JUHABACH:
from what i hear, the court is determined to deliver a substantive judgement by next week. even if the appeal takes too long and judgement is delivered after election, should jimoh ibrahim win, you do realize that the court can substitute him for the person determined to be the substantive candidate of the party (there is judicial precedenr for this). basically it is in the interest of both parties to get judgement as soon as possible.
The truth is Jimoh cannot win his LG not to talk of Ondo State.
Car TalkMy 1999 Nissan Primera Don't Start Easily In The Morning by solace2013(op): 11:45pm On Nov 10, 2016
I have been using my Nissan Primera for two years. It's my favourite among the 3 cars in our house at the moment. Highly fuel efficient, manual gear, easy to manipulate, rugged, easy to maintain by my Kazeems.
But since 31st of October, I have discovered that the car don't start at once in the morning. I have interchanged the newer battery in my Camry into it, my Kazeem have changed fuel pump, the kick starter have been checked, I have changed plugs all to no avail. It doesn't start without much efforts or even pushing sometimes. But after packing it in my office for hours, it'll start so easily at once in the afternoons and evenings. I haven't experienced this before, kindly assist me.

The position of the LAW as at today: Jegede's Application for Leave
to appeal Justice Abang was Granted, but Leave to appeal doesn't mean Jimoh Ibrahim's name has been
removed from INEC list. It simply means that Jegede has the right to appeal Abang's judgement, Now
this is the procedure as provided by Civil procedure rules of Nigerian Courts.: Jegede will file appeal
after that he will transmit record, he will follow it with filing of his brief of argument while Biyi Poroye will
file a Respondent brief to be followed by reply brief by Jegede. After all these, the appeal would be
entered for hearing. All these cannot take less than 90 days. Meanwhile Poroye has filed an appeal
against the Judgement of today which will still drag and drag. Either PDP supporters likes it or not,
Jegede cannot be part of an election that will hold in 16 days time. I personally advise PDP supporters
who are more educated and sensible should try and educate the public and not misleading them. Jimoh
(ARABA) Ibrahim remains the authentic Candidate for PDP in the Coming Election, Jegede is OUT for
now till all the pending applications are settled legally in the court of law and not on the streets of
Akure jubiliating what they don't know. They should be crying by now for not appealing Justice Abang
judgement of June,2016 or better still, Let Iroko and his protegee look for Plan B..

Nobody will do that at the moment, the present governor doesn't deserve it, an average Ondo State person sees Dr Mimiko as PDP, Mimiko has done so deceitfully with the people and shortchanged them. Jimoh Ibrahim cannot emerge as governor, most people know it's either Olusola Oke of AD or Rotimi Akeredolu of APC that will emerge as governor. Check comments from Akure and several parts of Ondo State, people are rejoicing and bidding Dr Mimiko good riddance.

PoliticsOndo Governorship 2016: Court Refuses Application By Makarfi Faction by solace2013(op):
An Abuja division of the Federal High Court has refused an application brought by the governorship
candidate of the Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, seeking
permission to appeal the court’s earlier decision.
The candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, had approached the court, presided over by Okon Abang, for permission
to appeal its October 14 judgement.
Mr. Abang had in that judgement declared the governorship candidate from the rival faction led by
former Borno State governor, Ali-Modu Sheriff, as the authentic PDP candidate for the November, 26
election in the state.
The decision followed his June 29 judgement in which the court declared the faction led by Mr. Sheriff
as the authentic group of members of the PDP.
Mr. Jegede asked the court to allow him appeal the ruling.
In a judgement Thursday, Mr. Abang said Mr. Eyitayo lacked the locus standi to appeal the decision of
the court.
He said section 31 of the Electoral Act only allows the party and not the candidate to contest the
judgement.
“The only case where the applicant would have been considered as having a locus standi to contest the
October 14 judgement is if he had taken part in the August 29 primaries conducted by Mr. Sheriff’s
faction,” said Mr. Abang.
He said the record placed before his court did not show that Mr. Jegede was a sponsored candidate of
the PDP in Ondo State.
Mr. Abang also said the notion of Mr. Jegede that the court denied him fair hearing when it gave its
decision on October 14 after his (Jegede’s) name had been submitted to INEC as PDP flagbearer was
wrong.
He said there was no record before his court, ahead of the October 14 ruling, which stated that Mr.
Jegede’s name had been submitted to INEC.
He said the document now before the court shows that Mr. Jegede’s name was submitted to INEC as
early as on October 5 and wondered why INEC failed to make mention of the submitted name in his
court.
Mr. Abang also said the failure of Mr. Jegede to challenge the June 26 judgement, which formed the
basis of the October 14 judgment, further rendered his application worthy of failing.
In a separate judgement; the court dismissed an application by the Makarfi-led faction seeking a stay of
execution of the October 14 judgement.
The court also awarded a fine of N100, 000 in two tranches of N50, 000 against the lawyer who
represented the Makarfi faction on Thursday.
Mr. Abang said N50, 000 would be paid by the counsel, Adeola Adedipe, to each of the two counsels,
who represented both factions in the previous sitting.
Mr. Abang described the recent appearance of Mr. Adedipe as a reckless and hopeless abuse of judicial
process, since the counsel was not a party during the court session where the said judgement was
given.

AISHA BUHARI AND THE TRAGEDY OF HYPOCRISY IN NIGERIA
Dr. Doyin Odebowale writes:
I have read so much on Aisha since yesterday. Nigerians are a special breed. Suddenly, this woman is
not wanted in America! Buhari did not marry a child again. Her gold, diamond and platinum bracelets are
not topics for discussion.
We are moving out of recession indeed! Many of the hypocrites on Facebook beat their wives. Many are
so useless that they establish pepper soup joints for some useless dogs called women while their
children cannot feed at home. Many don't care about how their children school fees are paid.
Aisha is the CEO of a thriving company. One of Buhari's daughters is a lawyer. His girls are graduates.
I have read posts from some of my friends who, surprisingly, failed to see the statement credited to
Buhari as a joke. I have followed some of them on Facebook. I know most of them will not tolerate any
dissenting view from their wives.
Aisha is not in purdah. She is not confined to the kitchen, literally. I doubt if she still cooks. I would have
expected the new supporters of Aisha to ask Buhari about the location of the kitchen. Is it Aso Villa
where there exists a culinary complex?
Look at Aisha and tell us if she belongs to the category of oppressed women. The fact that she granted
the controversial interview bears eloquent testimony to Buhari's character.
She just returned from the US. That trip generated another kind of controversy. That seems not
important now.
Many of these hypocrites are not proud of their wives. Many of them pretend to love women but will
work against them.
Politicians abuse women sexually. They are play things. They only allow them when their unscrupulous
godfathers impose them and direct political slaves to vote.
Academics talk of "conference materials". These are people's wives, daughters, sisters, cousins, who
belong to everybody while pretending to be in some dubious relationships.
Lucky is she whose husband can proudly assert that she has a place in his bedroom. She is not sharing
this space with any woman to our knowledge. Buhari's religion allows him to marry four women.
If the president attempted to douse tension generated by the wife's interview, and we fail to appreciate
his joke, then our sense of humour appears morbid.
Nigerians did not elect Aisha. She has no official role in the constitution. She cannot decide on who gets
appointed into the government. If she complains that she does not know those in government, it means
Buhari cannot be accused of nepotism.
If she is pained that she is not involved in governance, that is a big plus for him. She was not on the
ballot during the last election. She should not pick ministers and heads of agencies for us.
Is this not part of the change we crave?
Hypocrisy is not a virtue.

FamilyEmir’s Marriage To 14-year-old Irreversible – Katsina Emirate Council by solace2013(op):
Olaide Oyelude, Katsina
THE Katsina Emirate Council on Thursday declared that the marriage between 14-year-old girl, Habiba
Isa, and the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumin Usman, was irreversible.
The council said the marriage and Isa’s conversion to Islam were voluntarily and willingly entered into
by the girl.
The council told officials of the Katsina State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, who
visited Usman in his palace over the issue, that there was no evidence that the 14-year-old girl was
forced to act against her wish.
The family of Isiyaku Tanko of Warkaza community in the Kudun Kankara Local Government Area of
Katsina State on Wednesday alleged that Usman forcefully abducted their 14-year-old daughter and
forced her into marrying him.
She was said to have been abducted on August 16, 2016, by one Jamilu Lawal, an aide of the emir,
who worked in the palace. She was converted to Islam and held incommunicado.
Isa is expected to clock 15 years on Saturday, October 15, 2016, and would have resumed school for
the new academic term, but for her abduction.
She was said to have passed her Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination and was expected
to start Senior Secondary School.
The incident was blown open when the father of the victim lodged a complaint with Stefanos
Foundation, a humanitarian civil rights organisation, which took over the matter.
Isa was allowed to appear before CAN officials and others in the palace on Thursday, and was asked
three questions by the Kaora Katsina, Alhaji Nuhu Abdulkadir, on behalf of the emirate council.
She was asked whether she was forcefully converted to Islam, to which she replied no.
She was also asked whether the emirate council or any other person forced her into the marriage
with the emir, to which she also answered no.
The third question was whether by the time she met her husband, she was already experiencing
menstrual period, to which she answered yes.
The Kaora Katsina said, “The three questions are in line with the dictates of the Islamic religion.
Since Isa has voluntarily answered the three questions in our presence, there is no going back on her
marriage.”
Abdulkadir explained that in as much as the emirate council would not want to be involved in the
controversy surrounding the marriage, the palace of the emir was open to all Nigerians irrespective of
religion and tribe.
A letter purportedly written by Isa’s father was read to the gathering, apologising to the emirate
council for any embarrassment the issue might have caused it (the council).
The CAN Chairman for Katsina State, Very Rev. Nelson Ugochukwu, however, told the emirate council
that Isa’s marriage did not have the consent of her parents, who he said, were crying for justice in
Abuja.
The CAN leader said the association was not in support of the marriage and her conversion to Islam.
He said, “This girl (Isa) standing before us is 14 years. She is supposed to be in school and not given
out in marriage.
“We are not pleased and we demand justice. Her parents are in Abuja, crying for justice. In my
religion, you cannot give out any lady in marriage without the consent of her parents. This marriage
does not have the consent of this little girl’s parent. The parents are not happy with what has
happened.
“As the CAN chairman in Katsina, I am the father of all Christians in the state. Our people are not
happy. The parents told me that the girl is 14 years. She is supposed to be in school. I want justice
to be done in this matter. I want the emirate to look into the matter. To us, the girl is still a
Christian.”
