Apple has confirmed its iPhone 4S in the latest released iTunes 10.5 beta 9. iTunes beta 9 shows the iPhone 4S in its two models: black and white.

References to the iPhone 4S are be found in the Info.plist file of the MobileDevices bundle included in iTunes 10.5 beta 9 released yesterday. Now Apple has pulled the software from its developer site (but we have it) shortly to remove the references of iPhone 4S.

The leaked iPhone 4S information suggests that it will be a dual-mode phone, i.e. it will be used on either on CDMA or GSMA bands. Mark Gurman of 9to5mac explains more:

Along with the new iPhone name of “iPhone 4S” comes an image, and it is of a CDMA iPhone 4. Unless Apple still has the CDMA iPhone 4 as a placeholder image until the new iPhone is announced, we’re fairly confident that the iPhone 4S will pack the CDMA iPhone design.

The news comes after the leaked photo of RadioShack’s internal inventory system showing Sprint iPhone 5. We STILL don’t know whether Apple releasing iPhone 5 with the iPhone 4S or not.

What’s confirmed today is that Apple will be surely releasing iPhone 4S by Tuesday

which means your fone was on 4.3.3 bb6.15 before upgrade, so after upgrading to 5.0, it was already on 6.15,did u get network when on 5.0? so after downgrading, u had to reflash d bb again before u got network.

After upgrade to 5.0 BB 6.15, tried Ultrasnow but no network
Downgrade back to 4.3.3 BB 6.15, install Ultrasnow, the phone went to infinte loop of searching for network, no network after reboot, it keep searching.

It was like that for about a day before I think of reflashing the BB, cos someone mentioned his BB was also mess-up by iOS 5 on locked-3GS in a forum too online.

Hence, i looked for redsnow version the one with iPad BB upgrade, re flashed my BB again (BB 6.15), after reboot the network came up,
I tried this 3 different times, same result, but on my factory unlocked 3Gs, no problem like that.

Anyway, I have tried the betas, nothing very special, By weekend, I moving all my 3Gs back to 4.1 That is the best in my personal opinion, till Steve Job repents or rest in peace.

1, u are able to downgrade anyhow from 5.0 back 4.3.X because 5.0 is in beta stage( dats d way it works). Immediately 5.0 is officially released. U av just (most times) one week or less to go back to 4.3.5(because 435 shsh will still b accepted). once apple stops signing it, NO MORE DOWGRADING OFFICIALLY. if u dont av d shsh saved,forget about 4.X.
2. concerning 3gs, what was your baseband before u upgraded to 5.0 that u couldnt get network after downrading? most likely, u were on a lower bb(like 5.13 and below) before u did d upgrade, u didnt preserve d bb, and u upgraded to 5.0 once u try to downgrade to 4.X, your bb will b upgraded to the bb of 4.1 and above which is 5.14 or higher, this BBs dont work with ultrasn0w. so if u upgraded to 5.0 custom(using sn0wbreeze) your bb will be preserved to d unlockable bb, when u downgrade, when u downgrade too, u av to preserve the bb(using custom ios), with dat, u dont need ipad bb flashing.

@Tumababa: I never do any upgrade without custom firmware, maybe it is because the locked-3GS is on weird BB of 6.15.00,, but for factory unlocked-3GS no problem.
I want someone to do this on locked-3Gs and unlocked 3gs too. i know there is something that mess-up the BB on iO5 for locked-3Gs, I have met about 4 people in a forum that reported same problem even with custom firmware,
Anyway, I think it will be wise for locked-3Gs stay at 4.1 to avoid all the erratic nightmare of Apple

But you can come out of the loop by re-flashing your baseband,  the only means of doing that is flashing with iPad baseband using redsnow.

This is my experience with my locked 3Gs with old boot-rom, maybe my 3Gs is just weird,  someone need to try it too.

@Tumababa: I dont know the problem people has with iOS5, I have upgraded and downgraded my iPhone 4 back and forth btn iOS5 betas and 4.3.3 with no problem, same on my 3Gs, but i found something very strange while downgrading 3Gs that is NOT Factory unlocked:
--> Anyone with 3Gs that is not factory unlock will NEVER see network after downgrading from iOS5 back to 4.X.X, but I get the 3Gs working by re-flashing the the baseband with redsnow with iPad baseband 6.15.00, no other way out. On factory unlock 3Gs, after the downgrade, the phone is normal. it sees network after connecting to itune, I have tried this for about 3 times, those are my findings,, hence i see reason while factory unlock iPhone remain the best!

---> I can't find locked iPhone-4 to see if this behavior is same (My iPhone-4 is factory unlocked). But I have upgraded and downgraded four- iOS 5 betas on my iPhone-4 with no problem.

Hence, i would advise unlockers to stay away from iOS5 even if the iOS5-GM is finally released to the pubic.

Open ur Cydia---> manage--->source, click edit and this repo: cydia dot hackulo dot us. click add, allow cydia to update library.
now search for "installious" click install, all dependency files will automatically install together e.g AppSync

Running iO5 beta 5 for weeks now. I am finding it difficult to go back to iOS 4.3.3, but I missed some of my tweaks, like iblacklist and Lockdown.
Infact, any tweak the shows up under setting for ealier iOS, does not work on iOS 5 beta for now. MobileSubtrate, a platform for most jailbreak program will crash.

iOS 5 beta runs smooth, if non-jailbreak,
But for iPad, iOS 4.3.3 still remain the best.

How do you know if your iPhone is factory unlocked?

If the phone is already in use:
Simple!, Unjailbroken, insert different network Operator SIMs. And restart the phone. or go updated the firmware on itune.

If the phone is new inside the box;
Connect to itune, and updated to latest firmware , let see what u got cos factory unlocked phones are identified by iTunes as unlocked, and will tell you so when you restore or update iOS.

iPhone 4g? When did Apple release 4g? , or You mean iPhone 4, ?

If it is iPhone 4, what is your Baseband?, check : Settings-->General-->About--> Modem Firmware
At least, that is the first step.

What is the best iOS Apple ever released?,
Looking at compatibility with most Cydia tweaks, battery life and ability to run most old & new App Store games,

I was ashamed that iOS 4.1, remain strong ever (from my experience of test running most of the firmware and betas)

iOS 5 is all about stealing most of cydia tweaks + iOS 4.x.x, polishing them to make another firmware.

Anyone with a different view?

I used my iphone 4 in nigeria with an airtel that has been activated. inputing

the settings only wasnt enough. i had a make a custom ipcc to be able to use

the airtel 3g network, case rested

Airtel for iPhones is a sorry case, brought my iPhone 4 originally for Airtel, I later changed it to Glo.
Airtel is the poorest internet ISP i know for nigeria of today.
Anyone, using Airtel SIM on iPhone is greatly under-using it

network by simply putting the apn especially with the smartphone. most

especially with the iphone becos of things like ip address etc

Network like what and what, iPhone never require your ip address, iPhone obtain your ip automatically when all settings are ok just like every other phone.
It is either your SIM is yet to be activated for browsing from your Telecomm Provider or your settings are not okay, or you have not subscribe to a data plan.

I subscribed to the Always micro plan n got a confirmatory sms frm them where they said it will be activated once i connect. I hav sent the info to 127 and got a blank response. I have toggled the cellular data button off n on, restarted my phone severally to no avail. Its realy frustrating. the call centre pple r not helpful @ all.
Do pls help my people. I even sent the All apple iphone3gs to 1234 n they sent me a msg to send yes to accept settings for samsung one. Even with the yes, am yet to get the settins.

You just has to wait for Glo message. I activated new Glo SIM yesternight for browsing, it took me 2hrs of waiting. While wwaiting I power off the iPad and power ON , and behold Edge logo came ON.

I just checked my Data balance too, I got 79Gb+ left.
