*OYEBANJI THANKS APC LEADERS, MEMBERS AS HE CONCLUDES VISIT TO 16 LGAs* … *Urges members to revalidate PVC* The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, on Tuesday concluded his “Thank You Visit” to the 16 local government areas of the state on a note of appreciation to leaders and members of the party for the warm reception accorded him and his team during the visit. The “Thank You Visit”, which commenced on February 21, was Oyebanji’s first visit to the local government chapters of the party after the January 27 primaries and it provided him opportunity to appreciate members and stakeholders of the party in the 177 wards. Oyebanji was joined by his running mate, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, on the last leg of the visit. In a statement, made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, Oyebanji said he was excited and satisfied with the great reception accorded him, the open and frank discussions he had with leaders and stakeholders as well as the demonstrated commitment of APC members to the success of the party’s primaries and eventual victory at the June 18 governorship election in the state. He said while political campaigns were yet to start in line with the guidelines by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), it was important to officially thank party members for their support, adding that the thank you visit to the various local government chapters was considered a better way to appreciate them. The APC governorship candidate urged members of the party to demonstrate their resolve to win the June 18 election by revalidating their PVCs and mobilising young adults of voting age to register as voters. He commended his co-aspirants for exhibiting the spirit of true sportsmanship and reiterated his earlier promise to carry them along going forward. He also appealed to party members to embrace the supporters of his co-aspirants in order to approach the election as a strong and formidable army. "More than anything, the beauty of the “thank You Visit” is the warm reception we got from all the places visited and the positive feedback. The visit also gave us access to quality advice that would guide us as we move forward. “Words are not enough to convey my debt of gratitude to the leaders and stakeholders of our great party at the ward, local government, state and National levels. We are convinced that with God on our side and the massive support of the people, victory is ours come June 18th” *Raheem Akingbolu* Media Assistant

PRESS STATEMENT Our attention has been drawn to a social media post shared on the 1st of March 2022 suggesting that some Nigerian Governors’ Wives were in Dubai to surprise the First Lady of Nigeria Dr. Aisha Buhari on the occasion of her birthday on the 17th of February 2022. For the avoidance of doubt and in the interest of the public, the Nigerian Governors Wives were on the entourage of the First Lady of Nigeria who was on an official trip to the UAE. The trip included visits to Dubai Expo 2020, and tours of the Dubai e-learning center, Dubai Youth Hub and meetings with foundations and agencies in UAE who are interested in investing in education, health and technology in Africa, with priority given to women and young people. The trip coincided with the birthday of HE Aisha Buhari. On the morning of her birthday, which was February 17th, the delegation of Governors’ Wives paid a private visit to present a cake and flowers. After the brief presentation, we proceeded to attend the scheduled meetings for the day. We were therefore dismayed to see footage of the visit interpreted to mean Governors’ Wives left Nigeria for the sole purpose of celebrating HE’s birthday. This is not true and we find this assumption scandalous. We are all dedicated to supporting our spouses as well as our First Lady, and we would never be a party to anything that will bring embarrassment to them and ourselves. Our key learnings from our visit to the various agencies in Dubai and the briefings we received points to the need for Nigeria to scale up investments in education, science and technology and provide more opportunities for young people, who are the key to the future. We will continue to address these issues in our own work as well as advocate for increased commitments in these areas from our leaders. HE Erelu Bisi Fayemi Chair, Nigeria Governors’ Wives Forum.

Oyebanji Calls for Integration of All APC Members ......Begins "thank you tour" The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the June 18 election, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has called on his supporters across the State to close ranks with supporters of other aspirants in the January 27 primary election and members of other parties willing to join APC ahead the election. Speaking during a 'thank you visit' to Ikole, Oye, Ilejemeje, Moba and Ido-Osi Local Governments areas on Monday, Oyebanji, who emphasised that campaign for the election had not started according to INEC guideline, said the visit was to appreciate all members of the party for their support during the just concluded primary election. "I am here today, first to fulfil the promise I made during the build up to the primary that I would come and show appreciation. Secondly, this visit is a follow up to the reconciliation parley we had with other aspirants who partook in the exercise. "Yes, we have reached out to my brothers and friends who contested the election with me and they have agreed to support us as loyal party members to win the election. But perhaps there are some of their followers who are yet to be pacified, we want to use this opportunity to appeal to their friends in our midst to talk to such people and incorporate them fully into the system. "I have said at different fora, that those who contested with me are loyal members of our party, who have only expressed their constitutional rights. We are all one and their followers are our party members as well. We must not discriminate as we need everybody to win on June 18," Speaking further, Oyebanji emphasised the need for members of the party to go back to the wards and work with the party leadership. Earlier, the leader of the team and Chairman, Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Chief Alaba Bejide, commended the party members for their support during the primary election and urged them to make sure they get their PVC before June 18 in order to be able to vote for Oyebanji. "The primary election was just a phase, the coming campaign is another phase, but the biggest assignment before us is the June 18 election. It is through the election we would be able to use our votes to elect Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as Governor of Ekiti State. "This can only be done if we have PVC which is our license to vote. Our findings have revealed that many of us are yet to get our PVC, especially those who were not up to age 18 during the 2018 election." Also speaking, a former Chairman of the Party in the state, High Chief Jide Awe, who corroborated Oyebanji's position urged those willing to work for Oyebanji's victory to go back to their wards and mobilise members to get PVC as well as participate in the electioneering. He said all hands must be on deck for the success of the party at the governorship poll. Raheem Akingbolu Media Assistant

WE NEED COMPREHENSIVE NATIONAL RESPONSE TO DEFEAT INSECURITY, SAYS FAYEMI AT GEN MURTALA MOHAMMED MEMORIAL LECTURE .TASKS GOVT, PRIVATE SECTOR ON JOB CREATION FOR YOUTHS Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has advocated "a comprehensive national response" to win the battle against insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and all forms of security challenges afflicting the polity. He also called for massive investment in public health, nutrition, education, promotion of partnerships for affordable housing, food security, potable water and creation of enabling environment to put opportunities for skills acquisition and gainful employment for the youth to reduce violent crimes in the Land. Dr. Fayemi, who is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF) spoke as the guest lecturer at the 2022 Murtala Muhammed Foundation Memorial Lecture held at the Shehu Musa Yar' Adua Centre in Abuja on Monday to mark the 46th anniversary of the assassination of former Head of State, Gen. Murtala Muhammed. Delivering a lecturer titled "Beyond Boko Haram: Addressing Insurgency, Banditry and Kidnapping Across Nigeria," Dr. Fayemi said concerted and collective efforts must be put into the fight against security challenges which has extended its tentacles to all nooks and crannies of the country. While sounding the battle cry against the the challenges at hand, the Ekiti governor regretted that "the boundaries of contemporary national insecurity have been further enlarged by the emergence and expansion of an industry in kidnapping that has overwhelmed an important swathe of northwestern Nigeria and graduated into the status of a national pandemic." Extolling the virtues of the late Gen. Muhammed, Dr. Fayemi noted that although the former Nigerian leader was in office for a very short time, he made a lasting impact and embodied the lesson which all public office holders must always be reminded of. He said: "For my generation of Nigerians, the late General Muhammad was not only a charismatic leader whose decisive, no-nonsense, business unusual style captured our youthful imagination, he has also over the years remained an uncommon example of public service through the uncompromising commitment he displayed to the pursuit of the common good. "As with most other Nigerians, the deep regret which we felt was that he did not rule long enough to personally complete the task of national rebirth which he and his colleagues had defined for themselves at the time he came to power. Still, he earned his place in our hearts and in the pantheon of our national heroes. "Murtala Muhammed successfully re-ignited hope in a post-civil war Nigeria that we can as a people aspire to new and greater heights to occupy our rightful place in dignity as a leader in the comity of nations. Such was the impact he had in so short a period of time that memory of his time with us remains so fresh and evergreen. May his soul continue to Rest In Peace, Amen." Dissecting the issue of the day, Dr. Fayemi noted that Nigeria had grappled with various forms of security problems and criminalities including armed robbery, militancy, vandalism of oil pipelines and hostage taking, ethno-religious killings but had recently exacerbated with insurgency, kidnapping and banditry. The Governor explained that the security challenges facing the country should not be seen as problems of particular geopolitical zones but as a national issue all Nigerians, including the leaders and the led must join hands together to tackle to restore confidence in the polity. Giving suggestions on how to the problems can be successfully tackled, Dr. Fayemi said issues underpinning the nation's security challenges must be addressed as well emphasizing on forging of a new compact between the state and the society whose centrepiece must be an inclusive and expansive project of human security in the Land. He identified sustained job creation as a panacea to youth involvement in criminal activities and susceptibility of being indoctrinated and conscripted into antisocial organisations to wreak havoc on their fatherland suggesting that government, private sector and non-governmental organisations must be involved in the task. Dr. Fayemi said: "If an all-encompassing social compact has become an urgent imperative in our quest to look beyond Boko Haram towards an all-round national rebirth, it must go without saying that we have to pay special attention to employment creation on a mass scale so that our bid for socio-economic progress can stand a chance of being achieved. "I am here particularly concerned as you about the role which employment can play in helping the burgeoning army of young Nigerians to build character, enhance personal dignity, eschew crime, lead innovation, and sustain hope for a better future whilst contributing productively to the development of the nation. "For the government, the private sector, and non-governmental associations, the shared responsibility to tame unemployment must be addressed as a prime order of business in the overall effort to rebuild a basis for citizenship through a revamped social compact. This is what I meant when, at a Mambayya House anniversary lecture in Kano in December 2021, I suggested that on a pan- Nigerian scale, we need a new Sawaba Declaration." He added: "Looking beyond Boko Haram, the clarion call to us as Nigerians is clear: In the face of a broken socio-economic fabric that has generated so much anguish, despair, and distrust among us, we must step back and summon that Nigerian genius that is innate in us in order to reimagine our country and reinvent our vision of oneness. "To do this, it is evident to me that the time has come, and it cannot be postponed, for a new compact to be forged between state and society whose centerpiece must be an inclusive and expansive project of human security in our land. "From massive investments in public health, nutrition, and education to the promotion of partnerships for affordable housing, household food security, and efficient means of mass mobility, the supply of potable water and electrical power in our cities, towns, and villages, and the creation of enabling conditions for any and every citizen to acquire the civics and skills necessary for navigating life in dignity, there has to be renewed drive to ensure that there is a concrete and meaningful bargain in being a Nigerian. "Clearly, the leadership in the most affected state in the North East, Borno - has been up to the task in terms of its response to forging a new compact between state and society. Yet, in spite of the best efforts of my brother, Governor Babagana Zulum and his government following in the footsteps of former Governor Kashim Shettima, it's clear that what is required is a comprehensive national response, not an isolated state strategy. "And I believe this must also include a whole of country sensitization programme that understands and subliminally internalizes the problem as one that will consume all if not addressed and not a challenge that is exclusively Borno or Kanuri-centric." he added. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=251849440472955&id=100069437032705

57th Birthday: CONGRATULATIONS TO A PACESETTING GOVERNOR I use this medium to congratulate the real and ideal friend of the masses and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi on his 57th birthday. At 57, you have proved without modicum of misgiving that you are one leader that is distinguishable in character, brilliance, and passion. You are a leader that has passion and pencaht for selfless services. A leader with Midas touch and vision to turn things around. A leader with thirst for excellence. A leader with burning zeal to bring the people together, thereby engendering participatory governance that had made Ekiti a pacesetter in the practice of democracy to drive development. The best indelible legacy a leader can leave behind has been to be builder of men. The late sage,Chief Obafemi Awolowo built so many generations ahead of him through quality education. Governor Kayode Fayemi had been deploying education, politics, and administration, to build people and make them relevant in the scheme of things. Most heartwarming was how he had been motivating young Ekitis through appointments, empowerments, and recognition in the running of government. Since 2010 when he forayed into Ekiti politics, he had raced the bar and up the ante. The culture of beggary and pedestrian politics under the facade of stomach Infrastructure had been tackled and banished. With your astute administrative acumen, you have injected participatory governance to the extent that every stratum of Ekiti now understands how governance is run and directed. Some of our farmers, traders, Okada riders etc are now critics and advisers of government because they understand the policy direction and politics surrounding them. Without mincing words, by your commitment and competence, he had shown that something good can still come out of our Jerusalem, because your coming was like a soothing balm owing to pervasive disillusionment and despondency that had taken over the land before you came like a Northern Star offering hope and salvaging the horrible situation. Governor Fayemi had etched his name in gold by scoring many firsts as an administrator from Ekiti extraction. He was the first former civilian governor of Ekiti to be appointed as Minister by any President since the advent of democracy in 1999. Under your Sterling leadership, Ekiti was the first State to sign Social Security Scheme policy into law, where elderstatesmen and women received N5,000 monthly stipend to palliate their sufferings and rescue them from untimely deaths, squalor and wanton poverty. It was under him and through the instrumentality of the first lady, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, that Ekiti got the first Food Bank, Village Kitchens and one computer -per- students and teachers, which has become a template being adopted by other states. My boss and friend , in case you are not aware of this, you are really a blessing to Ekiti and this generation. You are a team player and a goal-getter , every right thinking person would like to work with. I am proud and extremely excited to associate with you . I wish you a happy birthday and pray that your future shall be brighter and your days shall be long. Congratulations, the Peoples's Governor . UNTWISTING THE TWISTED CHRONICLES OF KAYODE FAYEMI By Gboyega Ajayi How we spend our days, is of course, how we spend our lives. - Annie Dillard. Our future is created from choices we make every minute. – Deepak Chopra. The above statements define the life of a diligent man, Mr, Adereni, the Nigerian Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo recently talked about. According to Osinbajo, Prince Bola Ajibola, a Judge of the World Court at The Hague in the Netherlands, one day called and asked if he could recommend a good Secretary who is hard working and could do long judgments. “I had three options, the chief typist, the senior or the junior typist, but the junior typist at the time had only school certificate, he didn’t have any other qualification but I chose him. He got to The Hague, and typically worked hard and diligently. Every Judge in the court wanted him to work with them. He later moved his family over to The Hague and got degrees and made a good living for himself. One day he remembered me and actually sent me a car,” the Vice President said. There are three protagonists in the above narrative: Mr. Adereni, Prince Bola Ajibola and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. While Adereni’s striking diligence prepared and marketed him for the fulfilment of his destiny and Osinbajo, who identified and appreciated Adereni’s talent, served as the bridge to his success, Ajibola served as the purveyor of Adereni’s path with destiny. These three are the protagonists in Adereni’s success story but, arguably, the hero is Adereni himself. This simple story encapsulated the elevation of Adereni through dint of hardwork. He didn’t rest on his oars after his impressive recommendation but rather, he continued to develop himself and even surpassed the expectations of his benefactors. He was exceptionally good; a flourished plant waiting to blossom. When you love your work, you will be exceptionally diligent in what you do and you will excel in delivering both quality and quantity. ― Dr. Prem Jagyasi. The quality and quantity of his outputs made him! The journey of life is interdependent. We all have one role or the other to play in the fulfilment or actualization of each other’s dream but none of us is supreme to the other. No one, no matter how magnanimous, can help you succeed if you are not ready or prepare for success. The number one key to your own success, therefore, is your own inner will. Before anything else, preparation is the key to success. – Alexander Graham Bell. The diligent Adereni in Osinbajo’s story was a junior typist. There are also Executives and Heads of multinationals who are diligence personified and urbane to the tilt. One of such is Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, the Governor of Ekiti State. Before his foray into partisan politics in 2005, JKF was the pioneer Executive Director of the Centre for Democracy & Development (CDD), a research and training institution dedicated to the study and promotion of democratic development, peace-building and human security in Africa. Prior to his establishment of the Centre, he had also worked as a Lecturer, Journalist, Researcher and Strategy Development Adviser in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He worked as a Reporter with some British Newspapers like the Guardian and City Tempo and the Editor of the political monthly, Nigeria Now, as well as a Management Consultant and Lecturer at the Police College in Sokoto, Nigeria. He also played key roles in sending the military out of the Nigerian political firmament and was responsible for the founding and management of the opposition radios – ‘Radio Freedom’, ‘Radio Democracy International’ and ‘Radio Kudirat’. The irrepressible politician also played a pivotal role in the opposition’s diplomatic engagements in exile. It is incredibly empowering to know that your future is in your hands. – Keanu Reeves. Fayemi is therefore not an accidental public servant and definitely not made by anybody. Providence and patriotism played major roles in shaping his life, and prepared him for whatever roles God has saddled him with, or will still saddle him with. Ekiti State has continuously been in the news since he was sworn-in on October 16, 2018, albeit for positive reasons. This is not happenstance, but rather a product of purposeful leadership and patriotic service to his people. The once strange routine of Governor Kayode Fayemi has now registered in my consciousness as his norm. It was strange seeing him working in his office from morning till the wee-hours before going to bed, only to be back at his desk again by 9am attending to State matters. Here is a Governor that will not allow a file stay on his table for more than twenty-four (24) hours, no matter the circumstance. It was indeed a very strange routine that JKF has already gotten accustomed to. This allows him to multi-task and function effectively without impediment. Does this man sleep at all? That was the rhetorical question I asked myself some years back when I failed to deliver on a task until the midnight of the deadline. I sent the 18-page document with an apology for not delivering it earlier. By 2.26am, the document was returned, approved for its purpose. To my utmost dismay, almost all the paragraphs were touched, thereby increasing the pages from 18 to 21. As if that was not enough, he was on phone with me by 9am, telling me what to do with the final document. I was baffled and rattled by this uncommon passion. That was my first vivid encounter with the inner workings of the Ekiti-born policy encyclopaedia and master strategist. Now that it has been a routine, my perception of him has been radically altered. It is amazing having such a striking personality within such a tender frame. John Kayode Fayemi epitomises the saying that successful people are not gifted, they just work hard, then succeed on purpose. You may not like him, you don’t have to, but you cannot objectively fault his restoration agenda in Ekiti State. He is making the best of the mandate freely given to him by his people and managing their commonwealth effectively with life touching, and life changing programs, policies and projects. Governance is an act, you either know it or you don’t. Luckily for us in Ekiti State, we have on the wheel one of the finest of men the nation has produced who is imbued with a thorough knowledge of global best practice and engagingly deploying it to reshaping the governance system in the state. Fayemi didn’t become this enigma by a sudden flight. There is a saying that what comes easy won’t last, what lasts won’t come easy. To assume his enigmatic status, therefore, Kayode Fayemi has toiled and paid his dues. All the hard work, all the sacrifices, all the sleepless nights, struggles, ups and downs, are his combined arsenals to political stardom. He is bringing his experience to bear in Ekiti State. Ekiti is currently on the move and things are getting better. Indeed, Fayemi n se Bebe l’Ekiti! In the words of JKF, ‘’the resources of Ekiti State, natural and human, are limited but our resourcefulness is unlimited’’. This is evinced by how he has been managing the available resources of Ekiti State. It’s what you do in the present that will redeem the past and thereby change the future. – Paulo Coelho. Despite the depleted revenue accruable to Ekiti State occasioned by the global economic meltdown, education, health, agriculture, water, electricity, roads and other infrastructural development have been getting appropriate attention of the government with feasible impacts to make life more comfortable for the generality of Ekiti people. Several legacy projects, inherited and new, have been completed with the assurance to complete the Ekiti State Passenger/Cargo Airport before October 2022. He has even defrayed some of the salary arrears inherited from the previous administration, despite the economic reality of the moment. He is doing this much with so little resources because he knows how best to manage and prioritise the little available resources, meeting the peoples’ needs and yearnings. Fayemi is not perfect and like all humans, he has his own frailties. However, it is unarguable that he possesses the right mind, the international exposure, the needed reach, the can-do spirit and above all, the flair needed in the modern day politics and governance. These are the uncommon attributes that have really helped him to excel not just as the Governor of Ekiti State but also as the Chairman of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum. Holding such a Forum together, in a multi-party system with all its interest, is not only a proof of his large-heartedness, but also a pointer to the obvious fact that he is a bridge builder. We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future. – Franklin D. Roosevelt. JKF is one of the youths of his era that was built by providence for the future, and the future is now. • Gboyega Ajayi writes from Ikoro Ekiti and can be reached through gboyeajayi@yahoo.com |

H.E. Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo: Felicitating a resourceful, inspirational, enigmatic leader at 64 February 4, 2022 Editor Written by Eleazar Olumuyiwa Ogunmilade I join myriad of your supporters and admirers as you celebrate your 64th birthday today. This is not just a celebration of years and times of your life, but that of recognition of success and greatness in your public life as well as celebration and joy for your unsurpassable achievements in public life. Looking back at your life as a son of a disciplined officer, the former Govenor of the old Western Region, the late Major General Adeyinka Adebayo; a former governor and now a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, everyone will agree that you were born great and living great. And you are doing a good job by all estimation in your present portfolio. Your modest and spartan lifestyle, clear – cut political ideology, unshaken belief in progressive politics and love for mentorship, had been recognised and adored by all across Nigeria. You are one leader with thirst and verve for quality, zeal for knowledge and knack for progress and development. You have the Midas Touch. Whatever you touch becomes a success. Your singular support and believe in our inspirational leader and Governor, Dr.John Kayode Fayemi, is a well amplified testimony that you love to fraternise with the best brains. Through thick and thin, rain and sunshine , smooth and bumps, you and Governor Fayemi have partnered to rescue Ekiti from politics of tokenism and the beggarly policy of stomach infrastructure It cannot be gainsaid that you and Governor Fayemi have done great exploits in Ekiti and history will be kind to your as one of the two great men, who made huge sacrifices for Ekiti to survive and thrive. Ekiti will remember with nostalgia, how you inconvenienced yourself as the pioneer executive Governor in 1999, using unbefitting office, living in substandard government house to lay a solid foundation for our dear state. Throughout that time, there was no single mention of any lamentation coming from you. Records showed that you were one of the least catered for governors of that era. You never minded; your focus was Ekiti people and what you set your eyes on was, delivering the dividends of democracy to the masses. Let me remind you sir, your best legacy in Ekiti State is that you joined progressive-minded people to ensure that Governor Fayemi emerged the candidate of Action Congress in 2007. Interestingly, you repeated the same feat in 2018; we are all savouring the gains and the strides are resonating everywhere. I say without equivocation that you are one leader with penchant for excellence. I pray that the good Lord will sustain you for your family, admirers in Ekiti, and give you the strength to be able to contribute more to the upliftment of our dear country, Nigeria. Congrats, our quintessential Leader. Olumuyiwa Ogunmilade, Executive Chairman, Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service. https://newsafresh.com/h-e-otunba-adeniyi-adebayo-felicitating-a-resourceful-inspirational-enigmatic-leader-at-64/ |
*2023 Presidential Race: Run, Fayemi run* _-By Obafemi Oluwadare PhD_ Brian Tracy, the famous motivational speaker, said the true test of leadership is how well one functions in a crisis. Throughout history, crises have been the breeding ground for individuals we later describe as great leaders, and in many instances when time makes the leader, such a leader would emerge from unlikely places. While we celebrate individuals such as Lincoln, Churchill, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama, to mention just a few, we should also not forget that great leaders can equally appear on smaller stages. Politics, like science, depends on our ability to persuade each other of common aims based on a common reality. In today’s Nigeria, resilience is the leadership virtue we require. We must look for someone resilient enough to lead us without giving excuses; someone with a compulsive tendency to see both sides of any issue without demonizing opponents. The three traits that should characterise the mind of our next president are: Challenge, Personal control and Commitment. The talk of who should succeed President Muhammadu Buhari come 2023 is now renting the air. I posit that the talk should not leave out the present Governor of Ekiti who doubles as the Chairman of Nigeria Governor’s Forum, Dr John Kayode Fayemi. He will be winding down his second term in office gallantly and graciously later this year. As a bridge-builder par excellence, he should neither dither nor detour from throwing himself into the ring to give his best claim to the exalted position. An understanding of how Dr. Fayemi has been outstandingly trudging on, with the responsibilities of Ekiti on his head amidst the Covid-19 pandemic ravaging the whole world and with very limited resources to throw at it, will surely make one understand where he is coming from and what type of leadership he is capable of providing in this new era. Today, the competencies required are different from standard operating leadership protocols. We have entered the age of empowered individuals. That is, leaders who can affect the system positively, rather than the system affecting them negatively; leaders who can use potent new technologies and harness social media to organize themselves and focus interest on their agendas and activities. It is simply about managing crises and navigating through feelings of anxiety, hopelessness, and doom. The office of a president has grown beyond what it used to be, in power, scope, complexity and degree of difficulty. Now, more than ever, it requires someone who is futuristic and highly dynamic. The emotional burden of the responsibilities is even something else. The president must be ready to operate like a computer, which is the only way he can endure the relentless scrutiny of the digital age. We need a cross-generational person like Fayemi as our next president in 2023. Someone who appeals to the old and young, male and female, who cuts across ethnicity and religious boundaries, who holds liberal views as against the orthodox ones. Liberalism in this sense pertains to those arts and sciences, the study of which is considered worthy of a free man as opposed to servile and mechanical. The opposite is orthodoxy, which conforms to the established, accepted or traditional doctrines of a given ideology, faith or religion. Fayemi should run, not to bolster his ego, He should run, not because he simply wants to be addressed as Mr. President. He should run, not to light his pockets. Rather, he should run for his age, he should run for his democratic credence and he should run for the good of Nigeria. The prayer of millions of Nigerians is that Nigeria’s next president should either be a Dr. John Kayode Fayemi or someone of his stature. Yes, Nigerians are yearning for a not-too-young person like Fayemi, vibrant enough to steer the country out of its current quagmire. The presidential villa is not an old persons’ home, a sick bay or or a place for persons with critical health challenges. The demands of the office are too serious for a sick person. Anyone who wants to be president must first take care of his health challenges. Nigerians are entitled to an objective assessment and knowledge of the state of the health of anyone aspiring to that office. The pattern as we approach 2023, must not be such that the president feels a sense of entitlement from the country and from the people for favour, real or imagined, that he may have done in the past. Rather, such a person must have a sense of indebtedness towards the country and the people. He must see himself as coming to serve and pay his dues; somebody thrown up by circumstances. Fayemi has a clairvoyant brain. He has the faculty capable of perceiving things or events in future or beyond sensory contact. Nigeria towards 2023 is looking beyond a president whose only claim to power is being a political heavyweight. Unlike in the past, oration or political sagacity would not just be good enough. Even the foisted role of Commander in Chief is becoming weightier than ever before. Natural security is today being threatened by stateless terror groups. Rare is the day when in Nigeria, one or more of those enemies don’t present an imminent danger, requiring the president’s utmost attention. There are two ways to get ahead. You can dominate people by making them fear you or you can win their loyalty with your intelligence and kindness. A dominant leader tends to adopt a stereotypical power pose, intimidating people into following him. A non-dominant leader does not look down with a scowl. Rather, he would look up with a smile of humility. The non-dominant leader doesn’t flaunt what he knows. He appears to take up less space, yet he is capable of attracting people to his care and competence rather than dominating them. He gains followers through prestige, which he has developed by demonstrating his expertise and helping people to solve knotty problems. The latter is the Fayemi we are talking about. So, as we scout for a president towards post-pandemic 2023, We must think of what the new normal holds in stock for us. We don’t want those who flaunt the credentials of having risen through dominating others, who physically take up a lot of space and often brag about who they have helped. We must consider those who rely on the prestige of what they are capable of doing and they can easily be spotted by their less expansive yet resilient posture. Fayemi is a bold risk taker and this is a strong quality of a resilient individual. It is easy for most individuals to be stuck in a rut in which they continue to conduct work in the same way from year to year. That approach works well until the world changes, requiring them to change or die. We will not find Fayemi among this lot. Fayemi loves to develop others. Like most resilient leaders, he is not only interested in his own development but is concerned about the development of others. His type of resilience is needed when we encounter failure. Developing others the way Fayemi does, helps everyone to learn from their mistakes. We continue to find that leaders who want feedback for themselves are more likely to give productive feedback and coaching to others, because they want honest feedback as well. That is Fayemi for you. Fayemi is a champion of change. Change takes courage and requires a vision about where the people are going. A resilient leader like Fayemi is willing to change and able to provide the leadership to ensure that the followers also change. Fayemi is a decisive leader. He is swift and resolute. Making decisions is always difficult because no person has all the data or understands all eventualities. But the people cannot move forward until a decision gets made. The most resilient leaders are effective at making decisions and moving forward. If they make the wrong decision, they are quick to make a different decision and move in another direction. The proverb by Cato “swift and resolute action leads to success; self-doubt is a prelude to disaster” fits well here. And Fayemi fits perfectly in. Regarding Fayemi, the most objective verdict any reasonable observer can give is that while he still has plenty to do, he is gone so far doing superbly well in meeting those parameters that Nigerians can set for their next president. He is not a reckless leader. He is extremely precautious. He sees failures as temporary setbacks people can recover from quickly. He maintains a positive attitude and a strong sense of opportunity during periods of turbulence. When faced with ambiguity, Fayemi as a resilient leader finds ways to move forward and avoids getting stuck. Dr. Fayemi communicates powerfully and transparently. He is ever willing to help others understand a new strategy or direction. His effective communication in the past has helped others to understand changes, expectations and new directions. Dr. Fayemi has proven to be both humble and coachable by persons and circumstances. He has a strong desire to continuously improve his skills and abilities. By building trust and being open to differences, Fayemi has been able to create strong ties. Ask those who know him well, and they will tell you that he is not doing badly in this area. Lastly but not the least, Fayemi is a champion of change. The kind of change Nigerians need going forward. Changes in a micro and macro sense have created an impetus towards a new human age by moving countries away from known social and economic structures. In other words, it will not be business as usual with Fayemi as Nigeria’s next President. _-Oluwadare writes as a Public-Affairs analyst._ |

Ekiti APC primary: Civil rights says Direct Primary best for Nigeria, commends aspirants for non violence For Immediate Release SATURDAY JANUARY 29, 2022 The Ekiti State All Progressives Congress, (APC) primary has proved that Direct Primary remains the best option for party internal democracy in Nigeria, the Nigerian Human Rights Community, (NHRC) has said. The group which monitored the APC Ekiti Primary while there could be different options like indirect and consensus candidate, indirect primary offers the greatest opportunity for political inclusion. The coalition of several civil society groups established in close to two decades ago which monitored the APC primary held on Thursday January 27 said the APC Ekiti Primary Election was not without challenges but that the poll proved that direct participation of members of political parties in chosing the party's aspirants remains the best option for Nigeria. In its preliminary reports, the NHRC said the primary was not without minor hitches but that it represented the wish and aspirations of majority if members of APC in Ekiti State. The group advised Nigerians to disregards reports being released by people who did not witness or monitor the primary, those guided by stereotyping, wild assumptions and aspirants who saw the primary as a 'must win' venture. The NHRC, a coalition of several civil society groups spread across Nigeria was the only civil society group that monitored the APC primary election in Ekiti State. The coalition said it had earlier written to the major stakeholders of the party indicating its intention to monitor the primary election adding that the NHRC is in possession of audio and visual evidence in several polling units, wards and communities in order to produce authenticate and verifiable account of the primary. The coalition said the outcome of the primary was seen celebrated across the State in rural and urban communities by the young, the old, men and women alike indicating an expression of a popular choice. We saw people's enthusiasm, confidence and trust in democracy. Even in the face of prevailing challenges, people feel honoured and excited that they were involved in chosing who would represent their political party at the poll. This feeling of excitement strengthens the prospect of greater inclusion and public participation in party internal democracy. NHRC said it will be unfair to undermine this unique signpost associated with the Direct Primary in Ekiti State. The NHRC said in a statement signed by its officials, Fred Ojinika and Odebunmi Ajayi that the best way to prevent rigging was to use Direct Primary since Nigerian politicians protesting the outcome of every election has become a ritual and a ritual. The group which had deployed 350 monitors spread across the 177 wards and thousands of polling units said its observations and recommendations will be forwarded to the National Assembly and all the registered political parties in the country. The group in its preliminary reports said Direct Primary has many advantages over other methods that have been proposed adding that this has been proved again by the results of the Ekiti Primary. "There is no perfect system anywhere. The Ekiti Primary demonstrated inclusion and expresses the potential and powers possessed by the electorates and their ability to make tremendous input into the process that produced the aspirant of the party they belong. On security, the group said generally the election was peaceful and well coordinated without any loss of lives, inflicting of injury on any voter or the employment of any armed group by all the stakeholders. The NHRC said many voters interviewed were of the opinion that knowing the tempestuous nature of the terrain and the fiercely democratic credentials of Ekiti people, found in their long lasting history, if the outcome of the primary had been against public expectation, there would have been massive protests in some parts or across the entire State. It commended all the aspirants for a show of concern for peaceful public participation in the process of chosing the representative of the party at the June gubernatorial election. NHRC said it regretted that it could not monitor the primary of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) due to the indirect nature of the primary which was conducted in a close circuit. The NHRC said the APC primary process was without intimidation, harassment or visible threats to the voters or the aspirants. "The returning officers were punctual in all the polling units, accreditation was conducted largely without violence, party membership or voters cards were used by the party members and there were no visible indication that voters were prompted by financial gains. The coalition said the emergence of Oyebanji of APC and Kolawole Olabisi of the PDP was an indication that Ekiti people are not divided along primordial lines since the two candidates until 1996 are from the same local government and are from neighboring towns. The NHRC however said there were reports that all the aspirants gave money to each wards said to be for mobilisation of voters before the election. The group said on the day of the election, there were attempts by unidentified sources trying to use the social media to spread misinformation during the voting process adding that the impact of the negative news and false claims of postponement did not influence the attitude of voters and the outcome of the primary. The NHRC said the reports of some of the candidates' withdrawal from the race whike voting was on-going were unnfortunate adding that the attitude was like a football team withdrawing at half time only to blame the linesmen, the referee and other officiating officers for the outcome of the game. "It is our considered opinion that the candidates should have raised objections earlier but not when the voting was already at its peak. "It would have been worst if the primary had been by consensus or through indirect primary. Given the controversy associated with the build up to the primary election, direct primary appears to be the only means that could assuage what appeared to be preconceived prejudices within the political space. On grey areas, NHRC said there was no voting in Ward B in Iyin Ekiti. It said in some wards, coordinators of some of the aspirants decamped from their principal to join Mr Abiodun Oyebanji on the day of voting while in many Wards, some aspirants had no representatives to carry their banner for voters to identify with them. The group also said some of the aspirants had not manifesto but relied on massive posters without critical reflection on their economic and social programmes that could make a impact the lives of the people. NHRC also said the process remains devoid of youth participation adding that almost all the aspirants are above 50 indicating minima youth participation in the process. It also raised the issue of gender adding that there was zero women participation in the entire process which is not good for Democratic development. It urged youths and women to change the narratives by developing the zeal to participate fully in future elections. It also added that in some polling booths, the line up was too long indicating that Ekiti State needs more polling units, a situation that should be addressed by INEC. The NHRC said it will produce a comprehensive report to be distribute to political parties and the Independent Electoral Commission, (INEC) with the hope that the recommendations will be useful in Nigeria's search for sustainable development. Dear friends, This morning, I woke up to see posters online for Erelu Bisi Fayemi, Senate Ekiti North. This information has been circulating for some time now so it is nothing new. Today's poster was however released the morning after Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) emerged as Gubernatorial Candidate for the next Governorship election in Ekiti State. Those behind this mischief have been floating the narrative that the Senatorial seat is going to be my reward for supporting Mr Oyebanji's aspiration. My position is as follows:https://www.facebook.com/100050551236627/posts/493575239004180/

BAMIDELE, ADEYEYE, FAPARUSI BAD LOSERS- SAYS UNIVERSITY DON …..Says last minute withdrawal poor strategy A University Don, Prof Adeolu Adeyemi has faulted the decision of six of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to pull out of the party’s primary election held across the 177 wards in Ekiti State on Thursday. Prince Dayo Adeyeye, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Hon Bamidele Faparusi, Hon Femi Bamisile, Mr Kayode Ojo, and Afolabi Oluwasola, had on Thursday morning withdrew from the contest during a protest march at the party secretariat in Ado-Ekiti. The primary election however took place in all the 177 wards, despite their withdrawal, leaving the former Secretary to the State Government, Mr Biodun Oyebanji who emerged winner with very wide margin. Prof Adeyemi who teaches Political Science at the Lagos State University, Ojo said the decision of the six aspirants to withdraw from the race at the last minute was a poorly conceived one, adding that their withdrawal would not deter from the credibility of the contest. “Withdrawing from a contest of this nature is a poorly conceived strategy, especially when the stage was already set and all machinery for the election have been put in place. I expect these crop of experienced politicians and public office holders to show better judgement. “It is legally explicit that you cannot challenge a process you never participated in. They have simply shot themselves in the foot by withdrawing at the last minute. The withdrawal from the race has made it difficult for them to challenge the process in the court. “One is tempted to believe that they were never prepared for the seriousness the contest required, hence their decision to chicken out at the last moment. Public office holders should be better guided in preparation for big league contest of this nature to avoid embarrassing themselves and followers.”, he said. Meanwhile, Oyebanji in his acceptance speech, shortly after his declaration as winner, promised to reach out to the aggrieved aspirants with a view to working out an amicable settlement. |

*MORE LEADERS, YOUTH GROUPS ENDORSE OYEBANJI* More leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and youth groups within the party have endorsed Hon Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) as the best candidate in today’s primary election of the party. They believe he has the competence, character , exposure, discipline and street credibility required to win the June 18, 2023 election in the state. Pa Aderibigbe Moses in Eda Oniyo says Oyebanji is an Omoluabi Ekiti who can be trusted with the commonwealth of the people and a well groomed politician who can continue with the good work of the JKF administration. The Ekiti Youth Agenda for Development led by Ade Ayeni described Oyebanji as a youth-friendly aspirant who has inspired a lot of Ekiti youth to stand on their feet, adding that he will run a youth-friendly government if elected t as governor. Miss Grace Adegboye, a alumnus of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti said all the old students of the state owned university are with Oyebanji as they look forward to producing an alumnus as governor of the state in the university’s 40 years of existence. “Having one of us- a former student and later a lecturer become the governor of the state after forty years of the establishment of EKSU would be a big icing on the 40th birthday cake of the institution. All of us are solidly behind Oyebanji, an exemplary alumnus”, she said.

RE: Undue Power of Madam First Lady And Thuggery of The Governor's CSO By Mary Oso - Omotosho I read in amusement the ridiculous and manipulative piece put together by an empty headed faceless loser alleging the Ekiti State First Lady and Mr Governor’s CSO of connivance ahead of the APC Governorship primaries . On a good day , this baseless and fact less piece should not have attracted a response since the author remains hidden like a sick mouse dumped in a tiny hole but for the sake of right thinking audiences who have been following the trends of happenings in Ekiti politics. It is no longer news that gubernatorial election in Ekiti State is around the corner. Expectedly, pretenders, political mercantile and horse traders, political detractors as well as those who do not have even a better idea of what makes a good leadership are on the prowl. The worst among this set of political brigandry are the people who, as a result of free/cheap data, in their barricaded cocoons, seize the opportunity of social media to type rubbish all for clout chasing. One of such is this online piece accusing Her Excellency Erelu Bisi Fayemi and the CSO of abuse of power and thuggery . How low can this blackmailer go? The writer took his/her time to dish out unfounded accusations, rumors as well as conjured blatant lies in his wild imagination to mislead his readers and political co-travellers. Well, let it be on the record that the fact that Erelu Bisi Fayemi enjoys the support of teeming Ekiti people most especially party faithfuls today is as a result of her unconventional and developmental approach to leadership and governance in the state. Yes, as the writer observed, Erelu has been at the fore front of making sure that Ekiti gets the best by throwing her full support to the administration of her husband. She is down-to-earth, humility personified and staunch promoter of APC . However, the warped minded writer was wrong by stating that Erelu Chaired the Ekiti Transition Committee in 2018 . She only Chaired the Inauguration Committee of which many applauded her for an outstanding job. The documents are there for anyone to verify . Only ingrates or political never-do-well like the writer and his accomplices will want to denigrate the position of Erelu or the roles she plays in the stability of Ekiti APC today. I know why this is coming . They are gutted by the fact that everyone choruses the good deeds of Erelu Fayemi around town . The writer claimed she is spending the state government resources to help the citizens . Laughable ! She could as well decide not to spend and heaven will not fall but she is spending it and touching lives . In case the writer fails to realise, it is only those playing the ostrich that will think that any incumbent will not be interested in who succeeds him. Irrespective of how the incumbent plays the aloof and uninterested game, his eyes are fixated on the process that will bring his successor. So, I see no reason anyone will want to fault the interest of Mr Governor or that of his wife in who becomes the next governor of Ekiti State. It is also ludicrous for the kindergarten writer to have alleged that Erelu is non native to Ekiti. Of course, it is obvious that for politics of calumny to sell well, you have to devise all sorts of name calling to gain the love of a gullible audience. A woman married to an Ekiti man with children for over 32 years is not ripe to be called Ekiti ? Let me state clearly , the level of positive impacts Erelu has made on Ekiti women and children can never pave the way for anyone to play the indigeneship card against her in Ekiti . The earlier some people realize this the better . How possible could it be for someone of this repute and high calibre to stoop so low in engaging in hoodlumism or thuggery as alleged by the hungry writer? It is advisable the writer reveals his /her identity next time so I can loudly chorus how nonentity he /she is . As for the perceived endorsement of BAO , only political jobbers, anti progressive minds, and people without conscience nor a defined agenda for the development of Ekiti like this writer and his accomplices will fault the candidacy of BAO. The writer should also be put on notice that the Ekiti people he thinks can be deceived with these ridiculous claims and positions have grown beyond these. The people are not pushed by emotions anymore; the realities of our political climes have made them more logical than ever. The name on every well-meaning Ekiti electorates today is BAO, and no amount of mudslinging writeups cum jejune journalism will change the wish of Ekiti kete. |
OYEBANJI THANKS APC LEADERS, MEMBERS AS HE CONCLUDES LGA TOUR …Sues for peace ahead of party primaries A leading Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and former Secretary to State Government, Hon. Biodun Oyebanji, has, again, showered encomiums on leaders and members of the party in the state for their steadfastness and the warm reception accorded him and his team during his recently concluded tour of local governments in the state. The tour, which took place between January 4 and 13th, was Oyebanji’s second round visit to the local government chapters of the party, where he had one-on-one meetings with APC leaders, members and stakeholders in the 177 wards. Speaking in Ado Ekiti at the weekend, Oyebanji said he was excited and satisfied with the great reception accorded him, the open and frank discussions he had with the leaders and stakeholders as well as the demonstrated commitment of APC members to the success of the party’s primaries and eventual victory at the June 18 governorship election in the state. He also urged co-aspirants on APC platform to continue to preach peace and harmony among members of the party and their supporters ahead of the January 27 primaries, adding that violence, name calling and slander should be avoided in favour of issue-based campaigns. "It was the second round of our tour across the 16 local governments to meet the party executives, delegates, some selected leaders and stakeholders of our great party, and I must admit that it was a huge success, considering the warm reception, opportunity to lay before them my plan for the state and the positive feedback we got about the Dr Kayode Fayemi administration as well as my aspiration. "At various local governments I was able to tell our leaders why I obtained the form to vie for governorship based on the criteria given by Mr. Governor and the need to continue with the legacy already established by the current administration. I used the opportunity to further present myself to them and assure them that my coming in as governor would enhance prosperity for the state, party members and individuals. "Of course, I sued for peace and reiterated on the need for our people to respect the right of individuals to aspire. I made it known to our leaders that they can only get the best after respecting other people's right to contest and listening to their programmes and projections to further lift the state. "More than anything, the beauty of the visit is in the warm reception we got from all the places visited. We also got positive feedback on the current administration, my person and my character. The meetings also gave us access to quality advice that would guide us as we move forward. “Honestly, words are not sufficient to convey the level of my appreciation to the leadership of the party at the ward, local government, state and National levels for giving us a solidly built party and a viable platform to contribute our little quota to development", he added. In Nigeria, government officials are typically regarded with suspicion, disdain and mistrust by their constituents. This skepticism is not entirely unfounded as years of bad governance and countless unfulfilled promises have largely contributed to this popular perception. Nevertheless, every now and then, a few outliers show up, resolutely displaying solid commitment towards employing the influence and authority of their offices in driving lasting impact and advancing the cause of the populace – both in words and in deeds. These government officials not only perform their duties to the letter but also carry it out with a heart of service and altruism towards the people they serve. Tolu Ibitola is one of such outliers. Renowned for his conspicuous wit and heartwarming benevolence, Tolu, who currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Ekiti Government, is driven by his effervescent passion for humanity and keen desire to leave an indelible impact wherever he finds himself. These qualities set him apart from the crowd. With a career as a public administrator spanning over a decade, Tolu has consistently brought his unique combination of skill sets, pizzaz and dynamism to different projects and development schemes initiated through his modus of influence and designed to drive sustainable impact. He perhaps gets his zest and dynamism from the vibrant city of Lagos were he was born. High-powered government officials are usually very well-read and versed in matters relating to the state and Tolu is no exception. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti, an MSc in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs from the famous Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland and a Degree point program in Advanced Negotiation from Harvard Law School, Boston. As a new entrant into the public administration sphere, Tolu first began to spin the public service wheel when he served as personal assistant to Aberdeen Councilor Willie Young during his studies abroad. One interesting thing about Tolu Ibitola is how he passionately undertakes public affairs initiatives wherever he finds himself. Even as a student overseas, he established himself as a burgeoning Public Administrator by serving as the pioneer of the Nigerian Register in Scotland. His official foray into public administration commenced in 2010 when he worked as the aide and personal assistant to Dr. Kayode Fayemi during his time as the Ekiti Governor and Minister of Solid Minerals Development. Following his exceptional service, Tolu was appointed as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Ekiti Government on October 22, 2019. For Tolu, charity indeed begins at home. He is considered an illustrious “son-of-the-soil” of Usi-Ekiti, Ekiti, where he hails from and where he is beloved for his political acumen and philanthropic activities. He currently spearheads various developmental projects and sustainable impact initiatives across the regions of Ekiti. With over a decade worth of experience as a public administrator, He has won several awards in recognition of his service and dedication to community development and improving the socio-economic climate of Usi-Ekiti and Ekiti as a whole. He holds his family dear and is happily married to Bolanle Ibitola, a Human Resource professional. Their marriage is blessed with two children. Tolu is undoubtedly part of a new breed of public administrators driving sustainable impact within their sphere of influence. We celebrate him for his commitment, contributions and efforts towards putting Ekiti on the map. https://ynaija.com/meet-tolu-ibitola-the-public-administrator-driving-sustainable-impact-in-ekiti/

*STICK TO ISSUE –BASED CAMPAIGN, OYEBANJI URGES SUPPORTERS* Ahead of the January 27 primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a leading Governorship Aspirant of the party and former Secretary to the State Government, Hon Biodun Oyebanji, has urged his supporters to continue marketing his programmes to the people of the state and avoid joining issues with opposing camps. Oyebanji who restated his commitment to running an issue-based campaign, urged his supporters to focus more on key areas of development, competence, character, capacity and track record, among others in making the campaign issue-based. He urged them to avoid needless arguments, insults and name calling, all of which are inimical to peace and goodwill in the party. “The next two weeks are crucial for our campaign. Let us focus on pushing a message of hope, peace, progress and development for all sons and daughters of Ekiti. I deeply appreciate your tireless support. *Re: ALLEGED ASSAULT ON MOTORIST* The attention of the Government of Ekiti State has been drawn to a statement and footage in circulation on social media alleging that security operatives attached to the convoy of the Governor assaulted a motorist, identified as Dayo Oshituyi in Akure, Ondo State, a few days ago. We empathise with the victim and affirm our belief that no citizen should suffer any form of brutality in contravention of extant laws. While the allegation is currently being investigated by the State Government and relevant security agencies, it is however important to state clearly that the Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi is not aware of the incident and cannot be party to any form of assault on a citizen. This is contrary to the allegation that the Governor witnessed the alleged brutalisation of Mr Oshituyi. We kindly implore Mr Oshituyi to contact the Governor’s Office, Oke Bareke, Ado-Ekiti with useful information to help the investigations. We assure members of the public that the Government of Ekiti State, in line with its principle of justice and fairness, will be fair in handling the matter. *Yinka Oyebode* Chief Press Secretary to the Governor 26- 12- 2021 https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=215958860728680&id=100069437032705 |

So after Church service, I was walking down the street of Fajuyi in Ado-Ekiti, A young man walked up to me and introduced himself as a reporter for Ayooba FM. What can I do for you I queried, he said he is a Kopa and presenter of the Entertainment on the street program on AyoobaFM. He further his saying, that he will like me to sing the latest Song in town, me feeling like a Chairman, I just replied him Zaazu Zeh!, the young man laughed and said No, that it's a festive period, that he will like me to sing a Song while he hum it. Guess what? the guy was humming Feliz Navidad ni sha and he asked me to sing the songs with wording while he record my voice on his phone and it will be played on air in their station.
