is how the governor tries to deceive people he is working and how crafty he is. If he is not whooping up all these propagandas about his performance, I wouldn't even care what's going on. I posted those pics to deflate the propaganda when it was at its peak. our people need to be enlightened. Its nothing personal, just that I dislike him and will stop when he leaves. I could be part of his govt if I want, I have his number, the deputy governor visits us frequently in his capacity, so you get my drift.Nwa nne/nna. Not sure. This your hatred for Gov. Peter Obi administration is because you are directly not benefiting 4rm it. Thats low (no offence). So you have his digits, put a call through. You wil not regret it. By the way. Are you on Ngige's staff paylist? Beause the way you rubbish Obi govt. It's disturbing. If you are a neutral (not payed by Ngige) and have this hatred for Gov Obi adminstration no matter how little or large he has achieved for 8 years. Then you seriously need (need I say more..) |
ekoson95: when i asked today if the thought of suicide ever crossed her mind, she said many times and even attemptd it but failedIs she on whatsapp? if yes, give her no to your close friends that you know can chat her up. When she sees that people cheer her up. it can help |
Help me give her my number. Like someone that calls afternoon and night. My no is 0........ Back to topic, why dont you map out time period when she can call you. Discus with her; maybe time when you are free that you can entertain calls. |
ENUGU — A healing mystery stream has surprisingly appeared in Nachi community in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, almost 42 years after it allegedly surfaced and disappeared in the same place. The miracle stream, as it is now fondly called by millions of Nigerians, both young and old, especially sick ones and their relations, surfaced and disappeared in 1972 and reappeared this time around in the area about two weeks ago. The mystery stream The stream is about 4km away from the old Oji River/Onitsha road. According to reports, the stream, which has continued to attract healing seekers, was first noticed by a Fulani herdsman who went to the area to feed his cattle, and suddenly saw water gushing out from a sandy farm land close to where he was standing. According to a source, before the Fulani man could turn his back, the entire area had water about five feet deep. The Fulani herdsman was said to have alerted some farmers in the community about what he saw. They went to see things for themselves, after which they took the news to the traditional ruler of the community, His Royal Highness Igwe Onuigbo, Obi (11) of Nachi. A visit to the wonder stream, Tuesday, showed that the community had turned it into a pilgrimage centre with the development, opening up windows of business for the people, especially plastic container sellers, food vendors, commercial motorcyclists and vehicle operators as they now make brisk businesses. Healing testimonies Meanwhile, there had been scores of alleged healing testimonies from sick people who either swam in or drank from the stream. According to reports, dozens of people, young and old including security operatives were seen fetching the water just as many were taking their bath in the stagnated stream, believing it would cure ailments. Some people said to have been taken to the stream last Saturday with crutches and other supporting devices, were said to have gone home rejoicing after dipping themselves in the stream. One Mr. Cyril Eneh, a civil servant, shortly after coming out of the water was quoted as saying: “Indeed, this is a miraculous water, people with different sicknesses have been coming here to receive their healing. And I also have the faith and strong belief that God Almighty, who provided this water will use it to tackle every health challenge in my life.” Also speaking, an octogenarian and community leader in Nachi, Mr. Festus Udeh, said the stream surfaces and disappears every 20 to 30 years, adding that it forbids evil things. He said any evil doer that goes to the stream might run into serious problem. Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/11/mystery-healing-river-springs-enugu-village/ |
