Nigeria is africa's largest economy. Unfortunately, due to the huge population disparity, she would need atleast 4times SA's current GDP to have the same standard of living. We're talking about a trillion dollar economy. |
LRNZH: Two wrongs do not make a right.I am not trying to be tribal. I was only trying to remind him that the competency of a 'qualified' professional can be called to question. |
OAM4J: Ok, guess we are saying the same thing; the awards were bought, likewise his MSc in Economics. Then he used mago-mago and man-no-man + politics to rise to the position of First Bank MD and later CBN Governor. He merited none of them at all, right?I'm sure you were one of those people that questioned the competence of NOI as minister of finance even with all her experience in the world of finance and international banking. So spare us the sarcasm. |
It is not by accident that those who are villifying Sanusi on this thread while discarding OAM4J's thoughts as unreasonable, and those who are promoting Elumelu as a ideal candidate for the CBN top post; are essentially GEJ apologists or they hail from either the SE or ND area. Tribalism should not be a factor in picking a qualified candidate for such an important job. Its a disgrace and utter shame to see the exhibition of tribalism by the very people who are supposed to be learned. SMH
sanusi has been a failure. QED. |
lagbaja: Bismack Rewane is the perfect man for the jobI like bismack rewane. He is unknown in the political circles but a local and internationally respected financial analyst. I'm just not sure if he has very strong paper qualifications that can compete with the other contenders, though he has the experience in private sector. |
Dahomey Amazon: Whine brother whineDon't worry. When you realize,it will be too late by then. The damage would've been done. Btw,i'm still expecting those pictures of yours. |
I can't believe some God forsaken idiotts are trying to rationalize this madness. Is the change APC is promising Nigerians? The Niger-delta needs to control its resources. Our money is being wasted by infidels while we end up suffering the oil spillage and the degradation. Smh. Seriously,GEJ is probably the only restraining voice against the wrath of the Niger-delta. |
I will never forgive keshi if this guy ends up playing for belgium. |
CyberG: I see you only wanted to visit for a few days and imagine the hassle you had to go through? There is something definitely attractive in SA to want Nigerians to want to go there so had but when it comes to their own country, Nigerians want to remain a one-party state, but like to run to countries that have evolved politically which has helped to grow their countries. Anyway na una sabi ohSA is a one party state. Infact,Nigeria has a much active opposition compared to SA. Your analogy does not follow. |
dejt4u: We need a yoruba man this time aroundyoruba ko,indian ni. We need the right man or woman. |
Boss13: @OP I think you should redirect your protest to the government. Every corporate organisation have the right to downside. True it affects families, however, in the business world sentiments cannot be attached. If only our economy was properly managed, many of the affected families would have moved on to better job offers or start their own business (and I pray they are doing likewise too).Nonsense. Stop trying to be smarter than you are. Yes,every organization has a right to downsize if they're running bankrupt or can't sustain the expense. But it becomes callousness and cooperate irresponsibility when that same organization goes ahead and publicly spend irresponsibly on frivolities in a bid to insult our sensibilities and intelligence. |
Dude..I dnt wanna derail this topic. I coulda given u one hundred and one reasons y GEJ isn't a good president. For one, the first and utmost responsibilty of a president is by all means, the security, defence and protection of lives and property of his entity, home and abroad, all other acheivments, infrastructure, education or whatever are secondary, and we all know jonathan has failed completely on his first responsibility. Anyway, jst to remind you, the OP simply asked my intelligent opinion on why the defection from PDP, and I made my point
I want you to tell me what GEJ should have done about the security issues that he has not done, given the dynamics and the pecuilarism of the terrorist attacks in Nigeria. It's not just enough to critize anyhow. |
I'm not surprised at all. Most Nigerian-americans would gladly spy for america for peanuts, anyway. There's nothing new here. The patriotism of Nigerians is zero. |
Na wa o. |
Joyeux: Nigerians are hated and treated like slave in southafrica but they reverse is the case in nigeria southafricans are like king in our country i thinks it time we match their hatred with more hatred let us deal with them in all negative way possible that is the only way to make them to change.Southafricans are not taking our country. They can't. The few respected SAs here in Nigeria are investors, just like dangote and oando are respected over there. |
All these "they hate us because we take their women" stories are just morønic. Abeg stop painting Nigerian men as morøns. |
Solasope: Mallam Nuhu Ribadu understands what change means. Little wonder he refused to align with People Destroying People, PDP party toward 2011 general election rather he pitched tent with the ACN. He (Ribadu) is a credible Nigerian, his landmark achievement as the then Chairman of the EFCC has been unequaled so when somebody like him speaks, you see sense and vision in it.hahaha. Oh boy. |
This is the kind of activism that i support. Access bank goofed big time. I don't have an account with them or i would've closed it long ago. Nigerians should teach them a lesson. |
This is what kwankwaso said today...."‘PDP no longer umbrella for everybody, now hat for one man"... Jonathan isn't jst a smart politician. In as much as I dnt support his administration, the smartest way to acheive his aim would have being to play nice all along with all of them, disguise his ambitions as much as possible, and unleash his tactics at the last stage". "Bring ur friends close, and ur enemies closer"-tsan su, the arts of war
Yes,keep looking for 'smart' politicians like the IBBs ,OBJs and the thiefnubus and not sincere individuals like GEJ that would stand for their beliefs at their own detriments instead of compromising. The same 'smart' politicians that have smartly under-developed our country. The fact that GEJ is not like the regular mischevious and cynical, diabolically calculative Nigerian politician is enough reason for any sensible person to support him. |
Ribadu must be high on crack if he thinks the same set of criminals are the ones that will give us change. What positive change are you expecting from the likes of Tinubu,OBJ,IBB,BUHARI,KWANKWASO,AMAECHI e.t.c. I expected ribadu as a true progressive to go against the current establishment of political godfathers and past military rulers and despots who have crippled our country for so long. Anyway,he's only speaking for himself and not for Nigerians. |
There's still subsidy. The foolish set of Nigerians fought against the complete removal and yet they complain of corruption in the oil-sector. Anyway, you people should ask your governors what they did with their share of the funds. |
Sagamite: What is the vision of reetardeen Jonathan for Nigeria? The vision is Transformation and revitalization of the Nigerian moribund infrastructure. If you had a brain, you would have seen it. |
We may need to divide this country. The bad-belle is just too much. Syncophants that can't see any good thing because their tribe is not in power. Are these not the same people praising fashola for commissioning street lights? |
drmichael17: Another joke on nairaland this ought to have been moved to the joke section...If Jonathan thinks 2015 will be like 2011 where all the ndi igbos voted for him then he must be on a roller coaster having fun...no right thinking igbo man will vote for that simpleton again..Then you must have not been to igboland before during past administrations to withness the state of decay and neglect. Maybe you should ask the majority of igbos why they support jonathan. I'm sure you're not smarter than all of them. Unless you're not an igboman. |
Aigbofa: This appeal should go to Jonathan himself. Whenever he utter words like "ibos are the pillar of my presidency" he is turning his own administration to a tribal one.He was talking to igbo leaders when he made that statement to thank them for their support. He did not say that as an address to the entire nation. |
Why are state roads usually dusty and looks substandard unlike federal roads? Uyo,calabar, enugu, abuja and some parts of the north, are the only places with world-class roads. |
noblezone: you canrinue to decieve yourself.I agree. If these APC people are not careful, they'll divide Nigeria with their own hands. |
Abeg stop all these igbo propaganda. Stop trying to turn GEJ's government into a tribal one. |
ilugunboy: As usual setting up political land-mines for GEJ....hopefully he will be naive enough to enter the trap. They're already at loggerheads and OBJ has done his worst by accepting APC. There's nothing OBJ can do to surprise GEJ again. Gej should prosecute him. That singular act may win 2015 elections for GEJ. |
Joyce meyer, just like many american pastors are motivational speakers. Their teachings are nice but they are not the biblical gospel. Unfortunately, many of their fans can't spot the difference. |
