People swap their medical appointment with random strangers they don't even know, how much more someone that's your better half, your wife.? Have you forgotten you and your wife are now one.? You don't even need to send them that email, just go there with her and let her have your slot... No issues!
Thanks for this

I booked a medical appointment at IOM and I wanted to transfer the slot to my wife for upfront medicals because I already got another appointment at Q-life. I sent them an email to this effect and they said it is not possible to swap appointments. Has anyone every swapped appointments successfully under IOM?

Can we ignore their email and show up on the appointment date?

This wait can be quite depressing. Its now about 2 years post AOR and there's no hope my application will be finalised anytime soon. I already plan to withdraw my application by June 2022 if I don't get any feedback from these people. I need to plan my life. Cant wait in perpetuity for something that may never come.

These people need to realise that the waiting game does a lot of havoc to people. I should have started a project a long time ago, but I keep postponing it on the basis that it will be a waste of funds if I eventually relocate to Canada. I think I will just terminate the process in June next year. Canada is not all there is to life abeg

Why don't you find out your VO first?
I sent a webform last year and they confirmed my VO as Ottawa

My AOR was since February 2020 and these IRCC people are still processing my application. I have been trying to notify them about the birth of my son for over 2 months now without receiving any response. I have filled the webform so many times but all I get is an automated response. I have also sent several emails to the Ottawa office where I believe my application is being processed. What else can I do?

Looks like they have abandoned some applications completely.

I know we like to be vocal and expressive but no one borrows POF for this journey because IRCC disapproves it. Leave it at that.
It might take a long tedious year but those interested in relocating save or have businesses to fund it.
Relocation shouldn’t be anyone’s cup of tea if they can’t afford it - simple.
I get that people shouldn't borrow. I am totally against it as well, because it will always end in tears. That's why I said the journey is now a lot more difficult due to the severe depreciation of the Naira. The Naira is currently free-falling and might hit N1,000 before the end of the year. At that point, probably less than 2% of Nigerians will be able to afford immigration. Is it a crime to be born in this country? Why do things have to be so difficult for the average Nigerian? Why are even relocating, if not due to the current situation of the country? I know these are rhetorical questions, but at this point, relocation is now everybody's cup of tea and they will always find a way.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by Solidcitizen: 12:10pm On Jun 09, 2021
This journey is about to get difficult for most Nigerians. POF requirements and fees for credential evaluations have almost doubled in Naira terms over the last few years. No wonder the pool still has only 22,000 people within 460 to 500, even though they haven't done any draws this year. Its likely a significant proportion of the pool are even non-Nigerians. POF for a family of 1 is now N4.4million because of the shitty exchange rate!!! How are people supposed to save that in this Buhari's economy. Most people will end up borrowing the POF and immediately regret it when the land in Canada and don't get employed immediately.

Why not change it to dollars, open a dorm account and deposit it there?
The problem is Aboki will charge over N500 to exchange the dollar. When you then convert the USD to CAD, it will be as if POF has vanished. Meanwhile, CIC won't use Aboki rate to convert the POF if I leave it in Naira.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by Solidcitizen: 10:44am On Jun 08, 2021
How are you guys managing this Naira depreciation?

I am in a dilemma. I know that if CIC will use official rate to do their conversion, my POF will be enough. So I left the money in Naira because it will be significantly far off from the POF if I convert it at the current black USD market rate of over NGN500!!

However, Naira is constantly depreciating and my money is losing value everyday and I am tempted to just convert it to USD using Piggyvest with a current rate of N505:1USD. However, this will result in a shortfall of my POF by over N1million, and I will then have to hustle the rest from God knows where.

Search "Passport photo - ID photo App" on iStore... i used the android version.
Thank you. Couldnt find this App on Istore tho. Can the IRCC reject an application on the basis that the photo does not meet the requirement?

Do not use flutterwave Barter o... be warned. There are restrictions on what you can use your Barter dollar card for.. it's not gonna work on CIC.
Also you WILL lose money. The dollar buy rate is lower than sell , so if you try and it fails, your money will never remain the same again (lol). My own is still paining me
I used it las night and it worked. It didnt work initially because I was short of a few dollars, based on the explanation provided by their support team (on Twitter). I added a few extra dollars and viola!

Please dont mislead people on this thread. Yours probably didnt go thru because you were missing a few dollars

I filled a webform to inform IRCC about my wedding since 9 November, but I am yet to receive any response. I have called them several times, only to hear that their agents are all busy and would not be able to take my call. What can I do? My AOR was March 17th

Hello everyone, I received the outcome of my EOR on Thursday and my Writing has increased to 7.5. I applied for EOR a few hours after I saw my result online and the whole remark process took 6 days. To everyone that encouraged me to go for a remark, I say a big Thank You, your words of encouragement gave me strength. This exam was also my first attempt.
Congratulations Pyad. This is one of the best IELTS results I have ever seen. You successfully maxed out all the components

Good morning guys.
I hear Vfs Lagos is open.

Can anyone confirm this?
It is yet to open, based on the information on their website. https://www.vfsglobal.com/en/individuals/covid-19-customer-advisories.html

It is probably open for only those immigrating to other countries and not Canada.

Hello everyone. Any idea of biometrics capture is possible at VFS around this (corona) period?
VFS office has been closed for a long time now. I have been waiting to do my biometrics for the last one and half months. Let's just hope they open soon
