For: GPOWER TECH SOLUTION
Did you apply for the job after you saw a thread here on nairaland? If yes, I also did and have an invite also. When you do a Google search on the company you get nothing. However if you Google the number that sent an SMS if the invite to your phone 07038567494, or the search box on nairaland you will get a short history of the number and the person parading it.
Most of his posts have been deleted, the personality behind that number is an hustler. He has defenced and made logical GNLD in the past.
So don't be surprised if it is one network marketing stuff. Not looking nice
Please give me a feedback

call those in the office they said it should be 100k + will go there
I can't figure out what happened, I was very modest with the 75k+,you should have way above that certainly. Check what went wrong with the Personnel department.

Are you an Engineer or technician.

Your annual gross salary is #1,291,257, monthly gross earnings should be #107,604.75. You should have a pay of over #90k monthly after tax, union dues and the rest. Go collect ya money.
Check page 6 of this old thread, it will help https://www.nairaland.com/1963601/monthly-net-salary-federal-government/5

The Federal government have several salary structures. In addition to what you have is contiss, we also have conuiss which I can remember. For 8/2. It means you're in level 8 step 2.
Level 8 is called the graduate level and from there you climb the salary ladder via promotion, more certificates, etc.
That amount is the what you have after tax has been deducted.
For the amount, I don't know if it is okay. But I know that graduate level begins from 50+. Maybe ask Google
Something is wrong if what the Op received as salary is #52k as salary (after tax without paying back a loan) for Grade level 8 step 2 degree work with Federal Government.

I believe his pay after tax should not be less than 75K; if he works for a state government I will have that #52k reasonable.

4 Things To Do When Your Receive Your Invite
1. Acknowledge receipt and confirm if you would be available or not.

If you won't ask for reschedule but don't keep you hope high.

When acknowledging, personalise the email by using the name of the HR personal.

Good day Mr OfficialAPC.Nig,

Dear Mr OfficialAPC.Nig

2. Follow the person on all social media you can find him/her.

3. Connect and engage. Don't DM or tag him or her. It is spammy. Just like, share, retweet and favorite.

Shikina.

4. Call the number that came with the invite. Call him/her under the guise of asking for more info but use it tactfully to connect and bond.

Please only call during the office time.

This will water your ground. I am talking from experience.
God bless you real good, all this for free at no cost. Indeed, you're a blessing

Instead of arguing with you, i would suggest you google anf read up on conscious and unconscious bias in recruitment, selection, interviews etc. You will find alot of examples on it/ cases where the legal system was involved. As i said earlier, i did my research dissertation on it and it is published in academia. You can learn one or two things and no i will not give you a specific link. Please do your research and educate yourself.
Not arguing further too. This is where I quit.

Avoid Entering The Room First or Last

I don't know how you would do this but it works.

We found out that most of those we interviewed that fell within the 3rd quartile tend to be employed.

In fact we have a documented report to that effect and we worked to correct that.

So for some organisations that doesn't know this yet, you can take advantage.

Recruiters have expectations entering the Hot Room and unfortunately, most times those expectations are high and unreasonable.

The first quartile might suffer for this and as the interview progresses the Recruiter would lower those expectations but would never compromise the basic expectations.

Again, Recruiters are much more alert when interviewing the first set of people. The way you dressed, your hair, the way you speak, anxiety and first interviews tend to be longer than the entire interview average.

As the second and third set starts going in, the alertness might start reducing and expectations would definitely fall. If you can sell yourself at this point, you have the job.

That impression will be on the mind of the Recruiters when the last set starts coming in. You are now the new standard and the later comers would have to beat that. But most times they won't because the Recruiter would be tired and now a bit bias.

Since I started working as a Recruiter for over 6 years, we had only employed 1 late comer.

Before you call me names, our interview panel is made up of at least 3 Recruiters.

We did something silly I still haven't forgiven myself up till now. On our of those occassion when we had gotten our Star Guy, and we still have about 4 outside. We interviewed them without even inviting them.

What I did was to compare their CV with our guy and concluded within ourselves that our guy was better.

We asked them to write their names and we sent them away.

It is purely unprofessional and shits do happen. It was already late and we were not impressed with the other 16 we had interviewed, the 17th guy impressed and the 19-21, didn't impressed, so we sent the last 4 home.

Any Recruiter that tells you he is not a bit off-key does the end of the interview and also biased after seeing a Star guy is not being totally sincere.

Fact.
Great brother, you nailed it perfectly. I did not read it all but immediately I have to rush and type this. Absolutely fantastic. Bless you

Please, can you put that on the opening page by editing the post.

Let he who have ear, make him hear.

This where you are wrong. The fact that it is not the case in your country does not mean it does not apply else where.

I did a masters in international HRM in uk (emphasis on international) and i can tell you for a fact that companies have been sactioned for being bias towards candidates. One of my temp lecturers who happened to be a police commissioner in uk was sanctioned just because they did not want to employ someone who was disabled. They cited security reasons as why the person could not be hired. Guess what, the candidate sued and it was ruled in her favour. I have many examples of where companies are sued for bias (both conscious and unconscious) i know this cos my dissertation was on it.
Sir, the key word there is Disabled, that can as well be included in my list. You're not permitted to discriminate on physiological framework of a person especially if it can be proven that the lack of mobility in a part of the body doesn't hinder the person from performing at the role. That applies in some country not all.
Show me a specific example limited to the scope of what we are discussing here, the email username. I maintain go anywhere in the world, you will never win a case against a bias for denial of privilege on premise of email address except it can be related to race, sex, colour, gender, religion and/or disability.

His points are not dumb in any way whatsoever, those things he mentioned up post are the reasons a lot of applications go to the bin.

The email one can be relaxed though in some circumstances to permit ignorance. You should know an organisation has it culture and values which must reflect in all it staffs.
Have you ever wondered why some organisations in banking, insurance, education, health etc send away applicants with funny haircut and inappropriate dress sense, even though the appearance is not an objective measure of the ability of the applicant to perform on the job.
He hasn't fully developed the part of entering the interview first or last but I guess I know where that's headed.

I will like to remind OP that not everybody knows all this things and that doesn't mean they won't perform excellently well wen given a role.

Recruiters shld stop dis act of acting like demi gods that must be worshipped and learn to b considerate
I will tell you sir, that a good short concise acknowledgement mail as receipt of a mail for a job interview goes a long way to prepare the ground for a candidate. The candidate name resonant well with the HR recruiter and often time prepares the candidate for a mild toned interview session. Again for multistage interview, it is very good to send go acknowledgement mail. A 20-30 words mail kills no-one except a mentally lazy man.
It says a lot about the personality of the candidate and his desire to join the organisation. Makes you stand out from the teeming crowd of applicants.
Remember to the recruiter the applicant is either underemployed or unemployed, so what stops him/her from acknowledging a mail in a nice way.

'Bias' could also be alleged when qualified candidates are dropped, simply because of prejudice on the part of the recruiter. undecided If a candidate gets to know that he was not screened for a position, even though he/she was fully qualified for the role, just because the recruiter didn't like his e-mail address, don't you think the recruiter's actions could be classified as bias? huh

Don't forget that applicants might know someone within the organisation, who could give them relevant inside info, and the recruiters may be unaware of this fact.
Okay

I'm sure you will agree with me that nowhere in this world will such 'bias' earn anyone at that any sanction(s). It is not a gender, race, sex, religion, colour, age issue.

So because the recruiters are too lazy to do their jobs properly, we should applaud them for using silly illogical means, to deprive potential candidates, of a job? shocked

If the work load is too heavy, then why can't they recruit additional hands or even sub-contract part of the task to other recruiting firms? huh His pompous attitude and lack of objectivity, is part of what is ruining the chances of many candidates, as it prevents companies from even getting the best fit for the job.
I'm not applauding anyone rather I'm saying candidates fulfil the requirements either petty or not, logical or not, objective or subjective. Better to be on the safe side.
It won't hurt anyone really
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Interview Etiquette 101: My Personal Experience As A Recruiter by solelymade:

It is a totally wrong means, and that is the point I am trying to make! The only thing that can be used to prune applicants, is the info in their CV and/or cover letter, and nothing else! shocked Only lazy recruiters use e-mail addresses, as a method to disqualify potential candidates. And in the process, they might end up overlooking qualified applicants. This action does the selection process, more harm than good! sad
Somehow I share your view and it should be so. But, for these recruiters with a workload the size of Manhattan combining both objective and subjective evaluation skills in recruiting for top organisations it is a means to cut down on invites.

Applicants can tidy up on all loose ends especially on these simple things. There is too much supply of skilled workers in today's market so workers and applicant are put at the mercy of their employer and recruiters.
All is well

No, sir. His points were NOT valid in any way. sad He simply discarded those e-mail addresses due to his inner prejudice, without giving any concrete reason. Which law says that an applicant's e-mail address must consist only of his name?? shocked In reality, I know people who got high-flying jobs, using e-mail addresses that did not contain their names! I got 3 multinational jobs, using my personal e-mail address which does not even reflect my own name. So what is he saying? He is just trying to sound important. His post is nothing, but a lot of hot air! undecided

I repeat: a recruiter does not have any business with your e-mail address. His business should only be with your CV or resume! End of story.
I understand you feel it's petty and inner prejudice but it is one means by which recruiter prune applicant list. It is valid to them to employ such means though it lack objectivity.

You must be a truly lazy recruiter, because you keep discarding potential candidates based on very flimsy reasons. What specific value, does the e-mail address add to the candidate's credentials, or his/her ability to do the job? shocked You people are very funny cheesy ....anyway, today's brand of recruiters have apps to do everything for them these days. I guess those apps have replaced their brains.
You are rather full of excuses. The Op has offered vital points on why some applicant don't get invitation to job interview, a subjective way of pruning the unending list of applicants to be interviewed but valid to the recruiter. Like it or not.

And do you know the countless number of times sellers has been scammed by this? They will claim they've sent it. Show the driver. You'll wait and wait and start thinking its bank or network. If you keep the driver waiting, problem. If you say driver should bring your package back, problem... if you give the buyer, a other problem. So it's as risky as paying before the goods. I dont blame anyone that pays before their goods gets to them and I also dont blame people that want to see their goods before paying. So no one should be telling this guy he didn't try by paying first
You are right Bro, but I maintain a buyer should protect himself first. At least exhaust all options that protect you buyer first before you become too desperate to get it done either ways.

Besides for items you can even buy in the open market beside you, why give yourself unnecessary restless trauma to buy when your gut isn't cool with the deal

I deleted the posts, you saw the posts deleted and you didn't deem it fit to ask the moderator why a seller's post was deleted?
his posts were suspicious and I deleted most and also banned him, he and another Godwin000 or so, they're not different from the other ones that did similar these past weeks.
I noticed that you deleted one of his advert, he had another one in the gaming section which is still there. Also, he had to different ad, the first was a Ps4 with a charging kit like that which you promptly deleted, the other a Ps4 with the 2 assault games.
Indeed while I was chatting with the guy, you we tend to believe he is an honest seller.
One other dude like that I believe he's a novice scammer sef PRECIOUS***, this one agreed to sell a Ps4 Pro to me for 55k with two controllers, headset, flashdrive and many things like that... Lol. The price self na redflag for me, when I told him my payment terms, he said okay but wanted I send money 4k for delivery first(Kwara to lagos) , I immediately knew he had nothing to offer, he just wanted any thing at all.

Now I'm not saying you cannot get legit ridiculously cheap price on Nairaland. I once brought a brand new Psp 3000 for 13k in 2011 when the prevailing rate is 30k+ and XBox One 1 Terabyte very clean perfectly functional for 40k. But I'll never send 1naira to any seller on Nairaland (except for the ones with years of proven hitch free sales deals on here) especially those that say they ain't in Lagos.
Meet me in person with the item even that self you can't always test the full functionality of the item, your loss if some things don't work and I pay you agreed fee or pay on delivery.
Simple, don't be a desperate buyer.
Technology MarketRe: Pay Me Back My Money Or Send The Ps4. by solelymade: 12:58am On Jul 27, 2018
For transactions like this always insist on paying all the agreed price after you receive the package. Payment on delivery can be arranged with the transporter or courier. Don't be tempted to even pay for the delivery fee, because you will get nothing. They don't have the product they are advertising and will most agree to a very cheap price just to get something from you.
Very desperate.
Same guy(note:the account on nairaland is new) I agreed 60k for the console as advertised, I insisted I Will only pay when I see the package with the transporter or courier in Lagos (all fee including delivery fee), na so the guy take style run away. I can't understand why any real seller should be afraid of that when distance is a barrier. That sort of agreement protects buyer and seller.
