I had a dream about rapture too just yesterday night. I believe i died yesterday 'cause it looked and felt real. I woke up frightened. The last time i had something as trouble as this was 8 years back, when i dreamt about rapture for 3 consecutive nights.

Your dream is real! But Rapture is not happening anytime soon...
But the translation of the dream means GOD LOVES YOU and he wants you to repent..

you can always be sure of progress, especially when you are a black Nigerian programmer... You should see the way these black folks who are developers complain about prejudice at the office.

I don't know where you getting your fact from... But I know couple of Nigerian trained developer working in the states without any form of racism.... Lots of white developers works under them...

Note: Not all blacks face racial abuse...
Some are just very important figure for the community, state, and the whole country

even at that i can categorically tell you that they do not (will not) pay more than $120,000 per annum for entry - senior level especially considering he is a black developer except of course he is the genius.

And if you check well $120,000 is not much of a money over there.

An average Nigerian man that start with $120k yearly in a new country is literally okay... He progress definitely as he gain more foreign experience

Thanks for sharing some tips with the fellow. I also learned from it too!

I seldom see many IT guys going into Artificial Intelligence, specifically Machine Learning.

Why are you guys running away from it?

Machine learning is not for everybody
machine learning
algorithms through research is difficult. It requires
creativity, experimentation and tenacity. Machine
learning remains a hard problem when
implementing existing algorithms and models to
work well for your new application.

Good suggestion but I need a valid answer to this question between full stack developer and data science which one is most sought after especially someone that plans to furthermore his studies abroad?

This is totally a matter of preference. If you would rather do math and analyze data, obviously the data science route is the way to go. If you just like programming, being a full stack developer would be awesome for you. Either one will provide great opportunities and remuneration if that's what you're concerned about. In this case, you should just pursue what interests you more.

Both are lucrative
Just think about it and pick any that you think will be easy for you

1st, Is being a programmer hard??
2nd, If you estimate, how long should I learn before being good at programming..
3rd, How much shud I budget bfr thinkinq of learning it?
4th, Where can I learn Programming?
5th, Is it a qood career for one to pursue?
6th, Am I sure of being employed after studying it?

I'm glad you asked
1. Programming is not a "hard" But I won't lie, can be stressful.. Programming is the act of designing and building an executable computer program to accomplish a specific task... Accomplishing this task when you still learning can be stressful but never hard... "Don't give up" my mentor encourage words...

2. There are no specific estimated time to learn but I will advice you to keep learning till the next 6months or more... By that time, you not an expect but atleast you should be able to carry on many practice project on you own

3. Its depends on what kind of programs you want to learn... If you want to be frontend web developer I think your budget should start from 50k from a well standard IT school, if you want to run full stack Or software Development , then I guess budget should be around 100+... You maybe lucky to see more cheaper rate its not a fixed price... What matters is a sound IT school

4. I can only advice you to search for top 10 IT school in your state that offer those courses ...
My mentor gave me everything I wanted before he relocated to the States as Full Stack Developer

5. Programming Is Obviously one of the best career to pursue right now.. We are in the word of digital Computer.. Other field needs us to function well... Medical needs us.. We provide lots of ICU equipment human need to survive
Education needs IT
Banks Can't run without IT
Even in the military.
IT personal are one of the highest paid in Canada /UnitedStates also Europe..

6.You are have very high assurance to secure a job with your IT skills... But note! Not all that graduate will get a job in IT company... Just like medical school

We call ourselves Qualified Computer Scientist because we understand the concept and fundamental of our career especially in the practical area...

You will secure a job if you know what you doing
You need to tell yourself! I want to be a programmer and you must prove It...
If you learn and you know it... Consider yourself settled in life...

Tho NIGERIA got issue with Employment,
Bright brain or not... Naija will always be Naija

I will advice if you still an undergraduate studying computer science... As soon as you through with school and you have your Skills at hand.... Pls I beg find a way to relocate outside the country

NorthAmerica value IT
Europe value IT
Asia value IT
Africa? Not all

Pls find a way to run your master in advance computer Outside nigeria and not only you will be okay in Life...

You will be successful...

Any Day I realize I follow my dream right from my kid age... I will always be greatful

Let me tell you a funny facts about me

While arranging my docs
I found my result in Nursary school

Out of 9 subjects

Result was
8 subjects result was D
While one subject was A

Computer was only subject I scored A

I was very little then but I know my destiny that day

Yours maybe different but still you can rewrite it and be a full Time Programmer and earn fortune for yourself and your family

Thanks and Goodluck

I'm a computer scientist and I will beg any undergraduate students studying CS at the moment especially if you studying In nigeria

Dont depend you will acquire real money making skills from Nigeria Institution without going out on your own to source for mentor

Nigerian institution will give you 200℅ theory, 50℅ practical..... 95℅class won't even understand the 50℅ practical they gave you

Pls at your free time or IT placement... Try and find a mentor

I remember when I was still schooling, they gave us months to go out and learn digital skills practical aspects.... 85℅ went out to make money or work regularly
15℅ enroll with programming school

After we resume back to school
Students find it difficult to develop a program for defence...

I remember I chop money from my mate that time because I know what I was doing

Later on I was invited by the dean
They ask me what I can do and what I hav learned
I show them and they we're schoked! Even the so call lecturers in my dept...

I begin to take about 3 or more lectures on web programming
Can you imagine a student teaching Lectural..
Not to talk of students

After graduation still non can develop anything
They just have the certificate "CS".

Pls the beautifulness of CS is having a specified Digital Skills after graduation... You can start learning now... pick one that intrest you...

And if you a graduate already... Its not too late

Goodluck

Self taught only acquire his/her knowledge om whatever he chooses to learn
A computer scientist have basic, medium, and advance theory knowledge about computer application programs..

But its very possible to see a self taught to be better in coding than a computer scientist because his more focus on practical

But back in nigeria you see class of 70 computer science students or graduate. Only 5 people can code... The rest can only score destination on paper... Which means they understand the theory concepts of programs but they can't praticalize it all because Nigeria institution computer labs and Tutors ain't doing so well...

Just buy books Nd read about other people projects that's all they can offer...
Programming / Re: What Is The Way Going Forward? by soleexx(m): 8:06am On Jun 30, 2020
As a new developer, I dont think its easy to become a certified full stack within 2 years... Its very rare.. I mastered frontend for 4years before moving to Backbend... Still I don't consider myself as an officially fullstack yet... That's why I prefer to be frontend developer for now..

Just master your frontend first.. That's what motivate users to remain in your webpage..
