I think Arsenal is in the good position to win the premier league this season. If Arsenal loses this opportunity, they should be expelled from premiership ![]() |
Lord have mercy. We are supposed to live tax-free in this country if all monies accrued to the govt are being properly accounted for. |
The shortest way to personal ruin, emotional damage and self destruction is to be a gambler. Gambling changes your personality that you become permanently anxious by anticipating a vague future which will never come. You start chasing shadows. Nothing in the present brings satisfaction so you commit all your real and unreal resources to the pursuit of the elusive high of the next win, the next score, or the next jackpot. You sacrifice relationships, finances, and self-respect, all in the name of a fleeting thrill. Your world shrinks to the size of a roulette wheel, and your sense of self-worth is tied to the spin of a coin. The anxiety and stress consume you, leaving you a shadow of your former self. Your present is ruined by the what-ifs, and your future is mortgaged to a habit that's impossible to break. The pursuit of 'the big win' becomes an all-consuming force that destroys everything in its path, leaving you with nothing but regret, shame, and the haunting question: 'What have I become. Be kind to yourself. Run away from gambling. |
The body is no longer yours after your death because you have no control. It does not matter what is done with it. Burial is a sentimental feeling of those who survive you. It is not a bad idea to donate your lifeless body for medical research. |
For those arguing yesterday that public universities are better than private universities, can you see this? Can this happen in a private university? Many public institutions are filled with narcissistic and pathetic lecturers who have lost touch with reality. What stopped this lecturer from asking for evidences that this was really the work of the student, and commend him if it is true? |
We must not forget the wickedness of those who designed the express way, knowing how busy it is , without a pedestrian bridge. |
You can never succeed as a politician in Nigeria if you don't know how to speak from both sides of your mouth. You have to promise what's beyond your capacity, live in a delusional state and believe that every other person is stupid therefore , they will believe whatever you say. So pathetic. |
Have you tried Brave browser? It is the best. No bloatware, no pop-ups, excellent security. |
This practice is so rampant now that the govt needs to look into it. Right opposite where I stay a family just acquired two babies like that. Though they have stories to defend themselves but I wonder how a biologic mother would release a four- month old baby to another family. Moreso, the family is from the part of the country notorious for miracle babies. |
This reminds me how I and my friends used to gather at the window of a man to watch IICC football matches in 1977. He was the one of three people who had a TV in the whole village and the only one who allowed secondary school students to watch from his window. Others put their TVs inside their bedrooms. |
What is the difference between these people and those in power? Nigeria is just recycling the same set of people. What did these people do when they were in power? Nothing. This is just megalomaniac and religious opportunism. For genuine changes we need a new set of people in power who will come with a new set of ideas. These one have nothing to offer. |
Those who sentence others to death publicly and display their bodies with glee are now running away from death. What an irony |
See, if you don't want to spend your gratuity on school fees, make sure you marry early and have few children, 3 max. I got married at 27 because I wanted to stop paying school fees before 60. Thank God, my last born finished university when I was 53. It was me and my wife forabout 7 years before grandchildren arrived. God will smile on you if you trust Him and make reasonable plans. |
I find the call for the return of Abacha regime amusing. I want to believe that many of those who are wishing this were not even born when Abacha walked through this land. If he was alive Nairaland would have been banned so you won't have this forum to vent and make noise. This democracy is better by all means. At least you can hide behind your keyboard to scream and insult people and still sleep on your bed tonight. |
Was the husband not aware of the implications of battering his wife before he did so? It's possible this was not the first time of beating her. He has to live with his shame because he invited it upon himself. A man who cannot control his emotions needs external force to teach him how to do so. He cannot blame anyone |
NCE graduates used to participate in NYSC till 1983 or thereabout. The increase in the number of university and polytechnic graduates made it necessary to exempt NCE graduates |
He was able to retrieve his money because it is huge. Many Nigerian banks are fraud enablers. When a criminal hacked my wife's account with Carbon, I got the name of the criminal and sent the details to Carbon. I went as far as getting a court order, the bank did not do anything. 150k just waka like that That's why my wife and I ran away like Usein Bolt from Carbon. |
Did anyone notice that the 5m is for the capture of the seven escaped inmates? It is not 5m for each inmate. This means it is 714k per escaped inmate |
This shows that a country does not all her need citizens to be graduates to develop. If Mainland China has only 6.9% of graduates yet it is able to produce it's advanced technology, then Nigeria has no excuse. Let our politicial leaders provide the necessary environment for the creativity of young Nigeriand to flourish |
How I wish there was a law that reduces the age of anyone who wants to contest for presidency to 50 or a max of 60 Thebidea if having old people men who should be enjoying their old age with grandchildren running the affairs of this country dies not appeal to me |
If exam malpractice earns you 3 years in prison , electoral malpractice should be 30 years |
Old age is not about wrinkles or dementia, it can actually be a really cool, fulfilling and happy period of life and it is something every young person should look forward to(unless you prsy to die young) Think about the deep wisdom you will have gathered from your experience ls with people and yourself. You will be a wisdom bank. Plus you will have more free time, no pressure of children or career. You will have the opportunity to dice into hobbies you love, travel tonplaces you always dreamed of or simply spend quality time with your spouse and grandchildren. Old age can also bring a strong sense of peace and accomplishment. You can look back at everything you have navigated a d feel proud. You can connect with young people at a deeper level, share your stories and be a dependable guide to them. Old age is not an end rather it is an interesting chapter of life with lots of unique joys and different kinds of awesome experiences. However, if you're young, it is time to begin to cultivate your old age by: Regular exercise, balanced diet Financial planning Investing in meaningful relationships Lifelong learning. |
This is interesting. So, none of these traders know how they can escalate this alleged "levy" by NAFDAC, they had to hire VDM. Is VDM a lawyer? Don't they know how to contact a lawyer to write petition against NAFDAC? VDM should have posted one of the payment receipts of one of the traders for us to believe that this allegation is true. Something is fishy |
I don't see how the smuggling of petrol can stop because if it's sold for N1500 per litre in Nigeria, smugglers can always sell it higher in neighbouring countries and make their profit. Higher price in Nigeria will only reduce the number of smugglers because of the heavy capital it requires to do the illegal trade. |
Is it automatic that once you block off the man's family, your marriage will be peaceful? No. This man is suffering from adverse childhood upbringing so he needs therapy. He must have had a toxic childhood and his coping mechanism is avoidance. You can set healthy boundaries with your families even if they have access to you. You don't have to block them. Remember, you will have children and become in-laws later in life. How would you like your children to blot you out of their lives as if you don't exist? |
I want to die empty. My greatest fear is to die with unused spiritual gifts and inner resources God gave to me. I want to make adequate use of all the resources of God in my life and be a blessing to mankind so that I leave this world empty. |
The chemical reaction of ogogoro and anger can be devastating. |
Your sister who is the breadwinner does not owe you anything. Each one if you must chart his or her own course in life. Thank God your sibling relocated to the UK Didn't she have a plan to survive without becoming dependent on her step sister? Take it as a favour if any support is given otherwise, fight your own battles. Stop this entitlement mentality. You as a guy should be more informed as not to depend on anyone for your success in life. Fight your battles. Struggle for yourself. Heaven smiles on those who fight, not those who wait for their sister to lift them up |
This can only happen in America No African leader will ever release details of his sickness. In fact, they make it a crime if anyone mentions that a 95 year old president has headache. |
What you believe will become your reality. If you believe wall geckos are demonic agents, you will have nightmares when you sleep but if you believe they're ordinary reptiles, you will sleep like a baby. I have lived in a developing estate where geckos are in aboundance, no one has even complained that geckos harmed their children. I see more than 30 of them every night catching insects. They don't bother me and I don't bother them except the ones that stray into the house. The African mind is too superstitious, unfortunately, it doesn't ascribed positive energy to anything, it's always negative. The demons you create are the demons that will pursue you at night. If you don't create a demon, you have nothing to fear. |
This one is more of a gambler than a prophet. Among all the issues if this world what his god is concerned with is the winner of champions League. He is a pundit, not a prophet |
Apart from warning the public, the authorities need to identify the promoters of these fraudulent entities and arrest them. |
