The conference of curses that is about to be proclaimed is incomparable in the history of the ancient city of Benin. The Igbinedions only received "text message" curses under poor network.
This is going to be 3d video calling curses with digital network. All kidnappers beware. If you know any just warn them for the fate that is about to befall them.
PoliticsRe: Benin Monarch, Traditionalists To Curse Criminals by snowdrops(op): 12:17pm On Jun 06, 2010
Loveking no mind them. People have become too westernized that they forget that there are forces in this world beyond the natural eyes. Forces are indeed there whether for good or evil.

Even if these curses are backed by demons, the thieves, kidnappers, etc by virtue of their crime have renounced their rights to Gods protection.

May the curses consume all the kidnappers and other bastards that are compromising Edos security

The Benin monarch, Omo’noba Erediauwa summoned all his chiefs, traditional worshippers to assemble on Thursday to place a curse on the brains behind the deteriorating level of security in the city.

The Oba who gave this directive through the Iyase of Benin, Chief Sam Igbe, during a meeting with the Enigies, Igie-Ohen in Benin, said the pronouncement of the curse would take place at the traditional Urhokpota hall.

The Information Officer, Benin Traditional Council, Robinson Osayanmwen, in a statement said, all those involved in kidnapping, assassination, robbery and other violent crimes in the state would be cursed.

“The monarch also requested that the Enigie, Igie-Ohen, Edionwere, market women and other traditional worshippers should come with whatever they have to ensure that these evil doers in our state are wiped away for peace to reign in the state,” it stated.

PoliticsSharia Okays Yerima Marriage To Baby Wife by snowdrops(op): 1:56am On Jun 05, 2010
The controversy surrounding the marriage of an Egyptian minor by former Governor of Zamfara State and now a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima has taken a legal dimension with a suit filed by the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria against the National Human Right Commission [NHRC], the Senate President, David Mark and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Demeji Bankole.

In the suit filed by Sulieman Abdulkadir [SAN], the group is calling for the abolition of the Child’s Right Act 2003 and said Senator Yerima who is its pioneer member has the right under the Islamic laws to marry a minor as allowed by the Quran and tradition authorized by Prophet Mohammed.

While praying the court for an order for the enforcement of their rights to private and family life and right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, the applicants want the court to stop the National Human Rights Commission and the National Assembly from taking steps, decisions and actions against Yerima with respect to the said marriage.

It is their contention that sections 37 of the 1999 constitution guarantees and protect every citizen [including members of the group], his family members among others against invasion, intrusion or interference by anybody, group of persons or institutions.

The group is asking for a declaration that Section 38 of the 1999 Constitution guarantees and protects every citizen’s right to practice, propagate and manifest the doctrine of his religion either individually or in community with others and privately or in public, without and hindrance by any person, group of persons or institutions.
Besides, they are pressing for a declaration that the act of the National Human Right Commission by writing a petition to the President of the Senate against the acts of marital relationship of Senator Ahmed Yerima Sani to an Egyptian lady, amounts to an infringement/invasion and contravention of the applicant and its members’ right to privacy and family together with their right to practice, propagate and manifest the doctrine of their religion as enshrined in section 37 and 38 of the 1999 constitution.

The group is also seeking a declaration that the NHRC placing reliance on section 21 Child’s Right Act 2003 for the basis of writing a petition to the leadership of the National Assembly is clearly in conflict with section 37 and 38 of the same constitution.

It informed the court that when it became aware of the Child’s Right Act bill sometimes in 2002, it wrote an advertorial in some of the National Newspapers highlighting its detrimental effect on Muslims and Islam and called on the National Assembly to suspend its passage.

It is the contention of the group that as a practicing Muslim, Yerima has for a very long time been striving hard to guide his entire life by the injunction of the Holy Quran and the traditions of the Holy Prophet Muhammed and therefore perform only what the Quran and the tradition of the Prophet authorizes as well as try his best to restrained himself from carrying out things that his religion forbids.

It is the submission of the group that section 21 or any other section of the Child’s Rights Act 2003 cannot extinguish the rights of Senator Yerima under the 1999 constitution as to do so will amount to the said Child Right being in consistent with the constitutional provisions of sections 37 and 38.
Speaking after the case was adjourned to June 17, 2010 for mention, Chairman of the group, Alhaji Muhammed Sulieman condemned the action of the respondents saying it contravenes the principles and tenets of Islamic religion.

The matter was adjourned to June 17 for mention.

PoliticsBritish Envoy Laments State Of Lagos Airport by snowdrops(op): 8:29am On Jun 04, 2010
The Deputy British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Robin Green, on Wednesday raised concerns over the poor state of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport and its connecting roads.

He said the current state of the roads stood as a militating factor to foreign investment in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole.

Speaking on behalf of the various diplomats, who attended a ceremony to mark the 1,100 days in office of the Governor Babatunde Fashola-led administration, Green said the roads leading to the international airport were in a bad condition and had been a major concern to the international communities.

He inquired from the governor on plans to rehabilitate the roads and inadequate facilities in the airport.

“I have just discussed with my colleagues from USIS about the state of MMA and wanted to know what the state government was doing even though the place is not within its control, the airport serves as a window to Lagos city,” Green said.

Fashola, in response to the question, said that despite the fact that the airport was not under his direct control, he was deeply concerned with the state of the terminal building.

He said the airport needed another terminal building and that the state had submitted a master plan to the Federal Government for a comprehensive rehabilitation of the roads leading to the airport.

He said, “The Federal Government is currently doing some palliative work on the roads, that’s not really what they need; they need a total work. We are presently relating with the Federal Government to see how we can expeditiously build the roads. I am sure in a not too distant time, we would put this behind us.”

The forum, which had the theme, “Harnessing Global Partnerships and Opportunities for Rapid Development and Economic Prosperity,” was dedicated to the diplomatic community, which according to the governor, was part of his government’s efforts to render account of stewardship to the stakeholders in the international community.

He said, “This series is unique to us in Lagos. It is our own public accounting process to stakeholders in our democratic experience to share progress and challenges with our people and those who our actions affect, in order to promote participation in governance, which is a critical ingredient of democracy.”

He noted that in the last three years, the state government had engaged several heads of foreign missions in talks on investment opportunities and partnerships.

He said, “These meetings also offer suggestions on how we can work together to deepen our democracy and ensure political stability as an essential ingredient of economic growth.

“Our road show to the United Kingdom in 2008 resulted in the successful marketing and sourcing of concessionaire interest for the Lagos rail project and the reinforcement of our commitment to the Ikeja Mall development, which has now broken ground and is under construction.

“Most recently, I met with the United States’ Consul-General to explore ways and means of improving the quality of governance in our country.”

Earlier, state Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr. Obafemi Hamzat, gave a one hour presentation of ways in which the Fashola administration had attempted to bring dividends of democracy to the citizenry.

He dwelt on various projects executed by various ministries including Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Education, Health, Housing, Rural Development and Home Affairs.

“Suffice to say that in the last three years, the state government has constructed 248 roads which saw about 24,870 people engaged during the construction process. We have also created about 300,000 jobs in the last three years,” he added.
