Ralphlauren:Yes please, but not until 3rd August. However, we're willing to do everything free for this first visit. No registration or consultation fee. He should just come in on Friday. The Back to School program you're talking about as advertised on the website entails free screening and free lenses for kids 0-16 years. It starts in August and ends in October. Since we're still in July we've technically not started, but we're going to make a concession for his case. Cc. Uncle Jaybee ![]() Cc. Metroeyesnig |
Please pardon me for the delayed responses. No ophthalmic consultant on Tuesday. Can we do Friday, so all parties involved are ready? The boy will have to be brought in by someone who knows as much as possible about his own medical history, and his family's too. I'll advice that he's brought in early, like 9am. There may be preliminary tests by an optometrist, but I'm not so sure. If TEHN is responsible for the funding as I suspect, a member may have to come along to pay for consultation/ registration. I'm sure he's in good hands from this point on. If you tell me what area you're coming from, I'll give a detailed description of how to commute to the clinic. |
Ralphlauren:Correct. You'll probably be speaking to me anyway, so its just as well. |
Good afternoon Tearoses. Weldon. First, the boy has to be brought in to see an opthalmologist to see what can be done. If a surgery is needed, it will be arranged. Second, Pacelli School for the blind, located at Ogunlana in Surulere is the available option for the kid. I did a story on them for a publication last year so I can find out about enrolment and all. It's free as far as I know, run by the Catholic diocese. It's a boarding facility too. Opthalmologists only come in Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and its based on appointments. Let me know if you need further clarifications. |
seunope2004 tohero please help me review allladiesgistparlor..com Also, how do i post under categories I have created? Thank you. |
For the sake of time let me make this short. From your write up I want to believe you're an adult. I got pregnant at 16 for a friend in secondary school because I was naive. Believe me, I hoped and waited that the dude would come around at least for the sake of his son. My son will be 10 next year, and he has never set eyes on his father not to talk of having a relationship. I have made several efforts to make him even show his face to my people as the father but he won't. I moved on and got married last year. My son will not hate me for choosing to be happy after all I do for him. Hey, move on already! |
Urgent vacancy, female not more than 27 years. Send cv to hr@metroeyesng.com. Experience in customer care is an advantage. Kindly re-broadcast. Thanks |
I don't think that's her reason. no one wants to do the hard work of posting and then have spambot hide it. she already said its too long. If she gives me the permission, i can post it here for her in bits. |

Only in SA do we see this kinda first! |
@op, the source of your post wasn't included. This was a message from MFM's general overseer. Please always let us know what's original and what's not. |
GLAUCOMA Glaucoma is a group of diseases that damage the eye’s optic nerve and can result in vision loss and blindness. Although anyone can develop glaucoma. The population at risk include: Blacks over age 40; High refractive error (Myopia); People with a family history of glaucoma; People with high blood pressure. Forms of Glaucoma Angle-closure glaucoma: occurs when the fluid (aqueous in the anterior chamber of the eye) is blocked from leaving the eye through the angle. This is an ocular emergency as the increase in intra ocular pressure is sudden. Open-angle glaucoma: which is the most common form. Low-tension or normal-tension glaucoma: this occurs when despite normal eye pressure, optic nerve damage and peripheral vision narrowing still occurs. Congenital glaucoma: children are born with a defect in the angle hence normal drainage of the fluid is slowed. Secondary glaucoma: this can arise as a result of other medical conditions such as from poorly controlled diabetes and high blood pressure, poorly managed trauma to the eyes, and wrong use of some medications. Glaucoma Symptoms Most forms of glaucoma start without any symptoms until significant loss of vision occurs hence the name “the silent thief of sight”. However, with Angle–closure glaucoma one may experience blurry vision, halos around light and sudden intense pain in the eyes. Screening and diagnosis of glaucoma Glaucoma can be detected during routine eye examination where the following tests are carried out. Ophthalmoscopy is an internal examination of the eye using an ophthalmoscope. Tonometry is the measurement of pressure inside the eye by using a Tonometer. Numbing drops may be applied to your eye for this test. Visual field test: This test measures peripheral (side) vision. It helps your eye care professional tell if you have lost peripheral vision, a sign of glaucoma. Pachymetry is the measurement of the thickness of your cornea. Treatments Depending on the form of glaucoma and the degree of damage already done your Eye Doctor would advice you on the best line of treatment to follow. Glaucoma treatments include medicines, laser trabeculoplasty, conventional surgery, or a combination of any of these. While these treatments may save remaining vision, they do not improve sight already lost from glaucoma. Prevention It is best to prevent vision loss from glaucoma as vision lost cannot be restored. The key to prevention of glaucoma is early detection. It's World Glaucoma Day today. When you come here to say NYSC is a waste of time, I'd like to ask the following questions. 1. Will applying for jobs immediately after graduation guarantee automatic employment? 2. If the scheme is scrapped, won't the rate of unemployment increase, seeing as a lot of parastatals are directly or indirectly linked to the scheme? 3. Is Nigeria the only country where people graduate and do not have jobs? Do you not read about other countries too, and their rates of unemployment? If this is the worst country to live in, Cameroun and Benin and Niger are better then. Hit the freeway! 4. What skills do you have that you want to be employed for? a whole load of graduates today have nothing to add to the society, nothing at all. If the government creates an automobile manufacturing plant today, how many engineering graduates can work there without hitches? All of them asking for a criminal database, how many of you have an idea of forensics except what you read/hear? Since your universities will still churn out half baked graduates, the government would have to ship in expatriates. How relevant is your course of study? Even those who read Transport Management will come out and cry "unemployment". 5. How many people have 'made it' by getting a job? Do you not see needs around you? Has it occurred to you that you could start to meet these needs, and demand for your services will grow, and your profits too? 6. If you think patriotism is tiring, after graduation, don't bother to get mobilized. SERVING NIGERIA ISN'T BY FORCE. I'm surprised at the outburst of these people. When other countries have youths who are forward thinking, some here are just bleating "scrap it, scrap it", Scrap what? Some don't even have Matric Number not to talk of a certificate of attendance, but they just join the crowd for nothing. In civilized worlds, a scheme like NYSC would undergo reforms. For example, youths won't be posted outside their geopolitical zones, and the duration could be reduced to like 6 months. Nigeria's unemployment problems needs more than the scrapping of the NYSC scheme. |
why are the worst dressed more than the best dressed? ![]() |
it's easy to play victim all the time and blame the government. when the pipelines explode underneath and blast you and your bambinoes to smithereens, you blame the government too. which way, naija? |
