TIME TO SCRAP NYSC THAT HAS BECOME A FRAUD AGENCY

When we finished from the university years ago, all that was needed to proceed for the compulsory NYSC program was just a call up letter from our school. Once we got that, we hit the road the next day, bidding our school girlfriends 'Bye' after a night of atmosphere of bliss, and dream of having another right from the camp till posting. If the school girlfriends were many, we have to share the energy among them (Oops, was I spoilt). This was many years ago, when the North, especially Borno State was still peaceful. Then NYSC for me and many others meant NOW YOUR SEX CONTINUES.or NATIONAL YOUTH FOR SEX & COFFEE

Alas, the story has changed this year. While we are still screaming that the N19,800 paid to these youngsters are not enough, coupled with some of them losing their lives in the process, the new DG instead of improving their welfare has decided to milk them of their resources.

What manner of agency is NYSC that prospective corpers now have to pay N4,000 before they can print their mobilization letter from October? Is NYSC now broke that they have to charge students a dime to get call up letter? It is already crystal clear that the scheme has long outlived its usefulness and since they have degenerated into a fraud agency, I hereby move that it should be scraped or in the alternative, such action of extorting students should be stopped immediately while the DG should be removed.

This is what the student union called NANS should fight for, not going to Abuja to give Mama Peace award or singlehandedly endorsing Jonathan for 2015. This N4,000 has to stop.

You all know that you would be spending the next one year serving the country. Irrespective of your primary assignments. What else would you be doing or plan to do during that period to upgrade yourself? I.e skills or professional qualifications.

First my PPA and state of service determines a lot, if I find myself in Ogun tertiary institutions (any) good for. Me, it will boost my c. V and and find a way of doing any professional course building myself politically in preparation for next election I.e the conduct, my participation, my observations and my conclusion. Also don't forget am the spokesman for Nans Zone-d coordinator. So many things on my cute Mind But God implements while man JUST plan. But His plans for me are far more better I believe.

The Federal Government initially postponed the resumption date of primary and secondary schools to October 13 due to the Ebola virus disease.

However, the date has been shifted forward to September 22 following a review ordered by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

The FEC, recently ordered the Minister of Education, Mr. Ibrahim Shekarau, to review the directive given to schools over their resumption, following the outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease in Nigeria.




With this development there is every possibility that we are camped come November 5,i will resume as an Otondoh in Sagamu camp.

I just heard from a very reliable source that anyone who does not pay the stipulated amount shall not receive their call up numbers. They will only know from their respective schools if they have been mobilised or not. Also, runs fit no work cos dem say na computer go do d postings o. The person said the computer has been programmed to do this; match ur details(xcluding ur date of birth) wit d ones CPIs will b sending to NYSC, will automatically remove ur name from the following: the states you've been to before(states you've visited, state u schooled, ur state of origin, residential state). It will den randomly place you to one of those states you are not associated with in the past. You need a big oga at the top this time...
