Many Nigerian languages are related or shares a comon influence. When you examine the language of the ethnic groups around the confluence it beceomes obvious. Oruka or "ring"in Yoruba is Erika in Idoma language. Mallam or "teacher" in Hausa is Omale in both Igala and Idoma languages Also don't confuse ORIGIN with LANGUAGE. The fact tht we use English language doesnt us englishmen. |

Business / Re: The Scam Called Shoptomydoor.com Dont Use Them!!! by SoldierPikin: 1:46am On Sep 24, 2019 |
This is really bad! I was going to use them but will not. Now they are shifting responsibility to their "partner courier". Any business that takes your money to perform a service should be 100% responsible when unable to perform. Plus what I am hearing about fraud is unfortunate and will ruin your business. 1 Like |

Family / Re: Husband Cheated With Previous Child's Mother by SoldierPikin: 4:23pm On Jun 18, 2013 |
Tammy13: In short, you took another woman's man and are upset that he misses his ex. Where do you live again? Part of the reason you have little let to stand on is because your relationship as well started wrong and with poor boundaries. Realize that and repent first before you can deal with the problem. 1 Like |
Health / Re: Nigerian Couple Give Birth To White Baby In The Uk by SoldierPikin: 8:58am On Jun 18, 2013 |
memes: HELLO EVERYONE , I DON'T THINK THEY NEED ANY DNA TEST, BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN IT HAPPEN BEFORE IN NIGERIA. MY MOTHER GAVE BIRTH TO TWIN GIRLS BUT ONE WAS BORN WITH A GOLDEN HAIR AND A LIGHT SICK THAN THE OTHER. WE USE TO CALL HER GOLDEN CHILD. AND AM SURE THAT MY MOTHER HAS NOT SEEN A WHITE MAN BEFORE, SO IS THE ACT OF GOD. BUT MY SISTER THEY SHAVE OFF HER FIRST HAIR AND IT GREW BACK BUT NOT AS GOLDEN AS BEFORE, ONE OF MY YOUNGER HER ONE PART OF THE HAIR COLOUR IS BROWN I MY SELF HAVE A GREY HAIR. LET WAIT TILL THE BABY SHAVE OFF HER FIRST HAIR. I have seen it too. One of my friends (one igbo girl like that) has bright skin and has reddish, blonde hair and her mother and father are very black. Her sister was born looking like the child in this story. I would have thought it strange if not for seeing that my friend. Yes, the child's hair will darken with time. 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Fulani Herdsmen Kill Over 50 In Agatu, Benue State by SoldierPikin: 5:47pm On May 14, 2013 |
Nigerians, do not be deceived. Herdsmen do not carry rocket launchers and Ak-47s. This was hitherto one of the safest places in Nigeria. Someone's mischief is causing problems. |
Politics / Re: Fulani Herdsmen Kill Over 50 In Agatu, Benue State by SoldierPikin: 5:44pm On May 14, 2013 |
maasoap: Let Fulanis be, stop attack on them and their animals as it is obvious to all and sundry that Fulanis dont attack but only carry out repraisal attacks. Even if their animals destroy farms, there should be another way to address the issue of destruction of farms. It takes 6 months for food crops to mature but many years for animals to mature. And also, the economic loss of a single farm of one acre cant be compare with the loss of two to three animals. The solution lies in compensation to farmers by the Fulanis with the involvement of govts. Who told you that the people who 'attacked' the herdsman are even locals? Do you know the characteristics of the natives before you made this statement? Or are you like the Americans who invaded Iraq without knowing the local dynamics? Agatu are known as the most peaceful and hospitable among all Idomas. They have welcomed Fula for over 70 years without incident. I suspect mercenaries and outsiders are involved. Google "false flag" operations. |
Politics / Re: Tafawa Balewa Was An Intelligent Man by SoldierPikin: 3:49pm On Mar 28, 2013 |
Bobandgreat: "Notherners" are as diverse as anyone else. Once you spend time with them and get to know them, you will learn about the many differences and cleavages in their cultures. There is in reality no monolithic "North" aside from politics and a lingua-franca. On thing is their elites have a benefit of hundreds of years head start in reading and writing (not in English),governmental administration, dealing with multi-ethnic kingdoms, and tax collection. Of course, the average northerner suffers from the same problem that the average Nigerian suffers from but probably worse today as the greed of their leaders has drastically increased and the importation of poor Western values social values are at odds with their simplistic lifestyle and family values. Unfortunately the knee jerk reaction in some corridors has been to import other values and a brand of Islam not known to Africa, much to the detriment of all. |

tpiah!: That is true. GGaddafi was no arab, or at least not considered Arab enough by the Arabians. He was a berber, an African indege. There are black and white berbers and everything in between. His mother is rumoured to have black blood, which one can confirm in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JYRbMEv4tw see 2:20. His parents dressed just as the sahalian people N. Nigerian. |
Romance / Re: Yoruba Women (and dating) by SoldierPikin: 5:51pm On Feb 06, 2013 |
Da Doctor:The highlighted portion I can relate to. I'm dating a Yoruba girl for the first time. She's sexy and cooks well sha. The only thing is that when here parents were visiting her place in the US, I went to her house to greet them. After A few days the father said I should spend the night and it's ok to stay in her room. According to my culture, that is unheard. My girlfriend though insists that is her dad's way of showing he accepts me as a son. Nairaland help me ooo! I am confused. |
