Question: Are the banks supposed to sell dollars to their customers at black market rate?

I'm talking about the dollar banks sell to their customers which in turn they pay back to Visa & MasterCard. Do they buy from black market or they get from CBN?

Nigerian banks are now the black marketers. The Diamond Bank Manager at their Abuja corporate headquarters told me this today. That Diamond Bank had to join other banks in this cos other banks are doing same.

Just wish we can have some smoking lawyers that will sue them all and have then pay for their sins.

The drop in price in fuel has made it cheaper to import fuel....and as a result prices have fallen.

(I happen to believe that fuel subsidy must go, and I agreed with its removal in 2012).

I think that fuel should be sold at N150 per liter and above....ie subsidy goes. I also know most Nigerians won't like it.

What is the difference? I hope tomorrow will not come and I will hear supplementary budget to offset fuel importation (otherwise known as subsidy).

It is stewpid that we have crude and we keep importing. As bad as Niger republic is we import fuel from them, though unofficial. But that importation from them made the fuel cheaper in Kano at some point last year. The fuel sold for like N84.

Why can we be silly sufficient and be the major exporter of finished products to other African countries since we are faints of Africa.

I want to sue Diamond Bank. I caught them red handed in the sharp increase in dollar rate from 204 to 225 without any major change in market indices within 24hr. They are yet to give me an answer claiming they will get back to me.
