If anything consider the damage it does to your body. Did the bible not say our body is a temple unto the lord. So do you want the lord to live in a damaged temple? |
People constantly whinge, moan and shout abuses. Even when some persons come with cheerful news they are shot down ASAP by the whinging brigade. There are more bad news post than cheerful ones. The former gets more views and ratings. Maybe there are a lot of sad naija folks out there. |

Guys i completely agree with what you ve said. No need to drag it any further. I am completely against been judgemental. Abortion is a sensitive subject done for various reasons. Maybe the topic is not properly framed. Asking how many abortions one has committed appears inappropriate. |
look here young lady, i wont bother getting into a discussion with you when you are not worth the effort. If you are credible, go and search for any papers on abortion rates amongst 18 to 40 year old Nigerians, and lets critically appraise it. I can see you have been spoiling for a fight. My take on this is that YOU HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN ABORTING AN INNOCENT CHILD HENCE YOUR AGGRESSION TOWARDS MYSELF FOR HAMMERING ON HOW PREVALENT THE PRACTICE IS. As for the professor, i will not disclose his identity because doing that will compromise mine. He is a well known figure in society. Hope you get my gist. ![]() |
zebra543:And you are so right. You seat on your chair ranting and raving accusing people of falsity when you dont have a clue. Instead of calling people fools for having an opinion why dont you shut it and read what others have to say. It seems i have touched on a nerve and you have been so sensitive and abusive judging from all your comments. Have you been party to an illegal abortion that is touching your conscience? |
Activities at the University of Benin were at standstill yesterday as lecturers of the institution took to the streets of Benin to protest the abduction of another lecturer. It will be recalled that several lecturers of the institution have been kidnapped in the last few months. Emmanuel Agbokhai, a lecturer in the department of Agriculture of the institution, was allegedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Saturday at the school premises. The protest, carried out by UNIBEN lecturers, is coming after that carried out by the students of the Western Boys School, Benin City who, on Tuesday, protested the kidnap of their Physics teacher, Stella Akhabue, while returning from church service on Sunday by unknown gunmen. Kashetu Ilabavre, ASUU chairman of UNIBEN, who led the protesting lecturers, demanded for the unconditional release of the kidnapped lecturer; adding that they would boycott academic activities if the kidnapped lecturer is not released unconditionally by his abductors. Mr. Ilabavre stated that the abductors of the lecturer are demanding for N25 million, noting that neither the lecturer nor any member of his family would pay the said amount. The lecturers frowned at the spate of kidnapping in the state, just as they called on the security operatives to be alive to their responsibility in curbing crimes in the state. Conspiracy with security agents They also decried what they called the ‘civil manner’ in which the problem of kidnapping is being handled by security operatives in the state, and called for a change of approach. “We are protesting today because the spate of kidnapping in the state is getting too much and the insensitivity of security agencies in the state to handle the situation,” he said. “One of our colleagues has just being kidnapped, Emmanuel Agbokhai, right in the university campus while going about his research work. He was abducted on Saturday, and they are demanding for N25 million ransom. “We are here to draw the attention of Nigerians and those who are supposed to protect us who are collecting money from the tax payers, who are collecting money from Nigerians, to do their job. We are saying that we are fed up; we are being picked up like snails and we are not snails, for God sake. Let the security agencies in this state do something about it. “I am sorry to say that we are beginning to suspect that there is high level conspiracy among these kidnappers and these security agencies. We are very convinced that there is high level conspiracy and we want them to prove that there is none. Let them come out to say there is none and so they should do their job. We are also appealing to our traditional rulers, our royal fathers. We believe that if they make very strong statement about it there would be an end to it. We cannot go any where at the moment. The state government should do something about it. We are not afraid to say that we don’t have money to pay as ransom. We want the unconditional release of our colleague. Until our colleague is released unconditionally, we won’t go to class, ” he said. FROM 234 NEXT |
@ poster please disregard all the negative comments. know that there are a lot of half brains here that are ready to criticize people for no just reasons. you said you are from Benin. which area are you intending to travel to? i was in Benin twice last yr and once this yr. 1. only tell close family when exactly you are coming home. 2. chill out in Lagos first before going to Benin 3. let your movement be UNPREDICTABLE. keep changing hotels, and alternate with staying at home. let no one know where you are at any given time 4. don't were fancy jewelry or drive expensive cars. just dress simply to suit the hot weather 5. never take okada to your home address if you have to use one. 6. God forbid you are being followed run to the nearest police station Nigeria is a jungle. People living there especially in trouble areas have become so comfortable with hard life that they chew you raw with envy and indignation when you raise you concerns. Good luck. with the right precautions there is a 99% chance of staying safe |
do you want us to slash our wrists? |
Actually the amount is 1 billion naira. 9 billion is earmarked to be embezelled. |
who is guatemala anyway. even eyimba will beat them 10 - 0 |
nellaluv:Abortion is illegal in Nigeria. There is a penal code in the north and a criminal code in the south. An attempt made it liberalize abortion law was defeated in 1982. Abortion can only be performed legally in exceptional circumstances. |
after enough unnecessary delay. hmmmm fingers crossed. |
and the house says amen. |
believe me, i have seen and worked in a place where abortion is performed. you will be amazed at the number of people who turn up daily. at times girls are turned back because staff were worn out. a pastor brought his girlfriend, women doing abortion as they became pregnant outside wedlock, etc. |
Sorry ladies if i caused offense. But i used to have this professor of gynaecology who have extensively researched abortion amongst nigerian ladies. The 90% was the figures he quoted, so they are not mine. And i have read papers as well that stated similar values. |
Whao that was really offensive. Shame on BBC.What a hypocritical station. To imagine it is paid for by tax payers many of whom are nigerians or persons of nigerian decent. |
ppl wont ansa with the real user ids. they will have to create fake ones before being close to honest. over 90% of girls btw 18 and 40 have committed abortion at least once in nigeria. ladies if i lie prove me wrong. |
Again i seriously take this with a pinch of salt. We all know anti-tobacco lobbyist will come out with all sorts of appalling figures like this. Besides they did a survey which is the weakest form of research. The article failed to quote the sample figure used or in how many states this was conducted. In addition it was done on young people only. |
tayo_ast:Emile bench warmer Heskey, shaun run pass ball wright-philips, james potential red card milner all making the squad. Walcott with a hat-trick against croatia, and bent the second highest english goal scorer in the premiership being left out. Capello has definitely lost the plot. |
how the heck did this make front page. a dodgy lawyer of a vengeful psycho egyptian coming forth with this dog-poo. mods. please. you can do better. |
you have not answered the other question if you were paid as a mod. ![]() |
ok what. are you saying my joke is not funny? |
Nice one. Sound advice. The grass is always greener on the other side. |
that leaves zero arsenal players in the england squad. this must be the first england world cup team without an arsenal player ever. |
yes i do. it gives you power and with it responsibilty. were there financial incentives? and seriously why did you quit?? |
hard to imagine someone walking away from being a moderator. its like putting sugar in ones mouth and spitting it out. |
oh boy. you imagination is running wild. gordon brown ke. lol |
so you jumped. i thought you were pushed. good luck anyway. |
chic2pimp:i believe he has the most goal to match ratio of all the potential number sevens for england. |
i am surprised at his exclusion. capello is someone who has always attacked down his right wing with speed which was what walcott provided. walcott was inappropriately included in the 2006 world cup squad. now he has been inappropriately excluded. |
