I do not agree when criminals give poverty and perceived injustice as reasons for their actions. I am sure if Adolf Hitler was alive he would give you a page list of reaons he organized the holocaust. But crime is never justifiable. Never. I feel kidnapping is amongst the most if not the most traumatic. It affects not just the individual but the whole family and community. It is a very tense, dreadful and anxiety provoking period. The ordeal may last days to months. The health and safety of the victim is a constant source of worry, while his bank account and life savings are being emptied. It is a cowardly act that targets individuals when they are most vulnerable. Most victims are women, children or the elderly who are more often than not defenceless. Believe me what we need is proper prosecution of the corrupt in the country, a judiciary that not only barks but bites. Jungle justice will get Nigeria no where. |
@ poster Listing the capacity of each type of generator you highlighted will indeed be helpful. This could include what and how many appliance each strenght of generator can operate. By appliance i mean things like light bulbs, tv, iron, fridge, computers, ACs, etc. Also do you have in stock inverters? What strenght do they come in and what are the prices including for the generators above? |
Depends on the type of cement and the town you are in. Average price in Benin city is 1,750 naira. |
This advert was placed in 2007. Is the generator still available? |
PS; Pictures please |
Is this 30 million naira each or 30 million naira for the whole property? |
And how is this related to politics my dear? |
@ Mbeki Firstly, stop typing in capital letters. Secondly your feeble attempt to defend the actions of these societal misfits called kidnappers is simply pathetic. The politicians are corrupt and have failed the nation; Fact. Is that good enough reason to start taking people for ransoms? What happens if we all turn into kidnappers? Anarchy! Have you or a close family member ever been kidnapped? A housewife in Benin was recently kidnapped. As the attackers tried to get away, her screams drew the attention of "okadas" who gave a hot chase. She was thrown out of a moving vehicle and sustained serious injuries. This person could have been your mother or sister. So have a human touch to your posts. |
The recent visit of barack obama has gone into their heads. Let them pull out of ECOWAS. Sooner rather than later they will crawl back begging to be let in to the union. They should pick a cue from the Irish who rejected the EU Lisbons treaty during the boom times but gladly gave a resounding yes when their economy became almost bankrupt. |
You need to do a lot of homework. Isrealis are notoriously xenophobic and quite reluctant to give long term residence permits to Africans. Be security conscious because of the ongoing strife between the arabs and jews. Otherwise its a nice country, if you can find a job they pay as well as a european country. |

Not even an African city? Hmmmm. I smell a fish. |
Not only death penalty, but public executions by beheadings and stoning to death. These should be televised live so a stern message is sent to would be kidnappers. As for treasury looters their time is coming. |
Kick off time please |
Any idea about kick off time for the match today? |
Anyone know to time for todays match? |
We’re not funded by PDP – CRPP BENIN—The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) in Edo State has denied allegation by the state government that it was being funded by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Samson Isibor, the coalition stressed that the CRPP was made up of 25 registered political parties in the state and not an appendage of the PDP or the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) as alleged in an interview by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation last weekend. The coalition asserted that it would not be intimidated irrespective of the allegations made against it. It would be recalled that the Chairman of the CRPP, Dr. Isibor, was arrested last week by the police in Benin for alleged defamatory statements against Governor Adams Oshiomhole. Consequently, the PDP in the state and the CRPP accused the state government of muzzling the opposition. But reacting swiftly, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Osagie Obayuwana, said that the allegation that the state government was muzzling the opposition was an attempt to distort the facts, explaining that Isibor was arrested because he alleged that the governor recruited cultists into his cabinet was, therefore, arrested tom prove his allegation. However, Isibor stated that “the CRPP is made up of state chairmen and secretaries of about 25 political parties registered in Edo state. “These CRPP chairmen can never be bought over by any group or individual. The CRPP will not relent to criticize this administration constructively, so the insinuation that the body is being sponsored by the PDP is just another propaganda against the good intentions of this body by the state government. But we will resist any attempt by any body to cow us”. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/10/06/were-not-funded-by-pdp-crpp/ |
Whats the relevance to politics? Should have posted on a different section. Maybe Career, family or jokes! |
Lets know if you are there; lets meet online at www.lexulous.com and play some games. My username is snowdrops555 |
It is so pathetic. The number of people that have died needlessly because of one ritual or the other. Unbelieveable!!! The Government needs to start on a campaign to raise awareness about this menace [unless they are part of the menace and encourage ritual killing]. There should be some form of control on the practices of native doctors. They are not and should not be above the law. Murder either directly or otherwise must be punished. |
This is a joke. It beggers belief that any head of state will write such a letter. |
Guys cut Radiant some slack. She has made a choice and has simply expressed an opinion on NL. If you dont like it your problem. You dont have to agree with her, but stop making things so personal. Back off a little. |
only two colours in the world viz; blue and others Na lie. Only two teams in the world; "The gunners and the rest". |
Na wa o. Look at mans inhumanity to man at its peak. How can people be this wicked, ignorant, backward and demonic. They think she has money lodged in the hunchback or the hunch translate to wealth via voodoo. Why did they not just kill a camel; afterall its got mighty hump. Hope the culprits are brought to book and face death penalty. Who killed a 22-year-old hunchback woman, whose corpse was found in an abandoned building at Iragbiji, headquarters of Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State in the early hours of last Wednesday? This is the question which the police in Osun State are working to unravel. Already, three persons had been arrested in connection with the murder of the woman, while the police were yet to arrest the ring leader of the suspects (names witheld) said to be a member of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) at Iragbiji. The police said that although, they had recovered the hunch of the woman from the suspects, the corpse was, however, yet to be recovered from where it was buried. Police sources said that the 22-year-old hunchback woman, Taibat Oseni, was kidnapped at about 10.30 p.m., on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, from her house by the suspects, while her cry for help attracted the attention of a vigilante who chased the suspects to an abandoned building owned by a prominent politician in the town. The residential building was said to have been abandoned more than 15 years ago. The woman was said to have been killed by the suspects, who cleverly removed the hunch from her back. http://www.tribune.com.ng/05102009/news/news10.html |
The headline is misleading. Most ppl might think it is Chris Oyakhilome as against "Kenneth". Besides this should be in the Religion or Crime section. |
We still have long way to go. Its on the average 100mbs in Japan |
@ poster I dont see why you cannot apply for a visa. Restriction on travel when pregnant is depends on the airline and country of destination. For the former, mainly based on health and safety reasons in case there is a crisis mid air that requires medical attention. For the latter, health insurance, immigration reason mainly. |
Whats the point of this thread? |
Why dont you wait for the UEFA/FIFA player awards before year end . |
