Please what is the fastest way to get accommodation apart from Rentfaster, Facebook Market Place and Kikiji. I have tried the above options but they aren’t picking their calls. I’m in Calgary.

How low can people go? Even the court confirmed that he worked there and got the salary he earned then to determine that hus income was above his salary. By the way, it was Haskins and sells that metamorphosed into Delloite.

But the merger of both firms happened in 1972? He claims in resumed Deloitte in 1979. So you see?

depending on the province too. Some are not that cold. Last year December 20 in Toronto i was still wearing my fall jacket . And houses are cheaper and easier to rent in winter too. Just dress well and dont be too picky. Person fit choose one house after viewing like 3. Not those people that view 15 houses before they can chose one.

This is great to hear. Actually landing in Toronto, so we should be fine.

The snow would have been back that period and would be very cold. It would be easier if you had someone in Canada to support you in looking for houses and some little run-around. You might not find it funny because of the cold, which you are not yet used to. If you can wait it out till March/April, the weather would be tolerable by then and not as cold as November to February, but that does not mean you can't travel in December; just giving you an idea of what to expect. Another option would be to come earlier than December when the weather won't yet be intensely cold.

Thanks Fam

the guys at the point of entry dont know about the 25% rule. They will count all the balance. But abeg use only 25% and have extra cash in the account. Chances of being asked for pof at point of entry is less than 5% too

Thanks fam.

Please is it advisable to travel in December? Already have COPR and trying to book flight now, but I need to sort out some things in Nigeria between now and December. I’m worried because of the possible weather situation, as I will be traveling with a toddler

Good evening house,
Please can the balance of pension on one’s pension manager app be used as POF at port of entry?
Thanks

Please tag me when you get a response. Though I believe you can only claim 25% of the balance

Hello. Congratulations on your PPR and COPR. Regarding the passport submission, was it a two-way courier? Like, did DHL pick up your docs for you?
Did you pay any fees to have it sent to Accra?
By VAC, I'm guessing it's same as VFS where biometrics gets done, right?
Thank you in anticipation.

Yes, I paid for a two-way courier. I also paid the transmission fee because my son didn’t do biometrics. I don’t think you have to pay the transmission fee if you don’t have a child and you are sending it through the same VAC that you did your biometrics. You will attach the slip that you were given during Biometrics to prove that you did your Biometrics there.

However, you can still pay if you can afford it, just to avoid delays if it turns out everyone is required to pay the fee. I know a single person that paid and it’s not like they refunded the money.

PPR is finally here...class of 2020

AOR - March 2020

Passed Medicals - May 2020

Biometrics - May 2020

LONG SILENCE!!!

Got married in November 2020 and added my spouse in December 2020. She passed medicals in April 2021.

My newborn arrived in March 2021. I sent numerous webforms to IRCC to inform them. He was finally added in September 2021. I also attached updated proof of funds. I used Piggyvest and 25% pension for the proof of funds, even though the funds in my Piggyvest account were sufficient.

LONG SILENCE!!!

Request for Medicals for New born - February 2022

Request for Re-med for me - March 2022

Request for Re-med for spouse - April 2022. She already did up-front medicals before the IRCC request and I had to call them directly to recognise the upfront medicals after sending about 5 webforms without receiving any response. Upfront medicals was finally updated in late April

ADR - PCC and Form A - April 2022. We uploaded the documents on 6 May 2022.

PPR - Today, 13 June 2022. My mind was doing gbim gbim I was logging into my profile to check the mail from IRCC. Lo and behold, it was the much awaited PPR.

COPR is here finally
Dropped off Passports at DHL Lagos - 20 June
Arrived at Lagos VAC - 22 June
Dispatched to Accra VAC - 22 June
Received at Accra VAC - 28 June
Received at Accra Visa Office - 6 July
Decision Envelope Received at Lagos VAC - 29 July
Counterfoil Email - 29 July
Passport delivered to us - 2 August

There were no email updates on when the processed passports were sent back to Ghana VAC and from Ghana VAC to Lagos VAC.

The process took about 6 weeks. So if you are really in a hurry to travel, I suggest you try other VOs.

I really would not advice anyone to change their POF to dollars at this crazy rate unless you’re leaving the country now now. it’s an artificial increase mostly caused by Emefiele’s announcement on monday and then fueled by panic. This wasn’t an exponential increase. it was rapid. i believe it’d go back to stability of the 600’s.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I believe we will get some relief in a few days/weeks. The recent devaluation is purely driven by speculations. If I had USD, I might even consider selling some now and buying at 620 or lower later

VFS...looks like they are not sending update emails anymore (when they send to IRCC and when they receive from IRCC)..... or is it just me?

Also heard some people are sending their packages to the embassy direct, bypassing VFS, any gist on this please?

Same thing I was wondering o. My passport was sent back to Accra VAC a few days ago after processing. But they didnt send an email to notify me and I only saw the update when I checked the tracking website

This is how I’ve been watching everyone leave my boat one by one all month; I just tracked and it’s till showing the same nonsense processing. You’ll think PPR is the biggest issue but I didn’t even wait for PPR the way I've waited for these passports. When I’m finally in Canada, I’m going to have PTSD caused by express entry cheesy me and many others. I wake up in the night and find myself tracking passports, house hunting, praying for PTA, looking for Canadian relatives that’ll agree to co-sign a lease.Therapy should be one of the free post-arrival services offered to new PRs cheesy cheesy cheesy

Hahaha. I got AOR in March 2020, so you can imagine the crazy wait. I agree we all need therapy to recover from the traumatic experience of waiting endless for PPR and COPR grin grin

You and I are in the same boat, we sent almost same time meanwhile some people that sent to same Lag VFS in early July have gotten theirs back already. What does it say when you track

Interestingly, I checked the tracking website just now and it says the passport has been sent back to the Ghana VAC. This happened today because I still checked last night. See the message below

"Visa application, tracking ID No. – Your processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office on 2022/07/25 to the Canada Visa Application Centre. Your decision envelope will be returned to you via the courier service offered by the VAC. Collection of decision envelopes in-person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice. Please refer to the “Buy Services” page of the VAC website for further information on courier services offered by the VAC.To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website"

Who submitted passports to London or Lagos VFS recently, like in thr past 3/4 months. How long did it take each one to return your passports.

Mine got to Lagos VAC on 22 June and is it still with the IRCC in Ghana. That is almost 5 weeks gone. So I definitely recommend that you try other visa offices if you are in a hurry to travel.

They sent an email that it is in transit May 6th
Got an email that they have received it May 24th and then I haven’t heard anything since then

But I logged into my profile yesterday and saw that counter foil has been generated

I’m now wondering if I should still call them

Hi Redkay. Did you log in to your IRCC account (the one with GC Key) to check for the counterfoil?

Did your child do biometrics with you? If not, you’ll have to pay for your child. This is one of the things that delayed my passport

Yes you can use a single envelope

Many thanks for this. My child didn’t do biometrics.

Please what are the other things that could delay my passport apart from non-payment of the transmission fees?

Good evening house...please I have a few questions on passport stamping.

1. I plan to send my passport through VFS Lagos. Do I have to pay the transmission fee if I did my biometrics in the Lagos office? I still have the white slips we were given during biometrics.

2. I am sending passports for a family of 3. Can I use a single envelope for all our passports/documents?

I got most of the information for the process - including addition of spouse and newborn from this thread. Many thanks to everyone that has contributed in one way or the other. This express entry is really a test of perseverance and is not for the faint-hearted. I almost gave up at some point, especially when people that applied after me in 2020 were getting PPR within 4 months. I remember making a post on this thread about withdrawing my application, because it felt as if my life was on hold. If you are in the process, don't give up and be sure to respond to requests from IRCC ASAP. I believe their aim is to clear the backlog between now and July, so there's hope.

Hello Nairaland fam!
My last post here was somewhere in part 10 I believe. I had to stop checking due to mental fatigue from waiting for IRCC. Glad I'm finally here with a good story. All the info I learnt about this was from Nairaland so I had to come back.

Congratulations! Just curious, please what is currently showing under eligibility and background check? Mine has been stuck under "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements" for months now.

Since they sent request for medicals, Go to the hospital you did your upfront, show them the letter from ircc and ask them to resend again. Also resend webform stating you've done medicals and attach the emedicals form. If you have your VO's email address, send it there as well with explanation then relax.

Oh interesting. Let me see if i can send an email to IOM to re-send the medicals

Good morning. We are all going to make it.

Please is there any other way to send evidence of upfront medicals to IRCC. I have sent at least 10 webforms without any acknowledgement. I also tried this link yesterday. https://secure.cic.gc.ca/ClientContact/en/Application/Form/72

Interesting thing is they just sent form IMM1017 for medicals.
